Well folks its that time of year when aggie makes his trek to the staked plains trying to find a sheep pen to spend the night in.  Since this will be his last visit for a while I feel we should have a little send off for him.  So as Seth and Mrs. Seth take a trip to pick up a new Red Raider named Fitsum, we need to blow the top off of a few barley pops and raise our glass.  Prepare our minds, bodies and souls for the battle that will soon ensue.  Ribs, brisket, poppers and chicken on the pit.  BYOB and the kids drinks will be provided.  Party is at Smoker Row in front of the Chemistry building.  Travel Safely and GET YOUR GUNS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all DTN folks, we are going to Tailgate this weekend just west of Memorial Circle in front of the Chem building.  All interested please stop by and say hello, grap a "Heartattack" and a beer.  We will prepare our bodies and minds so we can help the Red Raiders throttle the wolfpack.  Bring your family for some great West Texas fun. It's been an up and down emotional rollercoaster with all that has gone on with our beloved Matadors the past year or so.  But football is in the air and its time to get out, relax and see what our great group of new recruits and veterans have in year two of the Tubbs experiment.  As you all are aware the spring game is March 26th.  I wanted to put out an invitation early to all DTN's so you will know that you have a place to meet and greet before and after the game.  Will also head over to watch our baseball crew take on Nebraska later in the day.  So if you can, come on out to the West lot for breakfast Migas, ribs, brisket, beans, beerbutt chicken and hot cobbler and possibly a barley pop or two.  You are all welcome.  GET YOUR GUNS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feels good to be back in the win column.  I have spent all week trying to detox my childrens ears from all the foul language I was spouting on our patio last weekend after the infamous onside fiasco.  Early game this week so we will be starting early.  Just brisket, beerbutt chicken and brawts and the usual Barley Pops and Jim Beam Black to appease the Gods.  All are welcome....hope to see you again CENTEX.  Hope everyone has a safe weekend.

The menu is set for the Texas blowout.  All DTN faithful are invited to attend.  Same rules apply, BYOB, eat, drink and have a good time and we must all take a swig of JIM BEAM BLACK before the game.  This weeks fare includes the Heart Attack of brisket and brawts on a tortilla.  Beer butt chicken, slow smoked ribs(gives us a reason to guard the beer all night) and BEVO NADS if you dare.  We will trek over for Raider Walk and then escort the band into the game around six fifteen.  Hope to see you there.  WRECK EM' TECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its almost here and I can't wait for kickoff at THE JONES.  To help all DTN fans prepare for this right of Fall we have set the menu for our opening game tailgate.  All of you are invited to stop by and enjoy.  Because the game is early we are going to start out with Migas at around 10:00.  The brisket and brawts will also be available.  If you are like me I'll be hunting on Saturday and if any of you have Dove that you want to smoke please bring them along.  We will also have apple and peach cobbler.  If possible please bring your favorite chips and soft drinks and if someone could bring flour tortillas, paper plates,  plastic ware, plastic cups and ice that would be great.  BYOB!! as many different types of ale and spirits usually show up.  It has been a tradition for the past 6 years that all who attend take a swig of Jim Beam Black just before we head to the stadium for good luck.  We are going to be in lot R8 which is just west of Memorial Circle in front of the Chemistry building.   I look forward to visiting with all of our fellow RED RAIDERS just look for the flags and the DTN banner.  Lets send our fellow Matador, USAF Raider off with a great time and many memories to sustain him while is away fighting.  We will have a special Texas Tech banner that I ask all who attend to sign so he can take it with him.  GET YOUR GUNS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things are taking shape for the Big Party  that will begin this Friday afternoon.  I really need a headcount of all who plan to attend Drunkfest on Friday and those who will be attending Saturday AM for the Hot Cakes and MIGAS!!!!! so we know how many we are cooking for.  Also Saturday PM we will continue the party before and after the Baseball tilt between our beloved RED RAIDERS and the ok sooners.   Last but not least my nephew was contacted by Coach Tubby and Coach Brown yesterday and he will be attending the game as well.  He is the 6' 8", 280lb offensive tackle discussed in an earlier post.   We are excited as Tech is in his top 3 choices.  A little good humored persuation is in order for Saturday.  Anyway please let me know ASAP so the protein can be harvested.

Just spoke with the athletic office, it seems that they are not having the garage sale this year.  In the past it was put on by the Double T Zone and he is out of pocket due to the construction.  Thought I would let everyone know.

We are setting up in the west parking lot on April 16t has close to the central entrance to the Jones as we can get.  This will also allow us to get into the garage sale if it is still going on.  Just look for the awnings, the pit is a trailer withTEXAS TECH on top with 6-8 flags flying high.  A new flag hopefullywill be brought out for this weekend with the Double T Nation symbol flying high if the folks at the print shop can get it completed.  Menu will consist of smoked briskets, venison and elk brawts, smoked ribs, beer butt chicken, tortillas and a couple of dutch oven cobblers, a little whisky and a huge amount of beer.  Please feel free to bring things of your own as the fire will stay hot around the clock and you are more than welcome to cook on the grills.  Saturday mornings fare will be Migas and hot cakes and coffee.  Bring your appetite and lets party with the Scarlet and Black!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Midland Center was packed to capacity yesterday to see and visit with the new coach.  The crowd did show incredible restraint when AD Meyers spoke as nothing was hurled in his general direction.  Coach Tuberville is very engaging speaker but most of what we heard yesterday was what most of us have heard from his other stops around the state.  My wife and I did get to speak with our new coach for a moment and had our picture taken with him.  Tech is actively recruiting our nephew who is a 6'8", 280 lb offensive tackle here in Midland who we are quite proud of.  Another highlight of yesterdays event was getting to sit at a table next to All American E. J. Holub who could still play a little ball if he had any elegibility left. 

We are very excited about the upcoming Spring Game on April 17th.  There will be a group of us from Midland going to Lubbock on the 16th to tailgait most of the night.  I hope all DTNs can make it.  We are having a flag made with one of our DTN Logos so all DTNs can find us and stop by for a beer and a Heartattack!!!
