Rams RB's
Saw this in a fantasy football article about the Saints (Chargers) backfield and I think it would be the perfect split for us as well. Jackson I feel is on the decline (though by no means a dud), so to keep him fresh throughout the season is key. The split in the qoute below I feel would be perfect for our crew with the occasional exception (ie would love to see both Norwood and Jackson in the backfield at the same time). It's tough to say how you would split this up but for me I see it as Norwood 3rd downs, Cadillac between the 20's and Jackson In the redzone/short yardage. That should do a pretty good job of splitting the carries and keeping all three guys fresh. Your thoughts...
Staying in H-Town, the blurry Pierre Thomas(notes)-Mark Ingram platoon is starting to come into focus. It appears the early-down rotation — Darren Sproles(notes) will likely be deployed 90-95 percent of the time on third downs — resembles Norv Turner's in San Diego. The PT Bruiser, who drew the start for the second straight week, will be the between the 20s option (Ryan Mathews(notes)). Meanwhile, Ingram will net most action inside the red-zone and on short-yardage, including goal-line work (Mike Tolbert(notes)).
Saffold might be hurt Spags mentioned it today at NC
Robinson or Gibson?? Your Thoughts.
Was just thinking of what we will do once Robinson is healthy again. Do we start him and kick Gibson to the curb. To me it seems like Gibson gets better separation than Robinson but that could be because of a bum ankle. I like Robinson's size and I think he compliments Clayton and Amendola better. Gibson just seems to do well in this system. Either way guess it is good to have options. What do you guys thinks? Also, anyone hear how D. Alexander is looking?
The Patriots now have two picks each in the first, second, and third rounds of next year’s draft. Damn…just damn.
Me
Animal Jr Beast Mode
Did not think I could like JL anymore than I all ready did, until I saw this video from Sound FX. Now I am at full man crush mode, I am so happy we have him on our team. Not only is he a leader for our defense he is a leader for our team. This is HIS!!!!!!! team, he owns it just like Lewis does for the Ravens. Between him and Sam the next ten plus years of rams football are going to be fun to watch. Good job Devaney and Spags keep these guys coming!!!!!! Here is the link
Why does the NFL Network hate us.
This was under the Sunday Funny section of Michael Lombardi's post. When will we finally get some respect. We should be 3 and 0 and just beat a team they all predicted would win. All we get for acknowledgement is this back handed "nice first win for the Rams". I hope when we end up 2-2 next week and are tied for the Division, we actually get some serious coverage.
» Nice first win by the Rams, but the Redskins should be ashamed of themselves letting St. Louis run all over them and dominate the game. The Rams controlled the ball for almost 35 minutes. The big question remains, what happened to that great Washington defense? The Redskins might not be as good as advertised on defense and converting 1-10 on third down offensively will not help anyone win. The Redskins need a running back -- badly.
Mike Shanahan on Bradford
Washington coach Mike Shanahan made no bones about his interest in Rams quarterback Sam Bradford before the NFL Draft back in April.
In fact, before the Easter Sunday trade the Redskins made with the Eagles to acquire Donovan McNabb, there were indications that Shanahan was willing to offer a major package of picks to the Rams in order to obtain Bradford.
While Shanahan is happy he has McNabb running his offense now, he’s still clearly very fond of Bradford and the type of quarterback he can become.
When asked what how much defensive coordinator Jim Haslett would ratchet up the pressure on the rookie signal caller, Shanahan said he expected Haslett to do it while taking great caution.
“I just wish it was a normal rookie,” Shanahan said. “A normal rookie, yes. I think you’ve got one of the premiere quarterbacks in a long time and I just like the way he plays, the way he handles himself. You get a quarterback like that once every 10, 15, 20 years.”
Behrens think Rams will take shots
This is a fantasy post from Andy Behrens. I think he is a Rams fan. I hope he is right about us finally opening up the play book.
Calm, cool and collected, the No. 1 pick is challenging the fantasy stigma rookie quarterbacks are unreliable headaches. “Even keeled” and “in command” according to Mark Clayton, Bradford has amassed a respectable 16.5 fantasy points per game in standard formats (420-3-4). This week against a Washington secondary still licking its wounds after surrendering 497 yards and three scores to Schaub, the beaver-toothed youngster will likely gnaw on the visitors. The ‘Skins have allowed a QB-friendly 7.8 yards per attempt. Taking advantage of what the defense will give him, Bradford will take several shots downfield. Provided the Rams offensive line can protect the prized QB adequately, he should convert on at least a handful of those opportunities. To the five St. Louis fans in attendance, relax, Spags will remove the manacles this week. More desirable than Carson Palmer(notes) (at Car) and Joe Flacco(notes) (vs. Cle) in Week 3, tab the rook a borderline starter in 12-team leagues.
Fearless Forecast: 22-37, 248 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 18 fantasy points
Rams say no thanks.
From Jim Thomas post dispatch.
Whatever interest the Rams may have had in Vincent Jackson has passed. League sources told the Post-Dispatch on Tuesday evening that the team is not pursuing Jackson, the San Diego wide receiver.
Expending lots of money, plus draft picks, for a player with past DUI issues didn't make sense to the team.
Here is the link to the post dispatch. I personally am glad we did not make the move they are asking for a 2nd and 3rd round pick for him. Way too much IMO.
Also Larry Johnson was released by the Redskins.
Here is some other news from post dispatch.
QB Thaddeus Lewis, who was cut Saturday, cleared waivers and was added to the practice squad. ... Former Rams first-round draft pick DT Damione Lewis was among eight street free agents who visited Rams Park on Tuesday for physicals and/or workouts. None were signed. … Also visiting were RB Kevin Jones; WRs Reggie Brown and Yamon Figurs; DTs Dre Moore and Jimmy Saddler; CB Cletis Gordon; and LB Eric Alexander. ... Former Rams third-round pick DT Claude Wroten has been added to the Florida Tuskers active roster in the United Football League.
Rams future.
Our team is young and has NO!!! talent to compensate. We have a rookie QB, a rookie 2nd round left tackle who should really be a right tackle or even better a guard. We have a right tackle that might as well be a rookie who is under achieving. Lots of #2 and #3 wide recievers and no serious threat at TE. We are the only team who doesnt have a legit change of pace back or even backup RB(as much as I would love it SJ39 cant be in every play). Our only deep threat (Avery) is on the IR list. Changing OCs constantly kills a QBs development. We have to give these guys time to put together a real team and get established. We are finally heading in the right direction after the Martz and Linehan crap we ended up with. We also now have real ownership, not those 2 ghosts we had before. 2 more years fellas then things will get better if not, THEN!!! we press reset and try again. I know i am probably going to catch hell and I dont know what the talent coming in the draft is but if I was GM I would trade SJ39 to Chicago for Taylor, a 2nd round pick and a later pick in 2011 or a pick in 2012 . Then next year draft a beast LT in the 1st , a RB and WR in the 2nd, fill out the rest of the draft with defense. With the new LT we move saffold to LG, keep Brown at C, move Bell to RG, and keep Smith at RT then we would have a legit line for years to come. With a 2nd round RB ( Ray Rice was drafted 55th in 2008 ) and WR ( Vincent Jackson was drafted 61st in 2005 )added we should also have our skill postions set on offense for a while. Our defense can keep us in games now, so with the later rounds and hopefully some free agents, we can have a good competition for DE, DT, OLB and CB and we can take another step up. Add all this and we might actually go 6 and 10 in 2011. Another good draft to shore up our D plus 4 years of the same system and we go Division Champs in 2012. If anyone reads this please send the plan to Devaney thanks.
Week 2 Madden Roster update.
Very disappointed they dropped Bradford to a 78 because of one game. If we base the ovr rankings off of one game then alot of our guys should be bumped up not taken down. Thadeus Lewis ratings are horrible his speed I think was a 64??? Happy to see Dahl get bumped but Longs should have also. As well as Robbins. Still no respect for the Rams.

Rams have a great tight end on the sideline.
Video from the official sight. One of my favorite tight ends letting you know a little more about themselves. There needs to be room on the plane because we could really use the help on offense.Hopefully this should get you fired up the weekend and for the game on Sunday. Due to the amazing assets on display, this video is not for the faint of heart or children under thirteen. Enjoy. Here is the Link. As always feel free to comment.
Bradford on NFL network.
Here is a link to a breakdown of Sam Bradford from last team game. If someone has all ready posted it my apologies. For those who have not seen enjoy. For those who have feel free to give your opinion on the analysis. I thought it was fair but I still prefer VT's. Hopefully we can get him to react a little quicker to the open man and cut down on some of those poor throws and picks.
Dropped Passes
A lot has been made of the dropped passes in last weeks game. In my opinion there were so many other factors that went into losing the game that a few dropped passes seem insignificant. But they are so easy to see and point out, that we often tend to focus on them. Dropped passes are going to happen in every game to the best teams and the best players. If we won (someone please block Steve Breaston next game) we would all be talking about how great the 4th and 1 play and Clayton's 3rd down catch on the sideline were. Dropped passes would not even be an issue. After the jump I will have stats for dropped passes for our team as well as some other key teams. Hopefully you will see that there is so much more that goes into winning or losing a game. With only 16 games every play is important but not every play has to be perfect to win. Our team played hard and tried their best, the reason we lost IMO was lack of situational experience for both our coaches and players.
For all you Madden fans.
Here is a link to the new roster update. Here is full list for the Rams. Would like to have seen a jump in stats for Fletcher and Grant. Oh well enjoy.

TJ Whosyourmomma cut by Seahawks!!!!!
I think he will probably end up in Minnesota. Would love to see him as a ram opposite robinson putting amendola in the slot. I think Jackson is a pipe dream and we really need at least one experienced wide out for Bradford to throw to. Now is a great time to grab TJ as we could get him for cheap vs Jackson who I believe will take away valuable picks. What do the TSTers think??
