I took my family to the game tonite and watched our team get beat to a pulp. That part I could swallow (albeit it was difficult to watch). The beef I have is where in the hell are our fans? I was almost embarrassed to call myself a Rays fan tonite. EVERY you looked there were RedSox Fans and lots of em. At this time of the year and how critical of a game this was, there was absolutely NO excuse for not only their being more fans, but the place wasn't even sold out! Sad site.

If NFL officials are held accountable, why not for every other sport?

This is a paragraph from an article that I read from ESPN.com earlier today. This maybe should have been a fanshot, but since nobody reads those....here ya go:

"Officials are held accountable for their calls. They are graded on every play of every game," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Monday. "Ed has been an outstanding official for many years, but he will be marked down for this call. Under our evaluation system, an official's grades impact his status for potentially working the playoffs and ultimately whether or not he is retained."

To read the rest of this artice, here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3589407

The main reason for this post is because last week we talked about umpires and accountability for their screwups (attn: Doug Eddings) I remember someone saying MLB umpires would never be fined unless they were paid more. I'm not sure of the pay scale between the NFL and MLB, but I certainly applaud the NFL for holding referees accountablefor their actions. They don't dscriminate either because Ed Hochuli is probably the most respected ref in the NFL. Now it doesn't say if and how much he was fined, but at least the NFL is doing something about refs/umps who make mistakes by implementing a "point system" which could eventually end in their firing. MLB needs to take a page out of their book. This post is more directed towards fielding umpires and not umpires who call balls and strikes.

Some even have the Bucs fininshing 3rd in the division. I can't wait to break Shokey's other leg and smash Drew Brees in the mouth. Saints were picked consensus #1 and Panthers #2 by most publications. Shows what they know....This should full the fire and give our team something to post in the locker room.
Question of the day: What are the Rays chances of winning 100 games? Any takers on how we end the year? Not gonna be easy, but I am gunning for 100 wins. Anything after that will be gravy. That means going 20-12 the remaining regular season games. What an unbelievable season.

So is Willy Tavares from Colorado, but I don't see us getting a shot because we are so far down on the waiver list. I also don't see the Rockies trading him, just feeling out what they could get for him.

Say what you want about Sonny. But all the guy does is win, win, win. He is 16-8 dating back to last August 15th. We all talk of moving him or Jackson to the pen, and I know I talk bad about some his stats sometimes, but their is no way imo that we put Sonnanstine in the pen. Let him start and watch him win.
