For the first time in my life I heard...
I was listening to sports radio here in Austin on my way to take a test this morning. The announcers were discussing the games of the day, and then they got to the Tech/OSU game. This is where I heard something that I had never heard in my entire life. I have followed Texas Tech Football since middle school. I am the first person in my family to go to college. I chose Texas Tech on my own. Being the little white guy that I am, I always admired Tech's ability to be in or win games when the talent level was severely stacked against them. Through heart, desire, and coaching they would not let anyone push them around. Yes, there have been quite a few let downs along the way, but I believe there has been a lot more overachievement than underachievement. Up until a couple years ago the football program was on a steady incline improving talent, facilities, and coaching. No matter who the opponent was or where the game was being played Tech was feared. Opponents knew they could not take Tech lightly.
I understand I am in Austin, and it is local Austin radio personalities, but in my lifetime I have never heard
"They suck. They are an absolutely atrocious football team, and have absolutely no shot of winning this game. The Oklahoma games was a fluke. It will be a shoot out, but Oklahoma State is going to do all the shooting."
I don't know what to think, say, or feel about that.
Anyone know about this?
This may be old news, but I hadn't heard about it before. Last night in class, a woman that teaches in Lake Travis, was telling me about Ryan Erxleben whipping Bront Bird at practice in "Bull in the Ring". She said there was a video of it on the internet. As soon as I got home I looked it up. I found several links to it, but at every site the video was no longer available. Anyone know anything about this? She also said that Brewer is a good kid.
Tech in the Record Books
Bleacher Report has a list of NCAA records Tech has ste. As you would imagine, alot of them have been set in the last ten years.
LL Cool J
So I am watching the E True Hollywood Story of LL Cool J last night and they show several pictures of him weraing a Tech hat. Did anyone see this or know about this? So I try to find the picture today and not only is he wearing a Tech hat, but I think it is on an album cover. Here is a link:
What do you think? Are we big time or what?
