If The Rams Suck This Year...
If the Rams suck this year, at least there will be other entertainment on the field to watch. The Rams recently names their 2009 Cheerleaders. Here is a link to the pictures. (http://www.stlouisrams.com/Cheerleaders/CheerleaderAnnouncements/)
After browsing, some of them don't look too shabby. Others? Well let's just say it's a recession and we could have done without their services. But, that's my opinion. What do you guys think? Overall, how do we look? Which ones look like a "winner"? Who are the "losers"?

Thoughts On The CBA
I figured I would dive into talks about the, forever boring, CBA. We all have heard the theories on the uncapped season in 2010, or even a potential lock-out season. Without getting into the nuts and bolts of the dealings, I wanted to get your thoughts on my perspective.
To me, it seems that the NFL is the ONLY sports association that has problems with the players and money. You never hear about an NBA player holding out, or you never hear about a MLB star who is at risk of getting cut 3 years into a contract. When's the last time you heard talk about the Crosby rookie contract? I sure haven't.
To me, it seems that both sides need to come to an agreement. The owners need to give a little and so do the players. From my perspective, I think I have come up with a solution that would be a win-win for both sides. First, the owners would need to guarantee contracts. Period. That way players will have some loyalty to the team and fans, and that would negate any reason for a player to holdout after he has had a good year and wants a raise. On the other side, the players would need to earn that money. Meaning, rookies don't get big contracts. A top pick would make a max of $10 guaranteed. This saves owners from paying out huge money to unproven talent and enforces the concept of working to make your money.]
Of course, there will be some other issues that need to be ironed out, but what do you guys think?

What's It Going To Cost Us?
Now that the draft has come and gone, the next step in the process is getting everyone signed. As of April 22, 2009, the Rams have $10.69 million in cap space available. We have got some room to work with, compared to other teams, but it ain't a lot.
Our first round pick, 2nd overall, Jason Smith is NOT going to come cheap. Not just because he was the second pick, but because he is represented by the mega agent Tom Condon. Condon makes Drew Rosenhaus look like a slacker when it comes to being an agent. For those of you who don't know who Condon is, this is a short list of players he represents: Peyton & Eli Manning, LT, Tony Romo, Brady Quinn, Matt Leinhart, Mark Bulger, Drew Brees, Tony Gonzalez, the newest millionaire in the league Matthew Stafford, and the list goes on and on. That being said, Smith isn't going to just roll over and want to play for a sub-par franchise. Condon just scored a HUGE deal for Stafford and he will look to do the same for J. Smith.
What are the chances the Rams fork over the dough vs. playing hard ball with an agent that knows how to get his money?
Personally, I think we are in the hole to pay this guy AT LEAST $25 million in guarantees. If not, J. Smith will be prepared to hold out until the end of July....
