TV/Timings set for Baylor and OU games
Both games on FSN.
Expectations vs Performance
This is only w.r.t. the two toughest teams in our conf: UT and OU.
2002 - We beat Texas and now the game @ OU is huge. If we win, we win the big 12 south outright for the first time! High expectations. Result @ OU: 15-60 L
2003 - No expectations since the game is at Austin. Result @ UT: 40-43 L
2004 - No expectations again since the game is at Norman and OU is undefeated. Result @ OU: 13-28 L
2005 - Tech is undefeated and top 10 ranked. High expectations. Result @ UT: 17-52 L
2006 - Tech has lost 4 games already. No expectations. Result @ OU: 24-34 L
2007 - UT is ranked 7th and game is at Austin. Again, no expectations. Result @ UT: 43-59 L (wud've been closer if not for the cheat-fest)
2008 - Tech has one of the best seasons in school history. School record-breaking #2 ranking. This games wins the south outright. High expectations. Result @ OU: 21-65 L
So guys, what do you think? Our guys don't show up for away games against UT and OU when expectations are high. Otherwise they do. They don't win but they keep it fairly close. This Sat the expectations aren't exactly high. Do you think we have a chance?
***UPDATE***
2009 - Tech has a new starting QB whose first road game is in front of the largest crowd in the state of Texas against a #2 team. Tech travels to Austin leaving behind 3 out of their 4 DEs and 1 starting SS. No expectations. Result @ UT: 24-34 L
In 2011, I'm gonna be writing a 'W' here I'm sure. Guns up!

BCS bowl berth assured?
With 2 regular season games left to play, let us assume a realistic worst-case scenario where we beat Baylor (which is not as easy as it used to be) and lose to Oklahoma.
So now with a record of 11-1 (7-1), does Texas Tech get an at-large bid to a BCS bowl? The eligibility rule (source: http://www.bcsfootball.org/bcsfb/eligibility) says a team qualifies if it has 9 or more wins, is ranked in the top 14 and there are less than 10 automatic bids (which should happen). Tech should easily be ranked in the top 14 even if they lose to Oklahoma.
So is our BCS bowl confirmed? Or is it too soon to tell?
