Just such a classy, classy guy. I think we can all agree that Todd Grantham was totally in the wrong for getting in Franklin's face.
Dawg Sports Gains Access To OC Mike Bobo's Playbook
On April 15, 2012, Dawg Sports submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the University of Georgia Athletic Association regarding the contents of Offensive Coordinator Mike Bobo's playbook (also known as "The Green Notebook").
On April 30, 2012, the UGAAA complied with that request. Scans of the materials submitted to Dawg Sports follow:

SBNation's Mocking The Draft High On Georgia In 2013
Just can't get enough draft coverage? Me either.
Mocking The Draft has just published their first 2013 Mock Draft and they seem to think an awful lot of the Georgia Bulldogs:
2. Miami Dolphins - Jarvis Jones - Linebacker - Georgia
8. Buffalo Bills - Aaron Murray - Quarterback - Georgia
That's a Saban-esque draft in terms of Top 10 picks.
Your thoughts?
2012 NFL Draft: Houston Texans Pick Ben Jones
In the fourth round of the NFL Draft, the Houston Texans have used the 99th overall pick to select a player who is going to make their fans, their backfield, and their QB very happy for a long time. That player is Ben Jones, the center from the University of Georgia.
Jones has many qualities that should help him find NFL success. Not the least of these is that he's a little bit nuts... in the best possible way.

That Filthy Barry Sanders Beats Out Herschel For Cover Of NCAA '13
I'd venture to say this is the one and only thing at which Barry Sanders can defeat Herschel Walker.

The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: Georgia Thrown From The Horse At NCEA National Championships
Over the weekend, the Georgia Equestrian team traveled to Waco, TX to compete in the NCEA National Championships. They set off with all the gusto of a young girl ready to ride her Shetland pony. Needless to say, it did not end well.
The weekend left the Georgia riders bruised and broken and the team's season dead as a doornail.
The competitors in Waco were brutal to say the least, including all 3 squads that had defeated the Bulldogs in the 2011-2012 campaign. To learn in greater detail how the Dawgs fared, hit the jump...

** Brought To You By: Elmer's Glue-All -- When It Has To Be Equine, It Has To Be Elmer's **
I'll quickly summarize the Southern Equestrian Championships for those of you who don't want to be bothered with the minutiae of collegiate horse riding:

Anyone interested in the finer points of Saturday's event or the Dawgs' upcoming participation in the NCEA Championship April 12-14, feel free to hit the jump...
The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: Dawgs Defeat Texas Duo, Fall to Okie State
Over the weekend, the #1 ranked Dawg riders went on the road for the final stretch of the equestrian "regular season." It served as an opportunity for the team to prepare for the upcoming Southern and National Championship competitions. It also gave them a precious opportunity to visit one of the twenty Whataburger franchises in the Greater Dallas area. This makes me insanely jealous, though I'm partial to the Belton location. But enough about that**.
If you want the short version it's this: Georgia whipped SMU in Dallas and squeaked by TCU in Ft. Worth before falling to the Cowgirls (Cowgurls?) of Oklahoma State in Stillwater.

A visual interpretation of Saturday's event in Stillwater.

The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: Georgia Takes Its Revenge On Steve Detwiler
This was an action packed weekend if you've got a thing for the ponies (Auburn fans getting all hot and bothered at that statement will be reported to the proper authorities). The #3 Georgia Bulldogs played host to a pair of teams in Bishop, GA on a weekend which saw the Dawgs continue their streak of successful outings. Baylor and Fresno State rode into town with hopes of unseating one of the nation's premier teams. Like so many others, they left bloodied and soundly defeated...
The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: #3 Georgia Completes Conference Sweep With Win Over #1 Auburn
Saturday morning the Dawgs rode into Auburn, AL seeking to sweep the #1 team in the country. The Auburn riders sought to defend their top ranking and hand the Dawgs their second loss of the year. Like Catherine the Great in the myth most commonly associated with her, the Auburn team began the day with the promise of an exciting encounter followed by a spectacular finish. Also like the mythical Catherine, the day ended in their demise...

The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: #2 Georgia Downs #7 South Carolina 11-8
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Bishop, Ga., our beloved Georgia Bulldogs mounted their majestic steeds as they prepared to take on the [Mascot Redacted] Riders of South Carolina. The Bulldogs would leave Bishop with an 11-8 victory, a season sweep of the Gamecocks, and a 7-1 record heading into their matchup with #1 Auburn later this month. However, the Gamecocks didn't go down without a fight and it took some end of match heroics to ensure a Bulldog victory.

ESPN's Way Too Early 2012 SEC Heisman Contenders
Before the first snap of the 2012 season (heck, before the last snap of the 2011 season), Chris Low taps the following as his 2012 SEC Heisman Trophy Contenders: Honey Badger DGAS, Marcus Lattimore, Aaron Murray, Tyler Wilson (emphasis mine).
I've contacted Mark May for a comment, but I still don't have confirmation on whether or not Georgia plays anyone next year.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Bulldog: A Few Things Every Georgia Fan Should Know About LSU
(WARNING: This post was created under the intoxicating influence of Todd Grantham and the Georgia Defense... and is brought to you by the letters K, T, M, F, and D.)
I'm gonna be honest with you. I hadn't planned to write a "Few Things" post about LSU. The primary reason for this being that, until a couple of weeks ago, I didn't believe we'd be facing them. Winning the East and heading to the SEC championship was a big surprise. A pleasant surprise, mind you, but a surprise nonetheless.
In the interest of full disclosure, I really should share something with you. LSU is my second favorite SEC team. Ok, maybe "second favorite" is the wrong way to put it. I hate everybody but Georgia, want them to lose every game they play, and generally want misfortune and misery to befall all of them. I just want this a little bit less when it comes to LSU. I appreciate the style of football they play and I've found their fans to be knowledgeable, friendly, and enjoyable to be around over the years (of course, your mileage may vary).
But you know something? Just because I didn't expect us to be in this position and I don't totally hate LSU doesn't mean I'm off the hook. Here is your weekly helping of facts, fictions, and ramblings. In short, everything you, as a Georgia Bulldogs fan, must know about the LSU Tigers.

Did I Do That?: A Few Things Every Georgia Fan Should Know About Georgia Tech
(Note: This post is meant for people with a sense of humor . If you do not have a sense of humor, please feel free to avoid this article altogether. If you insist on reading it anyway and feel the need to complain in the comments, please identify yourself beforehand as someone with no sense of humor so the author and other blog readers may choose to ignore you accordingly. Addendum: I make no promises about the quality of the jokes, just that they are intended as such.)
This week, as the Georgia Bulldogs prepare to face off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, I will yet again look at various aspects of our upcoming opponent with a little good-natured ribbing thrown in for good measure. Please understand that I am only kidding... sort of.
Georgia and Georgia Tech have a long history of not particularly liking one another. As such, most Georgia fans have an existing knowledge base regarding the Yellow Jackets and their fans. However, I'm guessing that there are several things which you may still not know about Georgia Tech and the average Jacket Fan.

Toast When We Coast & Drink When We Stink: Week 11
For those of us who choose to imbibe, spirits can be a great companion for celebrating a victory and a helpful tool for surviving a loss. As I do every week, I present you with an option for each as the Georgia Bulldogs prepare to take on the Kentucky Wildcats.
When Georgia Wins
Nothing is ever a given in college football. But a game against a team that is giving up an average of 36 points per game against conference foes is about as close as it gets. Should Georgia emerge victorious and bound for the SEC Championship Game, I suggest we embrace the homeland of Saturday's opponent and the coming festivities of Thanksgiving by celebrating with some...
Soy Un Perdedor: A Few Things Every Georgia Fan Should Know About Kentucky
"I'm a loser, baby. So why don't you kill me?"
-- Joker Phillips speaks metaphorically about Kentucky's game at Georgia during a Monday press conference.
This week I'm once again going to stray from the typical format of the "Few Things" post. Don't worry though, I'll be bringing it back full force next week as the Bulldogs prepare for Georgia Tech. This week's opponent, the Kentucky Wildcats, are a program of great tradition with a long and storied history of success. What's that? We're playing them in football? Oh. Well in that case...

Toast When We Coast & Drink When We Stink: Week 10
For those of us who choose to imbibe, spirits can be a great companion for celebrating a victory and a helpful tool for surviving a loss. As I do every week, I present you with an option for each as the Georgia Bulldogs prepare to take on the Auburn Tigers.
When Georgia Wins:
I'm not gonna lie, a victory this weekend would be huge. If you've watched Kentucky play this year, you know that a win against Auburn would essentially clinch the SEC East. Given all that happened last year, I suggest you celebrate beating the crap out of the Tigers with a little...
An Open Letter: A Few Things T. Kyle King Should Know About Auburn
Dear Kyle,
Normally I'd use my weekly forum to discuss our upcoming opponent in absurd fashion, as I attempt to bring my version of humor to the blog. However, this week I felt compelled to address an issue which has been festering here at Dawgsports for quite some time. You've always encouraged a wide variety of viewpoints and perspectives on the blog and you've created an environment in which the writers here feel like equal stakeholders. It is in the spirit of that atmosphere that I feel I must call you out...
You, sir, are a hater. And not just any hater, but the ringleader of a group of haters whose egregious bashing on Auburn University is born only from your ignorance about one of college football's historically elite programs. For the good of the Georgia fanbase and this blog, I feel it is my responsibility to tell you why you are wrong about Auburn. I hope that by the time you finish reading this, you understand why it is critical for us to accept the reality that the Tigers are the pinnacle of the SEC and that continuing to belittle their achievements and accomplishments only serves as a distraction from what should be our demand for a better football program. Once I'm through, it is my sincerest prayer that you will be "all in" (to borrow a phrase from our brethren to the west) with my belief in the need for peace and compromise between the Dawgs and the Tiglesmen...

Toast When We Coast & Drink When We Stink: Week 9
For those of us who choose to imbibe, spirits can be a great companion for celebrating a victory and a helpful tool for surviving a loss. As I do every week, I present you with an option for each as the Georgia Bulldogs prepare to take on the New Mexico State Aggies.
I've been dealing with a small family emergency this week, so I'm going to keep this brief. Georgia isn't losing this game. I don't care if Coach Richt put me in a jersey and stuck me in the backfield, we're not going down to the Aggies. I'm so sure of this that I'm not giving you a drink for when we lose. I'm so sure of this that if I have jinxed us and we lose, I'll eat one of my many Georgia hats... literally (pics to be provided). It ain't happenin'.
When Georgia Wins:
I'm known as the primary purveyor of tired, predictable, hiveminded humor around these parts. As a result, I've chosen to come up with the most predictable, stereotypical suggestion I can think of. Since I know almost nothing about New Mexico, I'm gonna just assume its part of Mexico and suggest that when Georgia beats the Aggies you celebrate with...
TEQUILA! Da Duh Duh, Duh Da Duh, Da Duh!

As always I look forward to hearing your suggestions and your observations on our upcoming opponent. The line to beat me for suggesting Georgia can't lose to NMSU forms to the left.
GO DAWGS!!!
Unusual Suspects: A Few Things Every Georgia Fan Should Know About New Mexico State
Unfortunately, as I scoured the internet for content about Georgia's upcoming opponent, I was shocked to find that there was almost nothing concrete about the Aggies or the school from which they hail. As a matter of fact, as I poured through various websites, I began to have the distinct feeling that Kevin Spacey was sitting across the world wide web from me... constructing little lies and half-truths... concocting a fog of deceit regarding NMSU. Given the flimsy information at my disposal, I was able to come to only one conclusion: Pistol Pete is Keyser Söze.

Toast When We Coast & Drink When We Stink: Week 8
For those of us who choose to imbibe, spirits can be a great companion for celebrating a victory and a helpful tool for surviving a loss. As I do every week, I present you with an option for each as the Georgia Bulldogs prepare to take on the Florida Gators.
When Georgia Wins:
I believe Georgia can win this game. More specifically, I believe Georgia should win this game. We just have to wait a few more hours to find out if Georgia will win this game. If we do, there will be much rejoicing and the beverages will flow freely from Jacksonville to Athens and throughout Georgia. Should this turn out to be the case, it would be entirely appropriate for you to drink...
"History has just not been kind to Georgia against Florida. Fans in Jacksonville might be split up the middle, but it has felt much more like home to the Gators. The Bulldogs have lost three in a row to Florida and 18 of the last 21. Even when this game was played in Athens, Ga., back in 1995, Georgia couldn't get the job done."
- Edward AschoffActually Ed, history is the only thing that's been kind to Georgia against Florida. I know you didn't mention anything prior to 1990, but it turns out they actually played college football earlier in the century. Wait. Where did you go to school Ed? Oh... Florida... and you were hired at ESPN? Shocking!
Chris Low picks the Dawgs to win. Ed Aschoff eats boogers.
Chomp This!: A Few Things Every Georgia Fan Should Know About Florida
If you’ve ever read this weekly feature before, you know that I begin each post with a disclaimer pointing out that all the comments made are in jest. I try to make it clear that I don’t really hold much disdain for the school and state about which I’m writing. I won’t be writing that disclaimer this week. I am not joking. I hold a great deal of disdain toward the subject of this week’s post. To put it in terms that every Yankee transplant/Florida "native" in jorts, a wife beater, and an upside down visor can understand: I be fo realz yo!
Georgia fans and Florida fans have a long and rich tradition of disliking each other. As a result, many of us know way more about the opposing school than any sane person should. However, I’m willing to bet there are a number of things you don’t know about Florida… and if you do know them, it wouldn’t hurt to have a little reminder. It’s Georgia/Florida. Their way of life is inherently wrong and ours is inherently right. It’s Hate Week baby!
So hit the jump while I drop a little knowledge on ya…
Eli's Coming*: Dawgs Defeat BYE, Should Be Ranked Heading Into WLOCP
Saturday was a good day for the Dawgs. Georgia defeated the typically stingy BYE while a number of hated teams fell in what can only be described as epic fashion. But this presents a very real problem: heading into the WLOCP, its highly likely that Georgia will be ranked in the BCS standings.
Georgia currently sits at # 26 (others receiving votes) in the Coaches Poll, #27 (others receiving votes) in the Harris Poll, and #25 in the AP Poll (the one that doesn't count). The Dawgs are unranked in the BCS standings, which suits me just fine from a team mentality standpoint as we prepare to take the field against the hated Gators.
That's probably all about to change...
Your Anti-Florida Repository
As we approach the Bye Week, I find myself directionless since there won't be a "Few Things" or "Toast When We Coast" post this week. I'm sure as the days go by, we'll start getting into the heat of hate week... but I don't see any reason to wait.
If history (post-1990, of course) is any indication, we may not win in Jacksonville in two weeks. What we can unquestionably win, however, is the battle or anger, rage, and mockery. Its time to share all your favorite anti-Florida pictures, stereotypes, and anecdotes.
I'll even get you started with a couple of my favorites:

Please use the comments section as your one stop shop for sharing and storing all your anti-Florida gems. Hopefully Coach Larry won't go all BOOM MF'er on all of us.
GO DAWGS!!!

What Does Georgia Look Like?: In Defense of Todd Grantham's Behavior at the End of the Vandy Game
At the end of Georgia's game with Vanderbilt, Todd Grantham was involved in a scuffle at midfield before the team left the field. In the post game rant thread, many commenters expressed disappointment at his behavior. I believe they are incorrect in their assessment for one reason...

Toast When We Coast & Drink When We Stink: Week 7
For those of us who choose to imbibe, spirits can be a great companion for celebrating a victory and a helpful tool for surviving a loss. As I do every week, I present you with an option for each as the Georgia Bulldogs prepare to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores
When Georgia Wins:
I've already gone on the record as saying Georgia wins this one, so I'm gonna try to make this week's celebratory beverage something everyone can enjoy. When Georgia's defense dominates and Georgia's offense tries its hardest not to screw things up too bad, good things generally happen. If that's the case on Saturday night, celebrate with a little concoction I like to call a...
