The dirty:

I've been a baseball fan since age 4. I'm now 38, so I can appreciate the changes the game has gone through in the last 25 years.

I grew up in St. Petersburg and had to endure the heartache time and again of "we're getting a team!" to "oh $#i+, not again" to finally getting a team of our own. The Rays are ST. PETERSBURG'S team and it pi$$es me off that some city across the bay has so many Yankees fans and one of that city's council members actually admitted that the Yankees are the "home team" to that city. Screw that city and everything about it in relation to baseball!

I have been to at least 50 games over the years, including the franchise opening game in 1998, the first Saturday home game (Frank Thomas hit the catwalk in left and it was FOUL but the umps ruled it a HR), Wade Boggs' 3,000th hit game in 1999. I have seen every American League team and several NL teams and I've even seen the Rays play on the road, a win over Baltimore in Aug. 2001!

After much back and forth, I am FOR THE NEW STADIUM! I live in the Old NE section of St. Pete and I'm sick and tired of seeing those hideous red anti-new stadium signs in rich people's yards. St. Pete would screw the pooch by voting the stadium down. Parking is an issue but it can be fixed.

Lastly, while I love the Rays and have no problem with other fans coming to the games, the jerkoffs who call themselves "Red Sox Nation" are a collection of complete buffoons. If Boston is so great then why did you move here. If you chose to live here, have the balls to support the local teams or leave. It's that simple and it's called civic pride. Don't just go to the games when your "home team" is here, go to other games as well. There is no reason we shouldn't have at least 25,000 in the Trop on a nightly basis and sellouts on the weekend games.

Go Rays!
Go Gators!
or Go Home!
