A personal jersey vendetta

While I'm excited about the new jersey release on Thursday, I'm making myself a promise that I'm not going to buy another FCDallas jersey until they start to offer a long sleeve version. I'm sick...

Brek Shea in The Independent!

Jamie Sanderson, who founded the excellent Arsenal blog Young Guns, has a feature on Brek Shea in The Independent, a London-based newspaper. Great to see FC Dallas and Brek getting some international exposure. Definitely worth a read!

Miami Coach Hopes the Shock Wears Off

Nice NYTimes piece on how Golden is dealing with the change in situation at Miami. He is the one guy I feel sorry for in all of this, since it genuinely seems like he had no idea what was coming.

Bob Bradley has been fired by US Soccer.

Further announcement from US Soccer coming on Friday, presumably naming a new manager but there will be no immediate press availability until next week. Let the wild speculation begin.

Whitecaps' Hassli scores the MLS goal of the season (so far)

This is just a ridiculous goal, created by a defensive error to be sure, but it kept Seattle from getting all the points and will make it easier for FCD to expand the gap between the two teams in the Western Conference table.

Savage given permission to seek transfer to UF, Miami

Per Joe Schad, Rutgers is going to allow QB Tom Savage to look into the possibility of transferring to Florida or Miami. Savage was the #8 Rivals QB in the class of 2009 and with a redshirt year remaining, Savage will have two years of eligibility wherever he lands. FSU made him an offer out of high school but apparently isn't interested this time around.

Urban and Randy together on ESPNU!

Sweet schadenfreude for FSU fans. Urban Meyer and Randy Shannon working together for ESPNU to analyze FSU's #1 recruiting class on Wednesday! Should be entertaining TV.

Rutgers won't let Savage talk to certain schools

Scroll down to see this news item about former Rutgers QB Tom Savage who is attempting to transfer but who is being restricted from talking to some schools by Greg Schiano. Would FSU be interested in this kid as additional competition at the QB position? Hard to picture in my mind.

The Pastor of Pass Rush

Interesting piece on DE recruit Ray Drew and his other career as a preacher. Worth a read.

Orlando Sentinel says TE Reliford is ineligible

The Orlando Sentinel's Andrew Carter is reporting that FSU starting TE Beau Reliford is ineligible for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. If this is the case it is likely that Reliford, a junior, will be replaced in the starting lineup by Ja'Baris Little. Reliford is FSU's 5th leading receiver and has one touchdown catch this season. Reliford is FSU's only academic casualty for this game and has not traveled with the team to Atlanta. UPDATE: Andrew has fuller information here. Sounds like Fisher was surprised to find out that Reliford had a problem.

Al Golden to Miami, according to Bruce Feldman

Elaboration on the Twitter post can be found right here. Golden is a quality coach who did the impossible in building up Temple from a school where players would routinely skip practice into the best team in the MAC second best team in the MAC (sorry NIU) Of the coaches Miami could afford, this is clearly the best. Credit the Canes for avoiding the disaster that would have been Marc Trestman. Golden's teams play solid, physical, fundamental football. And Golden will be able to recruit (if Miami's admin lets him) as he is used to inner-city kids in Philly. He has an excellent rep as a recruiter. But will Miami give him the resources he needs? For the money, this is a good hire. But the hire also shows that the Canes don't have the cash to be a top program. In Coral Gables, the coach is only half the battle.

Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp to be named UF's new coach

According to the Florida Times-Union's Michael DiRocco. Thoughts?

5 star Cyrus Kouandjio is narrowing his list

And guess which suspiciously terrible program is included on his top 5? New Mexico. Sound familiar to anyone? (hint...Calvin Smith)

FSU gets an 8 seed in Lunardi's 1st projected bracket

Obviously its way too early to start thinking about March, but its encouraging to see FSU given some respect before they play their first game this season.
