Alex Gordon Expects to Dominate
Interesting. Based on everything I've ever read or heard this is really out of character for Gordon to say something like this. I like the confidence though. Hope he can make it happen.
Gordon's numbers
I'm not a Sabermetrician (nor do I play one on TV)...but for those who really follow this stuff I was wondering about Gordon's numbers since he returned to the Bigs. It seems to me that he is striking out a much fewer rate...at the same time his walks are also down. What I am really interested in is his line drive rate. It looks to me like he is hitting the ball in the air much more than he was before and is not hitting very many ground balls (as opposed to Butler). Anyone have the specific numbers. Are my eyes deceiving me?
Changes in the outfield?
The Omaha radio announcer said last night that Alex Gordon will be playing right field for the remainder of the season. The decision came "down" from the organization. This either means that DDJ is being moved via trade or moving back to center field on a permanent basis? I fear the former. Gordon has only played 7 or eight games on the right side but will now be getting all of his time there. They also said Ankiel is very close to coming back up. Ughh.
Gordon shows off the cannon
Nice read from the paper up in Lincoln. Sounds like AG is taking to left field like a duck to water.
Ridiculous numbers right now at the plate. .375 BA. .519 OBP. .688 SLG. 1.207 OPS.
TPJ
Anyone checked out how Tony Pena, Jr. is doing? Tony is pitching at AA Richmond (Giants) and is having a great year as a reliever. 3-0 record. 4 saves. 15 hits in 26 innings. 5 BBs and 23 Ks. WHIP of .75. Dude might actually have a chance to be a decent reliever if he keeps those kind of numbers up. I know it's only AA, but I'd love to see TPJ make it back to bigs as a bullpen arm. Wonder how Brian Anderson is doing?

I don't Getz it
So we traded for this young second baseman who is already a defensive whiz. He needs to develop his bat in order to be able crack the lineup and contribute to our future. Right now, Getz is buried behind the uber-hitting (and fan favorite) Mike Aviles. It's pointless for this young guy to be gathering splinters and eating sunflower seeds every game. The Royals need to apply the same logic they just did with Kila and send Getz down to Omaha and let him play every day. Bloomers can be the utiilty infielder if needed. Me thinks it's a bad decision to have this guy not getting any better. I don't Getz it.

Gordon Article in OWH
That lazy work ethic and bad attitude just keeps rearing its ugly head (insert sarcasm font here).
Maier The Mystery Man
So there were rumors that Mitch had been called up...he was reportedly seen in Kansas City...and now the KC Star this morning says that he was in fact in KC in anticipation of a roster move but was sent back to O-town the next day. Was there a trade in the works or do we have someone going down? Or someone headed to the DL. What was GMDM thinking...inquiring minds want to know...
Hillman should be ashamed
There's no excuse for what Trey did to Gobble last night. You don't leave a guy in there to twist in the wind and completely humiliate himself in front of a home crowd. He could have brought in a position player to pitch earlier or had Nunny warming up earlier. This is the kind of bush league move that will turn players on the manager in a heartbeat. I guarantee you that's one pissed off locker room and it's not because of the loss.
