Need A Little Help From Mass. Natives
I was going through my change pile and came across a quarter with a Patriot logo on it and what was left of former WR David Givens' image on it. Seeing that it was a Massachusetts quarter, I suspect that it was done for promotional and collection use. However, the picture has scratched off, leaving just some reminders on it and no image of Givens. If anyone from Mass. has a better idea of what this was used for, leave a message in the comments. I'll post the picture in the comments as well so as to give you all a better idea. Thanks!
ESPN Boston: Kyle Arrington's Rise To Patriots' Top CB Impressive
Pretty cool piece on #24, documenting the journey he took to get to this point. Must read.
ESPN: Phils, Jimmy Rollins reach 3-year deal according to sources
Also comes with vesting option for fourth year. Once again, Ruben LOLmaro strikes again, preferring loyalty to a "legend" over giving someone like Freddy Galvis a chance. Gotta feel bad for Galvis here.
Jim Leyland Productions Presents A Very Entertaining Ejection
Starring Jim Leyland and Ed Rapuano
With the Tigers coming up for the Boys in Blue, I figured this to be pretty relevant. It's not in the scale of Joe Mikulik or Phillip Wellman, but Leyland does give a very rousing performance. Video is included in this story for your pleasure.
Callin' All Jags Fans
Greetings to all from a New England Patriots fan. In spite of the current mess that is the CBA negotiations, there is a Draft to take place. Once again, Pats Pulpit is doing a two-round mock draft soon and I have chosen to represent your Jacksonville Jaguars in that draft. With that in mind, I am asking for any help in regards to what your team's needs are (DE appears to be the biggest need, since Gene Smith has gone defense with his first round picks the past few years) and who I should pick based on those needs. Any help is greatly appreaciated.
Thanks!
Old Mets-Wiz Commercial
So, I'm sitting at work here in Harrisburg, PA and I just had the following come across my thoughts: There was an old commercial back in the late '90s the team did with The Wiz. John Franco was giving the pep talk to his teammates saying they can beat anybody, running down a list of teams. Then he says, "We can beat the Wiz." At first, the team shouts in agreement, but then changes their minds. Someone (I think Bernard Gilkey) then says, "Hey nobody beats the Wiz." Franco then says, "Almost got 'em" and winks at the camera. I am wondering if anyone here remembers it or has an exact link to the commercial. If so, that would be great; I could use a distraction from the recent mess our team is involved in.
Mets To Get 2013 All-Star Game, According to Source
Been a long-time coming now, has it?
It's Official: Backman to Manage B-Mets
On a personal note, from someone who works for a team in the same league as the B-Mets (Harrisburg Senators), it's going to be pretty cool to see this guy a few times this season.
Mets Protect Four From Rule 5 Draft
Zach Lutz, Jordany Valdespin, Josh Stinson, and Armando Rodriguez have been protected by the Mets from Rule 5 by being placed on the 40-man roster.
This is good to see, especially with Valdespin being one of the four.
SBNation Early Mock Draft
Not even the potential of a work stoppage can keep Buffalo Rumblings' Brian Galliford and Mocking the Draft's Dan Kadar from making their mock draft.
For those who don't want to wait for the link to come up, the Patriots select Cameron Jordan from Cal and Stefen Wisniewski from Penn State with their picks.
Former Patriot Dave Megget To Serve 30-Year Prison Sentence
The sentence was for criminal sexual misconduct and burglary in South Carolina. This was par for the course for Megget as sexual assault allegations have been a hallmark of his post-football career. Not to mention he's also facing rape charges from a separate case.
If this isn't the type of story that epitomizes the phrase "fall from grace," I don't know what else could.

BREAKING NEWS: Sparky Anderson Passed Away at Age 76
Rest. In. Peace.
These babies may not likely be a hit in Philadelphia, but it's awesome nonetheless.

Phillies Fan Goes Digging For Gold And Eats It Too
The fact that the culprit looks 8 or 9 years of age makes no difference. Also, even in the midst of their team's successful run, taking pot-shots at Philadelphia fans is still a very fun activity.

Jets Superfan Fireman Ed Could be Charged With Assault
Looks like the scumbaggery of the Jets has extended to its fanbase (or least to the vast majority). Then again, this doesn't surprise me.
Stay classy, Jets fans.

MetalSucks.net's Synopsis of This Mets "Season"
Two things you need to know before you clicketh teh linketh:
1) Before you ask, this is a pro-heavy metal site. The name is more of a tongue-in-cheek kind of thing.
2) All of the writers and a big chunk of the commenters there are big-time Mets fans as well, and the site devotes a category to the team called "Metal Mets."
Mejia Stellar Tonight at Trenton; Bingo Wins 5-1
This from Trenton Thunder beat writer Mike Ashmore of the Hunderton County Democrat.
Also, I saw it all with my eyes while on staff with the Thunder. Mejia was really stellar and escaped a few jams. If Jerry needed any more reminders, this one can be added to an apparently lengthy list.
UPDATE: Here is the boxscore at the request of Ogre39666.
Marlins Trade Jorge Cantu to Rangers
Good. No more having to watch him own us.

Unfortunately for me, I didn't make it past Level 2.
I know, I suck!

An Open Proposal: A New Minor League Affiliate for the New York Mets
The following is an open proposal I just created supporting the idea of a new minor league affiliate for the New York Mets. It is also meant to be taken lightly, sort of, as I'm not even sure that would ever become reality. Then again, I hope it becomes that, or at least be seriously considered. Anyway, here it is.

And now, your annual Fitzy Goes to the NFL Draft video on Youtube. My opinion: it was good, but I think it was missing something that the videos of the past two years had. Oh well, you be the judge.

THE 2010 PATS PULPIT COMMUNITY MOCK DRAFT FINAL RESULTS
Before I reveal the final results to everyone else who weren't able to witness the glory that was this mock draft, I would like to thank those of you who partook in this event. You guys made these two hours very fun. Also, thanks to the moderators for allowing me to bring this simple idea into fruition. Without them, this would never have happened.
And now, here are the results. If you're wondering who the Patriots got, here's this list:
1 (22) Jared Odrick
2a (44) Eric Norwood
2b (47) Ricky Sapp
2c (53) Montario Hardesty
Take these for what they are worth, and feel free to leave your thoughts.

With the 10th Pick in the 2010 Pats Pulpit Community Mock Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select...
Hey all. I was the Jaguars' representative over at Pats Pulpit for our Community Mock Draft. We just got finished on that, and I had your team picking...
Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama
Since this was the only pick you guys had in our draft (it was a two-rounder), it was fairly easy. I want to know what you guys think about the draft pick. Insights are welcome, insults are not. Any commentary and criticism is welcome.
