8/11 JD - BBall Mishaps

I have never started a Junk Drawer before. But it is almost 2 AM, and I still can't find one, so I'm dripping with  anticipation. I am (was) currently watching Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and despite my attempts to enjoy his show, I am still unamused for the most part. I've already played NBA 2k9 to death this summer, and now I have decided to channel my angst into BE.

So NBA.com has been releasing a steady stream of top 10s for the 2008-2009 season, which I'm sure many people have seen by now. Props to Blazers for appearing in those vids, because it's been too long since we made highlights like that.

If there's one thing I enjoy watching as much as flashy highlights and jaw-dropping dunks, it's failure. I've decided to post my favorite youtube clips of various basketballers failing to succeed.

Obviously there are endless amounts of basketball videos on youtube, but three-fourths of them are made by bored people with a video camera, and most of the rest are painful to watch (like the trampoline/leg one I will not be posting). Feel free to add more, but please keep it un-gruesome.

I tried to find the Zach Randolph crossover, but failed to find a real version of it (only someone's edit).

Look! It's our own Steve Blake!

[Update]: Andre Miller is really an offensive threat, see?

Props to BE

Wasn't sure if this was posted yet, but I thought any recognition post out there would deserve linkage:

They put us at center, which is quite domineering. I mostly like how we're first to appear on the page though.

Eagerly awaiting the elite

Seriously, I've loved the recent winning going on. If the Jazz hadn't been so difficult, and Jerry Sloan so evil, this streak could have easily been 16 now, and I would celebrate life even more.

But personally, I'm really eager to see our team take on some elite (championship) teams, and it looks like Boston will be the first test. I mean, this team looked completely different during the losing skid right before the winning started. Now we're moving the ball and really, winning. At the same time, it feels like we haven't played any of the championship-caliber teams in ages. Playoff teams we've played, but certain teams starting with 's' in the West that aren't the Sonics? I want to see that. February looks like a good place to see that happen, with Detroit, Boston, and Dallas.

Any ideas on what to expect? I'm always interested in matching up with Boston or the Suns. And I'd think people would have different opinions on this. And I just don't care about the Spurs.
