"No signs or posters appeared on campus this week to encourage the Stanford football team. The Farm, as they call it, remains abuzz with talk of academic pursuits and social gatherings unrelated to the big game. Andrew Luck, the nation's most high profile college athlete, walks among his peers with little or no fanfare. There's talk that the crowd Saturday for ESPN's "College GameDay" might actually set a record low for attendance, what with the early morning start and apathetic nature toward football of the Stanford students." ::slapsforehead:: The full article can be found here.

Vote Andrew Luck for O'Brien Award

This week's feature game showcases two O'Brien semi-finalists, Stanford's Andrew Luck and Oregon's Darron Thomas. As part of the voting, fans account for 5% of the vote count and are able to cast a vote online. The Davey O'Brien award is given out annually to the nation's best collegiate quarterback, as voted on by fans, journalists, broadcasters, and former winners. Currently, Andrew Luck sits in 11th place (!) amongst the fans.

Washington-Stanford set for 5PM PT on ABC REGIONAL

3

With ESPN College Gameday choosing the Wisconsin-Michigan State game as their feature game of the week, and with that kickoff set at the same time as the Pac-12's feature game, ESPN has decided to show the UW-MSU game exclusively on ESPN. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem because of ESPN/ABC/ESPN2 mirroring games. However, with ESPN2 choosing to broadcast Tennesse-Alabama at 7:15PM ET and ABC/ESPN contractually obligated to also show Texas Tech-Oklahoma, this means that some of those 8PM/5PM PT games are going to be shown only on ESPN3 in some parts of the country. ESPN hasn't released their coverage maps yet, but I'm thinking that East Coast Cardinal and Husky fans should prepare themselves for an internet-only broadcast of the game Saturday night.
