Silver And Black Pride Oakland Must Resign Thomas And Kirk

Thomas Howard and Kirk Morrison have formed a bond together. The 2 LB's have been together for almost 5 years and have earned the name. "The Law Firm of Howard and Morrison" So I think its obvious that they shuold play their careers together in Oakland.

Thomas Howard has been one of our Top Defensive Players and has the potential to be even better. Oakland drafted Thomas in '06 and he's contributed greatly since. There is not question about it, Oakland needs to resign him to the extensive contract that he deserves.

At the young age of 26, Thomas had showed his dominance on the field consistently, racking up nearly 100 Tackles a year since entering the league. Despite his career low of 79 this year, He is a leader on the field and a true presence in run and pass game. In 2007, he intercepted 6 passes, returing 2 for touchdowns.

  Sp_raiders0239cs_medium

Kirk Morrison has lead the team in tackles since hios rookie year in '05. Kirk had his best year yet in '09 with 133 tackles, 2 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. He's only 28 Years old and grew up in Oakland. He's stated before that hes been a fan for his whole life and playing for Oakland has been a dream.

Although Kirk isn't the hard hitting LB you would want at the MLB posistion. He may get pushed back at times but I have realized that the LB can only be as good as his DL. And without a presence up front, Kirk will continue to have blockers in his face. It is my opinion that he will have a terrific year with a better DL, and may even make the Pro Bowl.

     93124532

Keeping these two guyus together would provide stability and would mean that Oakland doesnt have to waste a pick on a unproven rookie. Plus, There are numerous Linebackers that can play next to these guys tht are available in the later rounds. Im gonna be the 1st to say it. I want the Law Firm for another 5-6 Years! Go Raiders!

Silver And Black Pride The Mystique of McAfee

I don't know about you, But attending home games is the greatest experience. McAfee is mystical and being there with the lights on is miraculous and gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. How many of you have been to a home game at McAfee stadium? If you haven't, you must do whatever you possibly can to go to atleast one game in your life time.

Mcafee_580_medium

via assets.espn.go.com

I wish I could attend more games, my family isn't exactly wealthy but we try. My dad was even thinking of putting away money just for some season tickets. Funny thing is, He hardly even follows football. Hes a Raider fan, but only when the game is on ya know?  I think the family enjoys it at the games, But who couldnt have fun when everyone is screaming in ejoyment around you.

When your there, you feel accepted, like everyone there is just part of your family and its all one big reunion. Thats probably my favorite part of it all. Being able to celebrate with a complete stranger, hugging a large man that you would normally be terrified of, and for me atleast, being able to scream swear words at a Charger fan because he's being a royal dick. Its like, My dad lets it slide because he knows I cant control myself in Oakland. Maybe if we were at an away game he would restrain me, but since it was at home I was fully protected by over 50,000 Raider fans.

Raidersfans_medium

via 8donkeys.files.wordpress.com

Everyone has that moment at a Raider game, the one you will never forget no matter how many games you attend. Mine, so far, was actually this year. Monday night football. It was right after Louis Murphy got that huge pass giving us the lead. Of course, My dad had to take the celebration over the line(as always) and he thew his bag of popcorn all over the Charger fans in front of us. The drunken fan stood up and took charge at my dad with good reason. He was restrained by his friend yet didnt give up his quest. He continued to yell at my family. So I decided to take the high road and shout " Sit down!" He looks up at me and yells "Fuck You!" This is when I thought the most logical thing was to scream the same back at him. That is also when I earned my man card. I had a woman holding me back as I went towards this middle aged man. My father couldn't have been more proud.

So, I ask you Raider Nation. When was your 1st time at a Raider game? And if you do have one of those special moments. What is it?

Silver And Black Pride Defense Wins Games

There is alot of talk about Oakland taking a OT in this years draft. Bruce Cambell is one of those names thrown around quite often, as well with Anthony Davis and Brian Bulaga. Now, Oakland  has a fair shot at just about any of these players. But, is taking an OT more important than our Defensive weaknesses? In my opinion, No. It may be because Im a linebacker myself and Ive been taught Defense wins games and no matter what the offense has, if you can stop it, You can win.

Now, with that said. This years draft is rather infested with defensive stars. Suh, McCoy, McClain, Haden and Berry are just naming a few, And all those guys will most likely be taken in the Top 10. It's highly doubtful that Oakland will have a chance at either Suh or McCoy. So solving or DL problem will have to wait. But, Rolando McClain has a chance of falling to #8. With Kirk Morrison being a FA and his weak play at MLB. Picking Rolando would be a huge improvement at the Captain position.

With Rolando taken in Rd.1. That leaves three more positions needed OLB, DT, CB. This years draft is deep with DT talent and that can wait till the 3rd. Seeing we also have two picks in that round. I think Kyle Wilson would be a good choice here. Hes a good corner who had a terrific Senior Bowl. He would be a nice fit next to our boy Nnamdi. It is doubtful that he might not be there in the 2nd Rd. So another choice is Lamarr Houston, a DT whos pass rush and explosion could give a nice boost next to Tommy Kelly and Dick Seymour.

Here we are in the 3rd. Round. We have a scary ass MLB in Rolando McClain and a future star in Kyle Wilson. That leaves us with a scary gap at the DT position. Luckily, There is a guy named Arthur Jones who talent level is crazy, but was riddled with injuries in 09' leaving alot of teams wondering. Hes a DT who has the same frame as Suh or even our own Dick (Richard Seymour) That being said, He could easily play DE and DT. Giving us alot of flexibility.

We happen to have 2 two picks in the 3rd. Round and this is where we should grab an Offensive Lineman. Mike Johnson, A OG who can play OT as well. He is also from Alambam which could give Rolando a friend on the team and make it easier in Training Camp. Mike is real slow but has terrific technique and size. At 6'5 315 lbs. He would be a nice pick up in the 3rd.

AI've always been firm believer of this method. Stocking up on Defensive players and letting them win the games. The Ravens and Jets have shown that you dont need a star at QB to make it to the playoffs. I know the Jets have a GREAT O-Line, but they also went to the AFC Chamionship game with a Rookie QB who played rather mediocre. I sure hope Al stays away from the speedsters and athletes this year. Id hate to see Rd.1-Bruce Cambell and Rd.2 Taylor Mays. I didnt recognize the OLB posistion mostly because Trevor Scott is a maniac and Slade Norris is making improvements so I've heard. So let this be the year of ugly football! Pounding the rock with a Powerful back and stopping everything the offense throws at you!

Silver And Black Pride Bruce Gradkowski

Bruce Gradkowski, What else needs to be said? The name itself screams leadership, excellence and most importantly, a new start. He's a 27 Year old, 6'0, 220 NFL QB playing for the Oakland Raiders. He's played for numerous teams and besides 2006, he never started more than 2 games. Until 2009, When he started over failure QB, JaMarcus Russell in Week 10. He led the Oakland Raiders to their biggest wins of the season. including a win over Super Bowl champs, the Pittsburgh Steelers. After that, he was injured rather severly in Week 14. He missed the rest of the season and the Oakland Raiders lost 2 out of the next 3 games.

Now, With the terrific story told. Lets have some fun praising our hopeful QB of the future. Some of you may call this over confidence, arrogant or even premature. But, Im bored and this idea sparked in my head. Some of you are doubting our Savior dressed in Silver & Black, Bruce Gradkowski. And I'm not OK with that. This guy single handely lifted the spirit of Raider Nation and gave us fans hope. So here are a few names I will be chanting as Bruce runs over teams during the season:

Bruce Almighty

The Bald Jesus

The Savior

Try and think of some names that you would call our QB, Bruce Gradkowski!

Silver And Black Pride McFadden for Cromartie?

Report

Word is that San Diego is willing to trade Antonio Cromartie for a RB or a Draft Pick, where they will be able to pick a RB. So I thought, What If Oakland Trades Darren McFadden to San Diego for Antonio Cromartie? It ,would sure up our CB issues and give Oakland one hell of a DB Backfield. And Darren McFadden is injury plagued and can't seem to shine in Oaklands Offense Scheme. A win win

Now, Before we get into anything, lets talk about if this trade is possibe or not. Darren McFadden has a huuuge upside but has had many injuries in his short career. But San Diego wouldn't want just McFadden, They would probaby want a Draft Pick. as well. Oakland does have an extra 3rd Rd. pick that may interest San Diego. So in My opinion, If Oakland is willing to give up Darren McFadden and the 3rd Rd. Pick for Antonio Cromartie, San Diego might accept.

Antonio Cromartie had a huge season in 2007 with 10 Interceptions. But fell off in 2008, but reports have highlighted that he may have played that year with a broken hip. Antonio said he had his best year in 2009 although he had only 3 Interceptions.  Now, In Oakland, He would play next to Nhamdi, which means he would get alot of attention which could stem to numerous Ints.

Darren McFadden has been a major let down so far. He hasn't played a full season in his career and when he does play he is very inconsistent. San Diego is a great team(even though they choke every year :D) They have a great QB and the right Offense that Darren could shine in. San Diego might just save his career. Ladanian Tomlinson is done and Darren Sproles is a set to be a FA and San Diego is in dire need of a RB. So far, Dallas and Green Bay are notable teams that are interested, But Oakland has more to offer in my opinion.

Silver And Black Pride Week 13: Problems and Solutions

In Week 13, the Oakland Raiders will face the Pittsburgh Steelers. The two teams have been rivals ever since the Immaculate Reception game in December of 1972. One of the most famous plays in NFL history. There are a few things to worry about coming into sunday. I wish I could say that this will be a close game, but on paper, it is highly doubtful. Here are a few things that makes me nervous about playing the infamous Steeler's.

1) Ben Roethlisberger is scheduled to start sunday. He is the face of their organization and the star in Pittsburgh next to Sidney Crosby. I personally don't like Ben, he just has that kinda face to where you know you'll never like him. After he sat out last weeks game due to "headaches", I realized he was just afraid of big Ray Lewis. But, when he's on, he's on. He can completley pick apart an opposing Defense. With a imposing D, he has plenty of room for mistakes.

Solution: BLITZ! BLITZ! BLITZ! It is so odd that in both of our major wins,( Cincy and Philly) we blitzed and got in the QB's face. But, we seem to forget about those games, and go back to our boring Defensive scheme.

2) James Harrison is a monster at OLB. He is an absolute force at the position. He will make any O-Line wimper and in fear. After last weeks effort to stop Demarcus Ware, I am terrified on how this week will turn out. If we can't stop him from getting behind the line and stirring up trouble, that may be the game.

Solution: Shotgun formations, and Play Action calls. Short quick passes to Zach Miller and Swing Passes to DMC will keep the pressure off Bruce.

3) Tom Cables play calling. Lets face it, Tom isn't a Head Coach. Calling plays is not his speciality. He tends to have a little too much faith in his passing attack which is down right horrible. Nobody enjoys watching 3 and outs time after time because Bruce couldn't do his best Tom Brady impersonation.

Solution: Slpit carries between Michael Bush and Justin Fargas, a smash mouth running attack along with a accurate passing attack can put those Steelers where the belong, 6-6.

These are just my thoughts. Im not an NFL coach or anything, But I consider my self mildly smart and it doesnt take a genius to realize where the Raiders have tripped up this year, for example. Starting JaMarcus Russell at QB. Hiring Tom Cable as a Head Coach. Blah Blah Blah...Thats the past, this is the future. Like I said, im not expecting it too be close, but I always have hope. GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Silver And Black Pride After Game Thoughts

The Raiders played their hearts out today. They played a tough, yet beatable team today in the Dallas Cowboys. I knew not to get my hopes up, but after last week I couldnt help but to think we were gonna win. This wasnt a total loss though. There were many good signs. Here are some things I noticed during the game day. Some made me laugh and others gave me hope.

Thought on the Raiders

1) Bruce Gradkowski doesnt give up. He tried his harest on every play, and he didnt make any costly decisions. He does not do well under pressure though, when he is rushed, he doesn't provide the best passes. With good protection he only has room to grow. He had a mediocre performance today. But, I think he threw to Chaz too much.

2) We cant really blame JaMarcus's poor play on the recievers poor play anymore. I always said from the beginning that the WR is only as good as his QB. And today Bruce found Louis Murphy and Darrius Heyward-Bey numerous times. Proving Jamarucs Russel is truley incompetent.

3) Zach Miller is a Pro Bowl caliber TE. I already knew this, but todays perfomance really highlited it for me. He is a great and sadly underated TE. He made play after play for Oakland today, if he was thrown to 5-6 more times a game, hed have 5-6 more catches a game. He has hands like glue.

Thoughts on the Cowboys

1) Tony Romo is a pretty good QB. I always thought he was just a mediocre QB hiding behand a stellar line. But today he pretty much embarassed Oakland. I still love the fact his last name ryhmes with homo though.

2) Miles Austin is the future of Dallas. This kid is a flat out beast. He runs pin point routes and has great hands. I expect to see him in many Pro Bowls

3) Jay Ratliff is a total fag. I could not help to notice after every tackle, even if he wasnt invlolved. He took full credit for it by doing some douchey fack kickoff thing. I dont know if thats something important in Dallas but it annoyed the hell out of me. The dude does have imense talent though.

4) Phill Sims is in love with Demarcus Ware. Yes, I know, he is probably the best OLB in the game, but every time Oakland did something wrong, Phill gave Demarcus credit for it. Like if we had an incomplete pass, Phill would be like " Oh, Well Bruce is probably just afraid that Demarcus was behind him, making him miss Murphy" It got rather annoying hearing that after every play while Demarcus is away from the play next to Ratliff as hes doing some Kicking thing and acting like he got the tackle.

Those are just my thoughts though. It was a good game untill the second quarter rolled around. I still see this as a good sign because Bruce showed some good things. I cant wait untill Week 16 when we play the Browns. But, Pittsburg is next week. Oakland better be ready to play cause that will be a hard nose game. Some may not know but Oakland and Pittsburg are Rivals. Cant wait.

Arrowhead Pride Impressive Win Gentelman

Kansas City played awesome today, even though some of your bloggers seem to disagree(royalsfan99). You beat the fucking Steelers!! Enjoy It. I was honestly Royally pissed when I saw KC was victorious because we were loosing at the time but since we both won, were still battling for 3rd baby. The war continues!!! lol. You Know, Id say we both have a decent chance at 2nd with the way Denvers playing. KC does have an easier schedule remaining but, anything can happen as both Oak and KC showed today.

I think both of our teams are finally finding stability. Which is good. So lets rally together and support one another and give San Diego and Denver a run for their money!!! We'll win the rest of our games and you do the same. Hell, maybe there be some 9-7 vs 9-7 wild card game. Good Luck Gents.

P.S.       Dear royalsfan99,

Relax brother. Its hard out there for fan, ecspecially for a fan of a loosing team. Accept the win go score some trim dude. Use the line I always use after Oakland upsets a team. " Hey Ladies, My football team just beat a team they were predicted to lose to,  gimme your digits so we can talk about this over dinner" If you say that and follow up with an awkward hand gesture and wink, you have ladies all over you. haha.

Cincy Jungle Keep Your Heads Up Cincy

I know, today was a dissapointing loss. Im a Raider fan and I even feel your pain. All of us have gone through years of pain and sorrow. And im sure after winning alot this year, it must not feel good to lose to a sub par team. But, if it makes you feel any better. Oakland is alot better than people think. We have a remarkable defense. But that didnt stop Scott.lol. With JaMarcus out, expect us to be where you guys are next year.

I read your game recap, and there is way to much negativity. Your 7-3. First in the AFC North and gonna make the Playoffs. Cincy has two very easy wins coming up. So keep your heads up Cincy. Your team played well today, but Marvin underestimated our sly Raider team. Good luck with the Browns(Not that you need it). We are playing Dallas on Turkey day so tune in to see us upset another team. Although, I have a feeling that Dallas wont be a problem compared to Cincy. Peace and Happy Holidays.

P.S. Please Rape in Week 15 & 16. Ecspecially 15. Oakland hates them. Pass on that info to Rey Maulaluga. I wanna see him de-cleat some fools. Thanks.

Silver And Black Pride Second Season Predictions

One game into the second season, the Oakland Raiders are 0-1. With a very ugly loss to the poor playing Kansas City Chiefs. The game showed that Michael Bush deserves a majority of the carries, Penalties are still plaguing the Raiders and JaMarcus Russell may have taken his last snaps as a starter. With the remaining schedule, it is very likely that we may end up a 13 loss team. But, the outcome of the second season all depends on if Bruce Gradkowski becomes starter and how well he performs in my opinion. Here are my predictions based on the QB situation.

  Second Season with JaMarcus Russell

General

Record: 1-7

Division: Last

Tom Cable: Fired

Offensive

Game Averages

PTS: 12

YDS: 210

PASS YDS: 170

RUSH YDS: 150

Second Season with Bruce Gradkowski

General

Record: 4-4

Division: 3rd

Tom Cable: Employed

Offensive

Game Averages

PTS: 25

YDS: 260

PASS YDS: 195

RUSH YDS: 186

I sure hope that Bruce Gradkowski is starting. Its the difference between a 3-13 or 6-10 record. Neither is acceptable, but 6-10 is lot more respectable. Its not a playoff berth or anything, but its a step in the right direction. I may be reaching at predicting 4-3 to finish, but all 4 of those wins come in the last 4 games of the season. Let me know what you think.

Silver And Black Pride What's After Al Davis?

There are many in the Raider Nation calling on Al Davis to sell the team, or at least step aside. There even appeared to be a movement to dethrone the Emperor of the Raiders. There are some who feel that anyone would be preferable to Al, but there is also the saying about the devil you know being better than the devil you don't know.

Al Davis is 80 years old, and it appears that his health is not what it once was. He missed his first game since 1979 when he did not make the trip to Tampa Bay last year for the final game of the season due to a knee injury. He moves with the aid of a walker. Those around him say that he is still sharp as ever, even though he seems less coherent in each of his public appearances. The time is nearing when Davis will no longer be in control of the Raiders, whether by his choice or by his no longer being of this Earth.

From his arrival in 1963, he has become not only the face of the Raiders, but also their heart and soul. He changed the color scheme from the black, white, and gold to the now ubiquitous Silver and Black because he wanted them to have a tougher image. It is his renegade spirit and desire for domination that became the essence of the Raider mystique. There is no other sporting franchise that is so intertwined with its owner. Al Davis and the Raiders are synonymous, and he would have it no other way.

Davis is the last of a dying breed. Unlike any other currently in the NFL, he worked his way up from being an assistant coach, to head coach, to league commissioner to part owner of the team. Granted, he wrestled full ownership away from the other general partners through trickery, but that does not change that he is a football man first. No other owner in the NFL has the football pedigree that Davis built for himself.

Once Al steps aside from the Raiders, there will no longer be a voice in the league that roamed the sidelines. There will no longer be a voice that spent a lifetime dedicated to football. True, Davis has made many mistakes along the way.  And even more enemies with his "us against the world" mentality. But, it was that very "us against the world" mentality that was once instilled upon his team that dominated the league.

The word from Alameda is that once Davis either passes away or steps aside the team will go to his son Mark. Until recently, Mark Davis has been out of sight. He was not seen at his dad's side learning the trade of running a football team. There is also the question of whether Mark would be able to keep the team. When Jack Kent Cooke passed away, his children had to sell the team because they could not pay the inheritance tax associated with the value of the Washington Redskins. Even if Mark does keep the team, does he have the same passion for football that Al has? Does Mark have the desire to keep the traditions of the Raiders alive, the very thing that makes the Raiders unlike the other 31 teams? Does he even want to run the team, or does he want to sell it off?

If the Raiders get just another billionaire running the team, will they respect what the Raiders are truly about? It is unlikely that any future owner could have the same passion for the team as Davis. The Raiders could easily be bought by an ownership group that favors the old Bidwell model, which is to make the money through revenue sharing and spend as little as possible because even a losing team is profitable in the NFL. The new ownership group could also want to change the colors and uniforms to attempt to spur sales of new Raiders gear, without respecting the traditions that go along with the Silver and Black.

Davis was a pioneer in the NFL, and it is obvious to all that he needs to bring in help to run the team. His decisions are not what they used to be. If he can bring in some young minds to help him, he can get them ready to take over for him when the inevitable happens. However, when it happens, that doesn't automatically mean things will change for the better for the Raiders as some believe. Davis has made the Raiders his life's work, and he has to be more disappointed than anyone else over the team's current state. God Bless Al Davis and let him go down as the greatest Raider to ever live. And everyone who is hoping for him to die, you all need to shut the hell up. When he does pass it will be a sad sad day in Raider Nation.

Silver And Black Pride Marijuana in the Athletic World

With the Raiders not playing till next sunday, I have decided to bring up a touchy subject. A subject that is casually forgotten in the sports world. Something that needs to be brought up and talked about more than it is.

When you think of athletes using drugs, you'll usually think of HGH or steroids. But, marijuana is a common drug being abused by athletes all over the U.S. Alot of these athletes are considered the best or were the best in their respected sport.

In the past week, I saw that MLB phenom Tim Lincecum, was caught with a marijuana pipe and 3.3 grams of marijuana. He is considered the best pitcher in the majors and he obviously has smoked weed in the past and has been since in the league.  He is still the best in the league and is being considered for the 2009 Cy Young award.

The NFL is littered with so called "Pot Heads". A few are incredible athletes. There are players who have admitted to smoking in their NFL careers or players who have been caught by either the league or the law. Here are the top 4.

  1) Ricky Williams. Ricky was a monster coming out of college. He was rewarded the Heisman trophy in 1998. He was drafted in 1999. He tested postive in 2004 and 2007. In his case, Marijuana ruined his promising career. He is now decent  HB for Miami Dolphins.

  2) Randy Moss. Randy Moss is one of the NFL’s greatest receivers of all time. Moss has been caught with marijuana and has also admitted to smoking marijuana on HBO’s Real Sports With Brian Gumbel. On the show he said “I have used, you know, marijuana … since I’ve been in the league….But as far as abusing it and, you know, letting it take control over me, I don’t do that, no….hopefully … I won’t get into any trouble by the NFL by saying that, you know. I have had fun throughout my years and, you know, predominantly in the offseason.” He is now well on his way to Canton, Ohio.

   3) Michael Vick,  Michael was caught with marijuana right after his dog fighting allegations. There has always been questions on if Michael Vick has been caught with marijuana or how many urine tests he has actually failed. Michael Vick is now known as a dog killer. And is hated by alot of America.

   4)  Santonio Holmes, Santonio is known as a good reciever for the Steelers and his amazing catch in the Super Bowl. But, in 2008 he was arrested by the police on marijuana charges. Santonio was a SuperBowl MVP and is stil playing in the NFL.

And of course, Michael Phelps. Michael Phelps is the greatest olympian of all time. He swept the swimming competitions in the 2008 Olympics. But, Micheal was unfortunatley taking a hit of a bong when someone snapped a photo of him. He was questioned for weeks. It was huge news. Michael is currentley the greatest swimmer and olympian ever.

These are just a few of the athletes who have or still do use marijuana. There are many more in the U.S. In fact, there are too many to name. These guys are just a few of the big names. Now, you may wonder why I wrote each athletes current state in their sports. I did so because I believe that marijuana is a non harmful drug that is given a bad name. I feel that it needs to be legalized. But thats just me. These are some of the better athletes of this generation. And Im sure a few of them are still users. I can't be sure, but im about as darn close to sure as there is.

So, I have a few questions for you Raider Nation. Do you care if athletes abuse or do you not care? Do you think that there are current users in any sport? If so. Who?  Thank You.

Bloody Elbow Brett Rogers vs. Fedor Emelianenko

I have been a fan of Brett Rogers for a while now. After the Arlovski fight I was convinced he is a top notch fighter. Before that I thought he was fighting no name guys and beating them up. But after the 22 second destruction of the former champ, I devloped a man crush on Brett Rogers. He now joins Matthew McConaughey and Brad Pitt on my man crush list. By the way, Im not gay. So please avoid leaving gay bashing comments. But back to the point, Brett is the MMA fighter I have been rooting for. I know everyone has that one guy they root for.

So, when I heard that Brett will be facing Fedor I got a little nervous for the undefeated record. Fedor is an absolute beast. He is a veteran who knows how to win and has been quite use to doing so. Brett is still growing as a fighter. He has one win by submission and it was by punches. I will admit that Fedor is a better and more evolved MMA fighter and is the predicted winner of this fight.

If brett can keep the fight standing I believe he has a reasonable chance to win the fight. He has natrual knockout power in both hands. Brett has 5 in. height, 30 Lb. weight. and 7 In. reach advantage.. Fedor is most likely the best heavyweight fighter to ever live. He has a terrific ground game and still manages to knock people out. He is smaller, but, he has beat men larger than Brett in the past. Fedor has beat some of the best fighters from all corners of the world. Both Fedor and Brett are coming off wins against Andrei Arlovski. This fight will be a huge test for Brett Rogers. If he wins he will shock the world. I doubt he will win but anything can happen. If Fedor wins, It just shows that he still has it after nearly 10 months without a fight. This fight will be exciting to watch and I am so glad its free to watch.

Silver And Black Pride Dwaine Board

With Tom Cable in the hot seat, there is a great chance that he will be fired. Al Davis fired Lane Kiffin during last years bye week so don't be suprised if he does the same this year. If Tom is fired then Al would most likely appoint an interim head coach. Just like last year. But, this year I hope he makes a decent choice. I hopes he appoints veteran Defensive Coach Dwaine Board.

Dwaine Board has coached in the league for 19 seasons now. He is a brilliant Defensive LIne coach with plenty of expeirence. He has sent 10 players to the Pro Bowl and coached 1 Defensive Player of the Year. Dwaine has proved his worth in the NFL, unlike Tom Cable.

Defensive Coaches have proved to be great Head Coaches in the Past. Bill Belichick was a Defensive Coach in the beggining. As was Bill Cowher and Tony Dungy. All three have at least 1 SuperBowl ring. All three are future Hall of Fame inductee's.

What do you think? Should Tom Cable even be fired? Will He be fired? And if he is then would Dwaine be a good or bad idea? Or is there someone you think deserves it more? Will this be a paragraph consisted of only questions? Leave your questions and comments.haha

Silver And Black Pride Week 7: The New York Jets

 Nyj_medium                                                                                                                                   Mj_raiders_team_logo_medium

Coming into Week 7, The Oakland Raiders play the New York Jets. The Raiders are coming off a huge win last week against the Eagles. Jamarcus Russell showed some talent and lead the Oakland to an offensive uproar. The defense was miraculous to say the least. Richard Seymour had another huge game and is clearly a leader despite being in his first year with the team. Trevor Scott proved his worth with his two sacks. Overall, the Oakland Raiders played a great game against a great team.

On the other, The Jets are coming off three straight losses including an embarrasing loss to the Buffalo Bills. Rookie Mark Sanchez threw an astonishing 5 interceptons. But the Jets running game was explosive. New Yorks superstar and defensive nose tackle Kris Jenkins suffered an season ending injury last week. That is a huge lost for New York. New York needs an impressive win to keep Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez off the hot seat.

But, I believe that the Oakland Raiders will win in week 7. We have them beat on Defense and as I always say Defense wins games. The only thing that worries me is the Jets Rushing attack and our Run D. Leon Washington and Thomas Jones are explosive. But if Oakland can get to Sanchez and put him on his back and get in his face. He will have another Interception infested game. Im not saying Oakland has to completely stop the run, Im just saying they need to make it non-noticable.

On the Offensive side of the ball, Oakland needs to protect Jamarcus at all costs. New York likes to blitz and we like to not pick up those blitz's for some reason. They have done a decent job with QB protection so but sadly, Oakland is notorious for giving up large sums of sacks. Michael Bush needs to step up. I would love to see a 140+ yard game form him on sunday, but Cable will most likely split carries with Justin Fargas and him. So he needs to make the most out the opportunities and destroy the Jenkinless Jets and pound the ball right up the middle. If Jamarcus manages the game and Tom Cable keeps on the ground 70% of the game, we will win in the offensive stats.

On sunday, I will be sleeping on the New York Jets while the Oakland Raiders suprise ESPN once again. This is a very important game. With a win Oakland will go into San Diego winning to straight. Thats a big deal. The Raiders have a very winnable schedule for the next 4 weeks.

      My Predictions:

Oak 24   NY 13

Offensive Stats:

Jamarcus Russell: 20-32 / 247 YD's / 2 TD's / 1 Int

Justin Fargas: 17 Rush's / 69 YD's/

Michael Bush: 24 Rush's / 118 YD's / 1 TD

Chaz Schillens: 4 Rec / 60 YD's

Louis Murphy: 8 Rec / 108 YD'S / 1 TD

Darrius Heyward-Bey: 2 Rec / 24 YD'S / 1 TD

Zach Miller: 6 Rec / 50 YD's

Defensive Stats:

Michael Huff: 5 Tckl's / 2 Int's

Greg Ellis: 3 Tckl's / 1 Sck

Richard Seymour: 6 Tckl's / 3 Sck's

Now of course those stats will most likely not be dead on. But they get the point across. All those players will effect the game in there own way. I am expecting stats similar to those though. Do you agree with me or think I'm crazy? Let me Know.

Silver And Black Pride WR Core

With Chaz Schillens back, who will be number two on the depth chart. I know it will be Chaz, Louis and HayBey. But in which order? Louis Murphy is working his ass off on the field. Its like he doesnt quite know he plays for the Raiders. But I think that Ol' Raider curse has been lifted. Johhnie Lee has proven to be a deep threat. And im still waiting for Heybey to explode. I think Jamarcus needs to take a little of the fastball when passing to him. At least untill he gets used to the burns on his hands and welts on his chest. Thats a joke.HAHA. J-Russ hasn't hit a man in the chest since Pop Warner. But I hope he starts to get the job done.

I believe it should go 1) Chaz Schillens. 2) Louis Murphy. 3) Heyward-Bey. 4) Lee Higgins or Todd Watkins. Depending on if Johhnie Lee is able to play or not. Do you, the people of Silver and Black Pride, agree or disagree? Let me know.

Silver And Black Pride How did Oakland really win?

As a proud Oakland Raider fan, I am very excited for the way they played yesterday. Jamarcus controlled the Offense and was a game manager. Thats all I can ask from him. Justin Fargas had a decent game. And Zach Miller had the game of his career. Our defense was spectacular to say the least. Richard Seymour was an absolute beast and Trevor Scott stepped up as well. The game overall, was well played.

But, Im worried they only won the game because the Eagles were having a bad day. David Akers missed two Field Goals he could have easily made on any other day. Donovan was not himself. He wasn't playing like he would have against the Cowboys or Giants.

I want to know how you think the Raiders won sunday. Was it luck, an Eagles bad day or pure talent. I believe it was a terrific Defense, mediocre Offense and bad playing on the Eagles part. Tell me what you think. I really want to calm my feelings and just make sure Im over thinking a healthy win. Its just that after thet Giants game, I gave up hope. Please Re-assure me that we deserved that win. Thank You.
