Recruit article from 9/29
I didn't see anyone post this or talk about it on any of the sites so I thought I would post it. There's some interesting names on the list of recruits who were in attendance for Illinois. Steeler fans might find the article very interesting. Might there be a wild-haired, soft-spoken Polynesian wearing Blue and White in the future? You never know. Go State!

Illinois Pep Rally 8pm Friday Night at Rec Hall
I see that there's a women's volleyball game prior to the pep rally. The game starts at 6pm. I plan on attending the pep rally but I was wondering if I should go to the game before the pep rally to ensure that I can get into the pep rally. Two years ago I went to the Michigan pep rally and it was packed but there was no game prior to the rally. I'm sure there's others in here who have gone to the pep rallies before but if anyone has gone to a pep rally that was preceded by a game, could you please lend some advice?
Do I have to go to the women's volleyball game on Friday night before the rally?

Who else will be cheering for Temple tonight?
Like many others, I've been keeping an eye on what Al Golden has done down at Temple recently. Temple picked up Vaughn Carroway out of Muhlenberg(Reading burb) last year and they've got a couple of commitments from my alma mater, Reading High these past 2 years.
Temple's an easy team to root for if you're from Eastern, PA. They're not a threat to PSU and they're a feel good story with the role of the underdog. Penn Staters understand the role of the underdog. Although we're #6 in all-time wins, we annually get little respect from the national media.
Go Owls!

Just a crazy/stupid thought
I recall hearing awhile ago that OSU takes/took one day a week to practice for their game with Michigan regardless of who they're playing that week. Has our situation with Michigan gotten that bad that we should start thinking about doing this? I know it's crazy and it's about as likely to happen as JoePa retiring on his own but it's a slow day at work and I'm bored.
I'm so tired of this streak. It passed ridiculous a few years ago and now it's moved on to pathetic.
Oh yeah, here's some stats I put together to show how far ahead OSU and Michigan are above everybody else where it counts....in conference. Wisconsin and PSU are basically deadlocked.
Big Ten Records Since 1993:
OSU 92-27-1
UM 91-29
PSU 73-47
Wis 72-45-3
Big Ten Records Since 2000:
OSU 50-14
UM 50-14
Wis 36-28
PSU 32-32
Big Ten Records Since 2005:
OSU 22-2
UM 18-6
Wis 17-7
PSU 16-8

ESPN's Hypocrisy
College Football News

This is what you'll see if you go over to ESPN and look at their College Football page. Does anyone notice a disturbing trend? Yes, all but one of the headlines are negative and yet they have a beautiful picture of Tressel, Carroll, and Richt for all of us to admire. It may be unfair for me to put Richt into the category of Tressel and Carroll but he's gaining steam lately. Tressel and Carroll are two of the dirtiest coaches in college football today but they're also the Teflon Dons of modern college football. Trouble keeps finding their programs but here we are watching ESPN singing their praises once again. Now, do you still think there's not an agenda in Bristol?
Something's wrong when ESPN goes out of their way to make somebody like Joe Paterno look bad, all the while praising guys like Pete Carroll and Jim Tressel!

Letter to Rich Scarcella of the Reading Eagle
After reading his article in the Reading Eagle, I sent him the following email. Was it over the top? Opinions?
Here's the article that bothered me:
http://www.readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id=100515
I understand that you have a job to do but usually the Reading Eagle focuses on issues that have a local tie or generates local interest. I understand why we had to read about Michigan while Chad Henne was there but now that he's gone, I'm not sure why we have to read about Michigan Football.
Most of the Reading Eagle subscribers are Penn State fans as I'm sure you know. We live in an area with strong ties to Penn State for obvious reasons. Having said that, I don't think we need to read about Michigan in our local paper any longer. The national media hypes Michigan Football enough for all of us.
All I ask is that the PA media and in this case, Reading media start showing some loyalty to a program that deserves it.....Penn State. Let ESPN and the folks in Michigan write fluff pieces about their underachieving program that has 1/2 a Mythical National Championship and 1 undefeated season since 1948!

OSU player charged with assault
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3478639
I know that Buckeyes have loved to point to our recent run ins with the law, so I thought I'd point out this little bit of info. It looks like Clifford was ready to kill. Man, could the food have really been that bad? I've gotten bad service and food before but never to the point where I wanted to beat somebody or threaten to shoot them over it.

Adam Gress is commit #13
Looks like a good get and it was expected once he got the offer. I love the size that we're bringing in on the OL. Also, it appears as it's not bad size or weight either. Each of these guys appears to have good speed and quickness according to their times. Does anyone else think that we're done once/if Nate Cadogan commits? What is everyone's opinion on this year's OL class? I personally am very happy. Stars aren't guaranteed and their even more worthless with regards to OL commits so I just usually look at the size, weight, speed, and feet. I think we got a bunch of good ones this year!

Nate Cadogan is visiting PSU 1 more time
According to BWI he's going to make one last visit before giving his commitment. I smell another verbal coming. I'm reading between the lines here but he's familiar with PSU moreso than most recruits because of his brother so I assume the visit will be a way of making his commitment in person to the staff. I look forward to his announcement and hopefully his commitment to the Nittany Lions!
