Dear Joe Girardi......(Pinstripe Flags, Not White Ones)
Dear Joe:
It's been ages since I've pulled out my feather pen. I truly believe your favorite starter Allan James is beyond counsel, so I turn my attention to you. We (or most) Yankees fans are baffled at the way you've managed some stuff lately. Its kinda strange. You seem to have a "fuggit" mentality. That woudl be fine if your last name was Showalter, but by God that a$$hole even plays to win. Not saying you don't, but you clearly cherish the Red Sox playing and losing before the Yank's gametime, using that motive to cleverly, masterfully, and most wizardly clusterfuck our team into losses. For instance, you know AJ needs support. So a hurt Nick Swisher, and the scorching .194 bat (since activated) of Alex Rodriguez were the only regular starters on Thursday? Really? The opener in Anaheim. Laffey sux to me. Doesn't belong in a one run game IMO. Stop it. Stop acting like the division lead is 7.5 not 2.5. Since you love expirements, imagine having a chem class beaker filled to the brim with acid. Yes. Now picture having aformentioned beaker shoved up your a**. That's the sensation mismanaging causes some fans. Please stop. S**t is real Joe. S**t is real.
Thank You Kindly,

Dear 2011 New York Yankees......
Dear 2011 NYY:
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, here we are again. Expectations always high, lineup set, rotation all locked in. The Bronx Bombers are back. So many storylines to read, its almost overwhelming. Farewell to an ace, a missed oppurtunity on another, new faces, milestones, lineup changes, rebound years and newfound bullpen muscle. Division rivals have upped the ante, but there lies no fear here. I really feel good about you all, and I have to all but promise I will perform celebratory (but masculine) cartwheels once all the talking heads and four letter network doubters, haters, morons and dumb dumbs are put to shame. It feels good to be a fan of a club who ALWAYS has that chance. Let the naysayers proclaim what they must, but YOU ARE ALWAYS THE TEAM TO BEAT. So let's have a fantastic baseball season! Should you fail, I wouldn't be me if I didn't warn you all of catastrophic mood changes, traditional name calling live and in HD, decreased sexual desire, diminished work performance, abuse of potent libations and or illegal greenery. Not me personally, but I'm just saying. But I trust none of the above will be necessary. Let's go get em boys! #28 awaits! (S**t is real)

Dear Cliffy Lee.... (Please Fwd to The Good Phight)
Dear Cliffy:
We the fans have appreciated the way you hogtied our nutsacks this offseason. Apparently Mystique & Aura are not appealing to you in the slightest. No problemo, we made a valiant effort to forgive what you've done to our team in recent years and even provided extra singles for you to party in the "Champagne Room" after we won it all together had you come to the Bronx. You obviously don't like the Yankees or the thought of playing here. That's fine, I just hope you don't mind the thought of rotten stadium sandwiches of the knockoff cheesesteak variety pelted in your direction if anyone gets an open shot. Now I noticed the Phillies don't come to the Bronx in 2011, unless they meet in November, so you're safe....for now. By the way, I always thought you were an a*****e.
Your welcome,

Dear 2010 Postseason Yankees
Dear 2010 Yankees:
I feel hoodwinked. Bamboozled. Mystifyed. Granted, the dominance of the Twins was expected, and the brooms
came out, and it was on to round two. There was a freebie given in Games 1&2 when the dominant Master Lee
was luckily avoided. Oppurtunity was at an all time high, the games were played and split, but there still seemed
to be something unsettling about you all. Not many of you, or quite frankly any of you are playing Yankee playoff
baseball. You've managed to take the home fans out of it, Wall Street Journal suits and beer chuggers alike
you've managed to pitch at a little league level, and hit as if the ball transforms to a soda pop cap only when you
all are at bat. That's funny because while Texas is at bat, the ball seems to resemble f****** beach ball proportions.
So much can be said about you in the negative variety that I don't know where to start. You can take a peek at Ed's
"Kudos and Wet Willies" game by game and probably find your name at least once.(Except you Robbie). Its not even
about winning it for "The Boss" anymore. Its about not being humiliated. I'd appreciate it if you won today and went
on to make this series respectable, and show some championship pride and moxy. S*** is real fellas, 3-1 is very
real. Tell me this is all a joke, because you've been laughable enough.
Thanks,

Dear Joe Girardi....
Dear Joe G,
Not feeling so hot this fine afternoon are ya? Have you read or listened to any NY media? Reading the posts on PA? Yeaaaa. Ouch. Big ouch. Your paycheck does still say New York Yankees right? Okay just checking. Look, I know you think Chad Gaudin is a pretty decent baseball name, kinda like Bull Durham or Ricky Vaughn etc etc, but this is not the movies. I'm not quite sure what CIA documents Sergio Mitre is holding for ransom on you, but I strongly suggest you forward the briefcase and pay the man off of our team. In the court of Yankee fan opinion, your charges are: not managing to win important games, overextending lackluster performers that you personally waste roster spots on, taking the cheese off of your pizza when you eat it, and postgame interview answers that are more evasive than Michael Jordan's after he started winning s***. Ok, ok, ok the playoffs give you a chance at the trophy, fine. But we ain't in yet, and this four game skid during qualifying month wreaks of Bronx public restroom on New Year's Eve. You do what you have to do and fix it. Fix it now or enjoy deep dish pies while you manage at Wrigley next year. Manage. And manage better. The talent is there. Utilize it and get the fire burning. That's all.
Thank You,

Slow Clap For Marcus Thames
"I'm just getting a chance to get in there more often, I was telling the guys, every year I go through one of these things....It feels good, especially since we're winning ballgames".........
-Marcus Thames, after yesterday's 11-5 victory
The Old Gang
Dear Mark Teixeira...........
Dear Tex,
Let me first start by saying thank you for being one of our best defensive first basemen in recent memory. By God, Tino and Donnie are in no way easy spikes to fill. Thats where my gratitude ends in this letter my friend.
On this offday Yankee players, coaches, execs and fans are all searching for reasons why the team has stunk of late, and you better believe some of it has to do with you being 3 for your last 26 ,a .378 SLG percentage,a .209BA ,overall (lowest among everyday players), around .180 hitting from the left side.....need I go on? Your bat, like your glove is of great importance to this team and the "late starter" excuse is horseshit at this juncture.
Since that excuse has become a crutch the past few years, how about you start collecting your salary say......Memorial Day weekend, and play for free from Opening Day until then? KLong says you're "not exploding" at the plate. My dear chum, if you can't figure this out and get right in the batter's box and make us feel good about you again, don't be stunned by an explosion of boos from the stands at home May 28. I'll be there, and I'll lead the way. We need all 9 guys in this order to function, yes but you have 20,625,000 reasons why YOU should be. Godspeed #25, Godspeed.

CAN WE GET SOME???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
So What's It Gonna Take To......?

Look like Champs again? As I said earlier...am I in panic mode, no. Heavily concerned, yes. It will be all tall order to overtake the division from TB at this point, seeing it as they look even better than they did in 2008.
I think our Yankees do need to get healthy and establish themselves as what kind of team they really are ASAP. The come from behind magic isn't really there. The clutch hitting, bullpen arent present, so what's it gonna take to look like champs again?
May Struggles of Derek Jeter

Any baseball fan knows that its the nature of the game for players and teams to slump, stumble and have woes. With that said, Yankee fan expectations always seem to have a smaller window for difficulties.
So does anyone have any idea why Jeter's slump is what it is? (0 for 8 yesterday, 7 for 47 in May, .148 BA) Could it possibly be a nagging injury? Are the ABs different? I don't see anything, just wondering if anyone else does.
Dear Javy Vazquez...........
Javier Vazquez: 9.78 ERA, 1W 3L, 20Ks, 2.04 WHIP.
"When Rivera made his first appearance of the year Tuesday night, the Yankees achieved a unique distinction -- 16 straight seasons in which a particular trio of teammates(Jeter,Posada,Rivera) played together. No other team in major league baseball, the NFL, NBA or NHL has done that."
espn.com
For The Emotional Yankee Fan
Like myself.......at times. Losing Hideki Matsui to the California (yes California) Angels sucks on so many levels. This would be my second favorite lefthanded slugger to be shipped off to this team. (Check Username for reference). The warrior Mats was, the consistency before injury, and the class act he was throughout his time in pinstripes. And oh yea, the last time we watched a Yankee game,he wasn't bad either.
John Lackey to the Red Sox: Would've been good to get him, but we didn't........Move on. It makes the Red Sox better yes, but doesn't gurantee anything.
Roy Halladay to Philly: The only thing wrong with this to "the emotional fan" is that we didn't get him. Once again not assuring anything, but at least he didn't go to Boston.
Were you guys like me last night? When you heard there was a three team deal with the Phillies, Mariners and...............(blank) Were you hoping by God's graces Cliff "call me Bruce" Lee came to the Yankees? Ok far fetched. But this is for the emotional fan.
How about this? Last week most of us praised the genius of Brian Cashman after the Granderson move. Now we bash him today for letting the Angels bag Godzilla for 6.5 milli. I'm not thrilled about it either, but maybe we should trust the guy.
We'll be fine sportsfans. I do think that everything that happened yesterday just happened fast, and seemingly all at once, all having drastic effect on the Yankees in some shape or form. But keep in mind, WE ARE THE TEAM TO BEAT. Everybody is gunning for US. I doubt that the powers that be will field a team not ready to defend the title. Pitchers and catchers don't report for what? Another 60, 70 days? Lets just fall back and watch what happens.
So What Next?
So now one of the top CFs in the AL (on and off the field) is a New York Yankee. So what's next?
Lock up Andy Pettitte? Sign Lackey? Sign Halladay or Holliday for the holiday? Tighten up the bullpen? Its good to see our boy Brian Cashman "shake it up, and set it off" dring these Winter Meetings. Even a World Series winning organization is staying hungry. I love it!
Like one of you guys said, "this is getting good....."
In Cashman we Trust.
Dear 2009 World Champs......(The Thank You Card)
Dear Champs,
Man that sounds good. Feels good. Feels like home again. You ALL gave we the fans something to feel great about this season. And for as many Yankee fans that are with me on this one, I wanna give you guys a standing ovation. I was overseas on vacation when you guys pulled it off, but I'm sure the entire cruise ship heard me and my gf's "let's go yankees" handclaps and chants throughout. (a cruise ship that had a Yankee themed sports bar!!!!!-----how sweet is that?!!!!) What a season, from the 15 walkoffs, the 50 some odd come from behind wins, Mo's 500th save vs the Mets, Jeet's record, or the division clincher vs the BoSux, it was tailor made to come to this point. So since I didn't get to celebrate with my fellow bloggers on this site that night, here's a belated cheers.
Thanks boys, can't wait til spring.

P.S.-I know somebody in that organization is reading these pyschotic cyber fanmails. GO YANKS!!!!!!
Jiggaman & The Yanks
What is more New York than hip hop kingpin Jay-Z? What team is more New York than the Yankees? No one and nothing. Before and after Jay and Alicia Keys' peformance before Game 2, my favorite rapper of all-time had some interesting comments about the team and the new stadium. If you are familiar with any of Jay's latest music, there is a wincing point in his song "Empire State of Mind" when he says......."he made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can"------uh,try again Hov, but you still my man. Dear Nick Swisher.........(off the request line)
Dear Swish,
I must be coo-coo for doing this right? Oh no my friend. Only the Fab 4 will never, ever, ever, ever get a letter
from me. They've earned their stripes. Not because you had the best "pie pose" , do the most candid and
awesome postgame interviews turn up a Sony boombox, and made us forget about Xavier Nady means that you
are allowed to hit like a blind man. 4 for 32? Are you insane? Do you not understand what cap you wear? We have 2
seasons in these parts my friend. You have to play well in both to be accepted. And what is this I hear about you
taking hitting advice from wifey? Awwww man. That's cool and all, but unless she EVER coached softball at the very
least, you gotta politely chuckle those hitting tips off. Kevin Long is your guy. Work it out, or ride pine.My advice is
chugg a couple of those Red Bulls or 5 Hour Energys or both, and pretend its April again. I mean, you haven't even
been a threat on the road. What gives dude? Lets go. We got champagne to pop brotha. Expensive kind too.

Game 2 Pitching Matchup......(Blank vs Pedro Martinez)

I'd go with the guy in the picture. What do you guys think? He's been the more reliable guy this postseason thus far. Now you'll say: If it ain't broke don't fix it. Yea, yea, not so fast. What if A.J decides to break this round? Joe doesn't care for throwing back to back leftys, but would you mind it?
If A.J does face Pedro in Game 2, expect a 9-8, 10-8, 7-6 or 55-41 final score perhaps. But Andy was fantastic on Sunday, and if you've been watching him all these years, when he's on.....its time to ride the wave. How about it sports fans? Andy Game 2? Or stick with A.J?
The 2009 Postseason Tale of the Tape
Andy: 3 starts; 19.0 IP,17 hits;5R;5ER,7BB 15K,2-0
A.J: 3 starts; 18.1IP,14 hits;9R,9ER,10BB,13K,0-0
Additional notes: A.J is better at home, but Andy fared a tad better when we played the Phillies in May,although he didn't factor into the decision ........... A.J vs Philly...not so much. But it was 1 start apiece.
Dear Phil Hughes.......
Dear Phil,
Truth be told,I have no reason to be as rough on you as I was A.J, Joba or Joe "no cheese, just sauce and
crust" Girardi. But I'm thinking I offended you in my Dear 2009 New York Yankees letter by addressing you
collectively as part of the bullpen and not as an individual. My mistake. You've made your point. All us Yankee
fans realize in order for this thing to go smooth, you have to be on the $$$. As evidence of Sunday's rollercoaster, It
would not be fair to put Mo in the circumstance of getting 6 outs frquently IMO. He can't be the setup AND the closer!!
This is where you come in. Now these Philadelphia Phillies are fastball hitters, so I need you to be even more
deceptive with that 12 to 6 hook. Oh my dear youngster, sabotage of this title mission could lead you from the
moniker of "Phil the Phranchise" to "F****n Phil Hughes". I don't want that. Do you? Let's get Philthy again!!!!
Thanks Buddy,

ESPN Analyst & Sportswriter Irony

Yankee fans: Just an FYI, the following ESPN analysts and writers chose the ALCS to be decided as such:
Steve Phillips....Yanks in 7
Buster Olney.......Yanks in 5*
Peter Gammons.......Yanks in 7*
Karl Ravech.........Yanks in 7
Jayson Stark.........Yanks in 7*
Tim Kurkjian.............Yanks in 7*
(* indicates also picked Yankees to win World Series)
Ironic how everybody is a believer now. The other day a co worker of mine told me he's "on the bandwagon"....problem is, I KNOW he's a Red Sox fan...a diehard one. I almost threw up.
Now thinking back to spring training, about 75% of these nimcumpoops' bet against the Yankees to even go this far............jokes on you...... terds....... Da da da....da da da
The REAL 2009 ALCS X Factor........Jorge Posada?

So former Yankee manager now Baseball Tonight analyst Buck Showalter made an interesting point of issuse last night. If Joe Girardi does go with the 3 man pitching rotation as planned, that puts Jorge Posada to catch a probable 5 of 7 games this series.(if necessary) His main concern was Jorge's apparent but sudden inability to play consistently on defense, handle wild pitches and most importantly for this Angels club, throw out baserunners.
I have a little bit more faith in Posada than that. I hope I'm right. What do you think sportsfans? It seems like people are acting like he can't catch anymore. Which is crazy to me. This is not Jason Varitek folks. Do you doubt Jorgie?
BIG UH OH-----Great News!!!! Turn Your Sarcasm Detectors On
For those Yankee fans that are virtually developing nervous twitches, uneasiness, boredom and anticipation for Friday's 2009 ALCS kickoff..............pump the breaks,be prepared to be a skeptic or sad to say, possibly be disappointed. Why you ask? Check this out:
NYC Weather Forecast for Thursday, the all important Friday and even Saturday:
Thu October 15: Showers,Hi 50/Lo 41, Chance of Precipitation: 90%
Fri October 16: Few Showers,Hi 45/Lo 40,Chance of Precipitation: 60%
Sat October 17: Few Showers,Hi 51/Lo 43,Chance of Precipitation: 60%
And why isn't there a roof on a billion dollar stadium again? In the Northeast. For a team that plans on playing in October/November every year? Just fantastic.

Who Needs A Title More?
8 wins and counting Yankee fans. I encourage any of you: If you had any superstitions or rituals this year so far, keep doing them. I personally have taken brief game notes since early May (around the time ARod came back) and the team has just kept coming on as the months go on.
I would love for the team to get the title won in 10 games, but that is probably a stretch. This LAA series may very well go 6 or 7 itself. We'll just have to wait and see.
But a question crossed my mind this morning...................
*******************************************************************************************************************************
Which player on this Yankee team who HAS NOT won it all before needs this World Series win the most? It goes without saying that we're rooting for a TEAM here. But when its all said and done, who on the roster needs a championship to solidify or kickstart their Yankee legacy?
.
You could say: Hideki Matsui. He's been to the World Series in his rookie campaign of 2003 but never won it all. Next to the Fab four of Jeter,Posada,Mo and Pettitte (ignore Andy's time with Houston) he's had the longest tenure in the Bronx.

Or you could say: Alex Rodriguez. We are well aware of the king size career stats and the quest for Yankee acceptance since 2004, and the tough times etc etc, but Alex has never even got a chance to go to the "Big Dance".

Or do you say the two new aces? According to Brian Cashman, these two guys were the remedy for the Rasners, Ponsons and underdeveloped Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy we had to live with last season.
So Pinstripe Alley,I ask you,who needs to win it all?
You Can't Tell Me the Ghosts Aren't There Now

If I'm an opposing team and manager,in the back of my mind I'm thinking that if I'm playing the Yankees at that stadium, this year, there is an 85 to 90% chance that I'm eventually going to lose the game I'm in no matter what. Its become automatic to expect these unbelievable things to happen. And after the 2.88 second Tex" Message forwarded to millions of TBS viewers last night, I have the feeling there are a few more to come.
Just wanted to say GREAT WIN again, GREAT TEAM to root for,and cheers to 9 more!
And oh yea, out of the last 7 Yankee postseason walkoff HRs, (take away the 2 that were already in the World Series, and include Mark Teixeira's last night.....you have 4 teams (possibly a 5th) that ALL went to the fall classic.
2009 ALDS- Mark Teixeira off Minnesota
2003 ALCS -Aaron Boone off Boston
2001 ALCS-Alfonso Soriano off Seattle
1999 ALCS- Bernie Williams off Boston
1996 ALDS -Bernie Williams off Baltimore
No Mas. (As In No More Damaso Marte)
I don't see it. I never have. He just doesn't fit to me. At least not for almost 4 million this year. I will say he isn't totally incapable of doing the job,but I will say he appears to be a postseason liability. I just don't see how you bring an "ok" reliever back in August, have him undergo a few less than stellar outings, and expect that to transfer to success in October? Let us rewind to last night and remember if Phil Cuzzi wasn't temporarily blind, Marte would've potentially given up the go ahead run.
Once again,I have to wonder where the vote of confidence from Girardi came from putting him on the playoff roster. Was having Phil Coke as the only lefthanded RP that much of a risk?
The numbers (regular season)
13 IP
14R
14ER
1.58 WHIP
9.45 ERA
.120 AVG,.214 OBP vs Leftys

Yea buddy,time to kick rocks.
At Least It Isn't Saturday AJ

No excuses for Mr.Burnett tonight. He's at his home park. Check. It's sort of a night game. Check. He has his catcher of choice in Jose Molina(although he vehemently denies having anything to do with Girardi's decision)Check. And maybe most importantly it IS NOT SATURDAY,which has been his worst day to pitch.(see site archive for Saturday Isn't Your Day A.J Part Deux)
I value the importance of Game 2 just as much as I did Game 1. I think the Twins will show up more prepared to play and rested following the off day. It would be comforting to get a big lead early IMO. Besides A.J's pitching performance, and after watching Game 1, what are your other keys to victory for tonight's Game 2 if any?
Time To Close The Metrodome
Now that we finally know who the heck we're playing tomorrow, its business time. I gotta believe that after dueling for 12 count em', 12 innings tonight, the Twins don't have much left. But stranger things have happened and I'll never underestimate ANY squad. But you can't argue that this playoff run is shaping up to be tailor made for the Bombers......First the AL wins the all-star game giving homfield to an AL park. Then they win the division, shaping the other ALDS to be Boston vs LAA.....now a possibly rundown Minnesota team comes to town....I mean, what else can go right?
<!--
Dear 2009 New York Yankees...........
Dear 2009 New York Yankees,
Ahhhh yes, and now the fun begins. Being the fanatical fan that I am, I'm fortunate to
have this time of year to look forward to 14 out of 15 years. That's half my life! My team of choice doesn't play in DC,
KC,CIN, or @ Wrigley. It's hard for me to say congratulations for anything, because in my mind this is one step of
four.(Playoff berth,Division Series win,ALCS win,World Series win) I imagine it being tough as a player on the
winningest sports franchise in American history. However, we need this one. Contrary to popular belief, it
is almost equally tough being a Yankee fan believe it or not. We defend, we justify, we brag, we go as high as a fan
can go, and obvious by the turn of the century---as low as you can go. But enough with the (expletive) lows. Need
I refresh?: 2008 was a playoff blackout, 07 Mother Nature played a strong hand,06,05 and 02 were just awful---and
needless to say 2004,2003 and 2001 were the worst---I've sought therapy for the last trio. So the trend of ending the
year much too soon is now of the past. As a fellow blogger of mine put it, the new Deathstar has been built and "The
Empire" has returned. I donot, I repeat DONOT want my fellow fans to be the punchline of off-season jokes, Over the
Monster banter, lost wages, forced apparel burning or opposing team cap wearing or any other hideous acts of
blasphemy after champagne dreams in November have been flushed down the stinkbowl. Think about it, if this
were to turn out bad.............how do you bring pies back in 2010? Who would care? I offer this letter as Skip reads it
in the clubhouse aloud as a swift ninja kick to the seat of the pinstriped pants. So as insurance, I've comprised a
table of "Dos and Don'ts" for each and every player of modest significance as we push for title 27. Search for your
names fellas, follow suit.
Thanks Kindly,

Jeter,Derek--- Do: Just be classic Derek Jeter, hit clutch, field,jump-throw,run the bases, lead the squad. BE YOU.
Don't: Hit into a lot of dps,get k'd too much, prove the doubters right or limit yourself.
Damon,Johnny---Do: Remember how you shoved it Str8 up our rectum in the 2oo4 ALCS? Yea,do that, but to other teams.
Don't: Crash into walls and hurt yourself, throw like a sissy,or give the team a reason to NOT bring you back.
Teixeira,Mark---Do: You're a Gold Glover IMO,keep that up.Your first Yankee year has been very impressive,I look at you as almost a co-captain. Play your game on both sides, you'll be fine.
Don't: Start the playoffs like you did the regular season.
Rodriguez,Alex---Do: Dare I say you've been clutch? Yes you have. You wear that well. Stick with that formula and we'll leave you alone for good.......maybe.
Don't: Freeze up,overthink, reflect on your past misfortunes or galavant with KHud too much.
Matsui, Hideki---Do: Bring the "lefty killer" stroke. Bring your plate patience and clutch bat. Godzilla lives.
Don't: Swing at bouncers, SO with 2 outs, give the fans a reason to remember you have bad knees.
Posada,Jorge---Do: Bring your passion, bring your fire, bring your huge bat. And oh yea...block the damn plate and lets throw out some runners!
Don't: Let them run on you at all if you can help it. No teams in this tourney needs extra help.
Cano,Robinson---Do: Hit with RISP,falsh the leather, that great arm and wonderful swipe tag. You're the top 2B in the league. Put it on display.
Don't: Show your youth, try to be a hero, try to hit for power all the time (although capable)let the game come to you.
Swisher,Nick---Do: Be the patient hitter you are. Drive up opposing pitch counts,be dangerous.Be cocky and charismatic for the TBS and FOX cameras. Hit at home AND on the road.
Don't: Stink up RF. or forget how to get on base.
Cabrera,Melky---Do: You've been an unlikely offensive hero this year,so continue the trend my friend. Bring that gun of an arm and be on target for plays at the plate.
Don't: Ruin the most cherished position in team history.
Gardner,Brett---Do: Run,run, steal bags, get on base...run....run...run some more. Cover ground when you are in the OF as you do so well.
Don't: Get hurt running.

Don't: Be scared to actually get a hit. And don't make us wonder what Cervelli would've done.
Hairston Jr,Jerry---Do: Make stellar defensive plays, or be a base running resource when needed. Bring your depth.
Don't: Make us wonder why we didn't get that 5th starter at the deadline.
Hinske,Eric---Do: Get some XBHs---you are here to hit,do it when asked.
Don't: Let Girardi let you go anywhere near the OF.
Sabathia,CC---Do: You are the key. You will set the tone EVERY series. Just continue to stay in ace mode.
Don't: Lose a decision. You lose, everyone might panic.
Burnett,A.J---Do: Read my previous letter before every start. Keep your focus under control and let your actual pitching match your stuff....just nasty.
Don't: Listen to the voices in your dome. Walk too many or cash in big innings.....we don't want it, don't need it. Please stop it.
Pettitte,Andy---Do: Lead the staff with your experience. Stay crafty. Bring the cutter, curve and change.
Don't: Beat yourself up or lose confidence. We need you.
Chamberlain,Joba---Do: Whether you start or relieve, also refer back to my previous letter. Find your potential and promise from here on out. Cease the moment. Embrace your emotions. Do that spinning, yelling, fist pump thing often.
Don't: Ignite even more debates on Pinstripe Alley. I've got nothin left for it personally.
The Bullpen---Do: Ace, you and Chad protect the leads and hold them. Work long quality if needed. Robertson, you come back and be healthy and effective. Bruney, Marte.....go home and watch. Coke, get the ball to Hughes.
Dont: Do the opposite of what I just said. There is more invested in you than you all realize.
Rivera,Mariano---Do: BE DOMINANT. PERIOD. DON'T SCARE US.(No Flashbacks of Alomar,Ortiz, or Gonzalez) BE SHUTDOWN MO.
Don't: Be vulnerable.
P.S---------Follow these keys my friends, and #27 and the Canyon of Heroes await..................
