West Virginia would owe FSU $500,000 if they leave Big East early

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that if West Virginia succeeds at getting into the Big XII Conference in 2012, the requirement to play a ninth conference game would force them to back out of a scheduled non-conference game at Florida State. They would owe the Seminoles a penalty of $500,000.
