I thought I'd start this thread to hear stories of when and where you found yourself in the presence of a Tiger. I've come in contact with a few players and they always make for an unexpected memorable moment.

Is there anyone on this site who can tell me why there is such a love affair with Drew Stanton? Could someone please explain to me if Stanton was from MSU that is Montana State University would some PODer's defend this former GM second round pick with such valor? I cannot understand this insanity.

Arguably, nobody on POD was a bigger fan of Stanton the day he was drafted than me. I absolutely loved the pick. My feelings were – this is like a fairy tale --. A local high school football state champion goes to Michigan State and then to the Lions and then someday lifts the Lombardi trophy over his head.

What a tribute to John Herrington, Stanton's high school coach that has one of the best records in all of high school football. Link

I graduated from Farmington Hills Harrison. Some of my cousins from Allen Park who are loyal to Cabrini hate Harrison so much they make sure to point out that I am a Harrison Hawk at every family gathering. I really wanted Drew Stanton to succeed.

I realized my dream would never come true the day this current front office dug deep in to the bowels of retired quarterbacks to find Daunte Culpepper. You might as well have hit me with a two-by-four between the eyes as I realized Drew is not the man: Time to move on.

I appreciate what Stanton has done for his former teams. Can Drew be a starting QB in the NFL; perhaps. I just cannot understand how anybody can justify defending #5 any longer.

I would like to see Evilsmurf to have a more active role on POD. His analysis is a huge benefit to the community and I personally have learned a great deal from him. He does his research and is very articulate. I think Pride of Detroit is a great site and allowing Evilsmurf to have more of an administrative role would only benefit POD.

So if Evil is cool with this, I'd love to see it.

I have heard a lot of predictions for the number of Lions wins this year. If you think Detroit will win 3 games this year, that's cool. Are you in the camp the Lions will win 9 or more games? That is cool also.

My question is what game do you really want to see the Lions win this year?  My wife is a HUGE Packers fan and I have to live with that 24/7/365. (I did get in the prenuptial agreement that our kids will be Lions fans.)   So for me to pick the Lions to beat the Pack would be an easy choice, but that is not my dream win.

The game I would love for the Lions to absolutely win this year is Week 12 vs the Patriots. Destroying New England on Thanksgiving Day would hopefully quite the national media that Detroit does not deserve a Thanksgiving Day game for at least a year.
