ESPN Fact or Fiction: OKC is the team to beat in the West. Adande: Fiction. Gotta go with the team that no one has beaten in these playoffs, the Spurs. They match up well with the Thunder and also would have home-court advantage if they played. Could the Thunder beat the Spurs possession-for-possession? Not the way the Spurs looked this weekend. Gutierrez: Fact: It's probably a coin toss between the Thunder and Spurs, but the slight edge goes to the team with the more unstoppable scorer in Durant and the game-changing rim protector in Serge Ibaka. OKC can match San Antonio's scoring runs, whereas the Clippers and Jazz had no chance. A. Kamenetzky: Fiction. I haven't verified this with ESPN Stats & Info, but the Spurs are currently riding a 753-game winning streak, right? They're also ridiculously deep, with one helluva Big Three and the NBA's best coach. Maybe the Thunder will be the ones to alter this perception, but for now, the Spurs look unbeatable. B. Kamenetzky: Fiction. The Spurs haven't lost in 17 years. They were the better team down the stretch of the regular season, have dominated the postseason and will have home-court advantage. OKC has a great chance to win a title this year, but right now San Antonio has to be considered the favorite. McMenamin: Fiction. Last I checked, San Antonio is still undefeated in the postseason and has the best coach in basketball on their side. God I hate this Gutierrez guy....Can't wait to prove him wrong when we get to the Finals !

5on5 ESPN - San Antonio Spurs winning it all?

Surprisingly good article on ESPN....although I must say, I hate this Israel Guttierez guy....The standards for becoming an ESPN analyst are definitely not high I guess....but nonetheless, a lot of great points...enjoy the article guys :) Here's a brief snippet ! 4. A fifth Spurs title in 14 seasons would be ______________. Abbott: Very hard on LeBron. Also on Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Garnett and all those other players who, because of age or reputation, need this one. Arnovitz: Further validation. Gutierrez: The gold standard for small-market teams everywhere. Stein: Embarrassing for those of us who not only wrote 'em off for the umpteenth time coming into this season but also continue to ignore them. Still can't understand why there's so little chatter out there about Duncan chasing his fifth championship. LeBron's first ring or Kobe's sixth ring is all we talk about. When Duncan's drive for No. 5 is the most likely to happen. Windhorst: Crowning. They won four titles and narrowly lost out on a fifth, but because three of them were between more high-profile Lakers runs, they have not properly earned the attention for what they've accomplished. If they add that fifth one, Duncan, Ginobili and Parker need to be elevated to the same conversations as Magic, Kareem and Worthy, Jordan and Pippen, and Russell, Cousy and Heinsohn.

Obviously, the only guy who knows what he's talking about is Skip ! We've always been a playoff team, and just because of what happened last season, when Timmy was basically hobbling, and Manu played with one arm, so called "sports analysts" and an awful rapper call the Spurs a "regular season team"..... But I like Skips defense....he totally called it ! GO SPURS GO !
