On the hunt for an autograph in 2010...
Think back to Fan Appreciation Day 2003--we were just a week or so removed from contention for the AL West title, and on the verge of ending the season with 93 wins. We still were still riding the wave of the successes from the early 2000s seasons...(oh boy were we in for a big surprise next year...)...and we still had Mike Cameron for a couple more days.
Long story short, he hit a home run off the left field foul pole--as it would happen, it was his last home run in Seattle. I got the ball, but had to leave before the end of the game, so I never got a chance to get it autographed.
My question to you is this: what are some good strategies for trying to get the ball signed? Do I dare mail it? Should I try to brave the throngs of pink Boston hats at a Seattle-Sox game this year to try to get the mark in person? Any first-hand experience getting an autograph...if not from Cammy, then from another player? Is it harder to get a visiting player's autograph?
In other news, FELIX YAY!
