So, I need a favor..
I really doubt anyone here remembers me, but I used to be a much more solid contributor a couple years ago, but I haven't stopped checking BGN and giving it my set daily number of hits for alittle over three years; I was in Dubai then visiting my sister and had no TV coverage of the Eagles. I live in Atlantic City so i usually have a good amount of people and resources to learn about the Eagles from in addition to BGN.
Now I am visiting my other sister in Cairo.. Once again, I am left with no television or peer coverage on what the Eagles are doing.. so I rely heavily on BGN to get me through those sleepless nights where I wonder who's doing good in training camp.. are they going to keep Laws.. how soon is Maclin going to practice again.. has Castillo had enough time to create enough 3 CB looks to pacify Asante, Nnamdi, and Dominique..
A great feature that a blog possesses is the ability to ask a large number of people for something.. and this leads me to ask: Does anyone have any idea where I can maybe stream or watch a replay of the Eagles v. Steelers game? I'm so hyped about what they've done this offseason and I'm willing to pay to see them in a game setting while I'm here in Egypt.
Why I love BGN
Let me give you an impersonal bio of myself. I came to this blog around the very beginning of free agency in 2008 when I was dying to know what would happen with the rumors of signing the class's hottest free agent: Asante Samuels. Also I kept hearing things from my gym teacher about us working out a trade with Arizona because they were having trouble with the contract that Fitzgerald had. I don't remember if he wanted more money or they were like "oh crap we gave him too much" and needed to restructure.. I don't remember. Anyways, I could easily watch ESPN and look at the bottomline on there to see what news was happening but ALAS!!!! I was in Dubai, which is in a country called United Arab Emirates, visiting my sister and her family. Beautiful place btw.. anyway, so ESPN wasn't really an option in a country named Dubai so I realized that I must find some kind of way to be updated with the Eagles happenings so I typed in "asante samuels eagles" in Google and bleedinggreennation.com came up. This is what started my relationship with this blog and we haven't looked back :) . I remember the interactions that I had with members back then, yophillybro kept saying how awesome my picture was because it was of an Eagles branded pair of Reeboks. NorthPhillyKid was someone else that I commented back and forth with. I remember those two from back then. I'm pretty sure I remember Whodie also because I remember that he had that picture with the monkey from family guy.
Now I'm not sure exactly what the statistics are but I can tell you that I very rarely put up fanposts, I choose to more or less observe and read and enjoy instead of put up fanposts or fanshots. I occasionally comment but I read much more than I let on. I love everything that this site has to offer. I love every single thing about this blog now. I've seen this blog grow, and actually started looked at the sitemeter back when I first started visiting the site and keep checking back with it and have noticed the incredible growth that we've undergone. I love everything though about this site and I just wanted to make a random post about it. From the posts of why Maclyn suckskss (I think the poster literally killed himself though..) to the beautiful writing styles of Bye,Dawk :( to the things that JIBTA says. I love everything about this blog. Oldas is hilarious btw. Actually a lot of people on here are hilarious. It somewhat helped me through 2 breakups and a huge carcrash.. I love this site and i've worked every single Sunday the past NFL season so I've watched probably a total of 4 quarters of Eagles football, this site is the only reason I still follow them. I love this site. Thank you JasonB. Thank you everyone.

And the point that some folks are missing is that Reid’s also showing immense trust that the 25-year-old Kolb can hit the ground running as the franchise quarterback. (Try not to think about the fact the Eagles will enter 2010 with major questions at center and right guard, Kevin.)
Stupid Effin' Ay Matt Moseley
"I'm a guy who can block. I can go into a hole and hit people and I can go into a hole and run the football. I'm going to come in and do what they ask me to do. I'm looking to come in and lead block and open up some holes for (Brian) Westbrook. If they decide to give me the ball, that's a blessing. If not, you won't hear a word come out of my mouth."

Rodney Carney's moved on to bigger and better things since he's been traded. I just saw him on the nba.com homepage!!!
i think these two took the small bus to the game...
GM Predictions
Alittle surprising how little love the Sixers get in everything other than "Moves"...
Watch Preseason Games
I'm not sure if someone knows how to do this but apparently we can watch these games on that website
Three Players Cut from Training Camp Roster
Andre Emmett, Maureece Rice and Cory Underwood were cut...
If I'm not mistaken, this is the only thing that Elton Brand knew about Reggie Evans

The Perfect Meal
Chad Jackson
He's 6'1, 215, 36th overall pick in '06, ran a 4.34 40-yard-dash, almost like a bigger (Reggie - 196 lb), faster (4.55) Reggie Brown. Former Patriot, got cut, any thoughts?....
I think we all know what happened immediately after this
A Throwback
well, i was browsing through every single one of the new comments there were on this site (you know you do it too), and i realized that there's much more to this site than just these posts that are on the homepage and i decided (since i'm fairly new to it) to explore the story archives. i found out that this isn't JasonB's first site, that there used to be a site called "webleedgreen.blogspot.com". I realized how much i've missed by not finding BGN until earlier this year. i ran into T.O's failed (unfortunately) attempt at suicide. then i ran into this little number, a story that we all fell for.
this video is amazing, watch until at least the middle of the video kuz the beginning kind of sucks. the hook is pretty catchy...
On how his blocking has improved from last year: "He's worked on that, most of all his pass blocking, so that was something new for him, in particular the techniques that we asked him to do. I think he's done a lot better job in that area."
Coach Andy Reid on Tony Hunt
Am I the only one who is confused by this picture, Reggie Brown is listed at 6'1", Brodorick Bunkley is listed at 6'2", and Hank Baskett is listed at 6'4". So then why does Bunk look taller than Baskett and why does Brown look almost as tall as Hanky. This is probably an empty post so it's ok if you guys hate it, i just thought it was interesting to see our players compared to each other...
* Winston Justice took Chris Clemons to the ground in a one-on-one drill. A few snaps later, Clemons limped off after tweaking his calf in a bout with Stefan Rodgers.

The playbook has been cut down so players can focus on getting into a playing mentality as opposed to "worrying" about what the play is, Reid said.
Favre traded to NY Jets
The exact compensation was not immediately known, but it is believed to be a single draft pick that increases in value depending upon how the Jets perform during the 2008 season.
Please, Give Me Just One
Again I'm doing a post about the USA Today Player Rankings; this time, it's DE's. I know for sure some of you guys are going to disagree with me about this but I really think that Trent Cole should've gotten at least one vote in the today column.
They have two columns: Today, which represents which players are the best TODAY; and Super Bowl era, which represents which players are the best EVER. (sorry for the excessive use of the word "which")
via lh6.ggpht.com
Trent Cole had the 3rd most tackles among the top 16 DE's according to sack total last year (DeMarcus Ware, Mike Vrabel).
Notable players who were "ranked" higher than Cole in the "today" column were: Mario Williams (23 votes, 2nd), Aaron Kampman and Kyle Vanden Bosch (both had fewer sacks and tackles than Cole), Julius Peppers (2.5 sacks in 14 starts last year), Richard Seymour (1.5 sacks and 23 tackles in 9 games), and last and most certainly the very least - Aaron Smith ( please tell me if you know who the hell this guy is).
Also, this is kind of random but I also noticed that we didn't have any other players in the list of the top 41 DE's in sack total.
Weapon X is #5
Brian Dawkins is number 5 on the NFL safety rankings conducted by USA Today.
They have two columns: Today, which represents which players are the best TODAY; and Super Bowl era, which represents which players are the best EVER. (sorry for the excessive use of the word "which")
via i.a.cnn.net
Dawkins is number five on the Today column. I mean, it's nice to see Dawkins get some of that national recognition that he hasn't gotten in a while (it seems like). But also, you could make an argument for him to be on the Super Bowl era column. He didn't even get one vote from the "judges" to be in that column. B-Dawk is widely believed to be a first-ballot hall-of-famer so you would think that he should get more votes than Rodney Harrison and Darren Woodson and non-hall-of-famer Donnie Shell. (a lot of hypens in that sentence).
About him: A stalwart of the Eagles defense, Dawkins has won more games (96) than any player in franchise history. With 33 interceptions and 26 forced fumbles, Dawkins has produced the second-most "disruptive plays" in the NFL during his career. Only Sharper's 62 outrank him. A six-time Pro Bowler and a four-time first-team all pro, Dawkins is known for landing heavy hits. He is one of just four NFL players to record at least 33 interceptions and 18 sacks in their career (with Leroy Butler, Rodney Harrison and Barber).
Notable stats: Dawkins became the first player in NFL history to record a sack, an interception, a fumble recovery and a TD reception in one game vs. Houston on Sept. 29, 2002, when he caught a TD during a fake punt.
This has everything to do with Philly sports, not Eagles
Sorry guys, I'm actually a bigger Eagles fan than a Sixers fan, but I'm sure many of you guys are somewhat casual Sixers fans, and if not, at least Philly sports fans. This reminds me so much of T.O. coming to our Iggles- It seemed like somewhat of a surprise, and we got a huge player out of an off season.
Sorry again guys, this does not have much to do with the Eagles and I'm sort of expecting this post to get torn down, but the Sixers are back...
Inspiring Preview for 2008-(hopefully)2009
