Hello, So i got my picks below and stats from last week. Please comment on my picks, the more discussion the more learned and revealed. I don't care if you disagree or agree I just wanna hear what you think, even if its just 'yea, I like indy to cover too' or 'I think cinncy will win'

Last week my picks lost a little money. I laid my money in some of the wrong spots and won't make the same mistake. I actually was a little disappointed in my picks and put a lot more on the broncos monday night then posted and came up with a positive 5 units for the week end. yay! but it wasn't good idea...

A surprisingly low line, but like the chargers matchup here against a better bad team.

Almost 100 % of the bets have been placed on Green Bay. However I'm going to have to fall into this trap.

I was surprised by the line was this high. I like the 4 points minn has to play with to be enough, even though I could see them losing.

this is a tough game to pick. An inconsistent raiders team, and downward trending Jets team. It would obviously be easier for the raiders to cover in a low scoring slug fest, but I'm pretty sure we'll see some points -high teens, low twenties. Believe in the pidgin!

Tough to envision, on one hand Washington has played Philly very competitively and can get pressure on the QB. However philly will want to come out and win and rebound. I just don't think Washigton has enough in them, six offensive points is not gonna be enough to cover the eagles.

I think this has the makings of a trap game and don't want to get caught in it. I'm going to stay away but would take the bengals if need be.

I like pitt here. Tomlin will prepare them well and they'll easily squash clevland by 14

I like over 43.5 here; think they both can score over 20

Both of these teams seem to be collapsing, but the Jets are defiantly better. 9 and half better? -you'd better bet.

Maybe this week tennesse comes back? NO. NE is mad/ has something to prove. Tenn is used up

tough to pick, probably Chicago with the points

I'd say under too, but denver may score too much :) We show em who's boss of the AFC (west)

THOUGHTS

Who do we draft?

Well if last year was any indication it could be anything. BPA type of thing. And judging from what we have it seems to have worked out pretty well.

positions to increase depth: basically the whole team except TE and possibly QB.

ideal positions to draft to become starters someday: OC, OG, NT, DE, SAF

but what position do you think we would most likley go for in the first round? I'd have to say Dline unless we have to draft an heir to a free agent loss. Which reminds we have a few guys with expiring contracts heading into next season.

Notably: Orton, Hamilton, Kuper, Dumervil, Marshall, Scheffler

That seems like a lot of money, if we have it to spend on contracts. I remember last year I think we had 30+ million free but we spent a lot of that so I dont know. Any one know? If we have to lose any of them i hope its Hamilton, I don't want to lose Kuper hed probably be one of the last I let go considering hes not going to be 10+ million a year.

but it seems to me we don't have many superstar contracts right now, except Baily. So I'm hopin we have enough dough. And Baily's contract is near its end, so a new back loaded contract may fit like a puzzle piece.

Too much to think about in the middle of the season. GO BRONCOS!! 16-3!

Ok so here are some picks. This week I feel I took a better approach researching the games and hope for improved results. After my picks I have some 'assessments' on things.

PICKS

I think the Atlanta Falcons will get it done in San Fransisco. They've just got a bye week and playing against a Gore-less 49ers team. Researching both of them my final conclusion agrees with my original pick.

I like the Vikings to cover 10 points at the rams. I think the spread should be much larger here and like the pick here and defintly to win straight up.

I also think the radiers can cover 16 points, even if they are pity points.

Dallas over Kansas City

Buffalo Bills over Cleveland Browns

I like Houston Texans to beat Arizona Cardinals although its very hard to call. But the more I look the more I like it.

Bengals to cover +8.5 @ the ravens

Denver +3.5 to win over the visiting Patriots

Colts to win -4 @ Titans

Jets to cover -2 @ Miami

I re-watched the game heres what I got

Our defense is for real, but I'm scared if we go against a really efficient offense more points will be score on us. However no one has this offense.

Our offense needs to quit committing stupid penalties. We weren't able to see our real offense until the second half and it looked good, we just need to execute some things better. Orton needs to be more accurate, if theres any one thing I could have Orton be improved upon -is game day accuracy.

I think our offense could be a lot better than what we've shown so far and will begin to click soon ~1-3 weeks

Week 4 Picks & Predictions against the spread, straight up & over under

Ok. so I got my scouting done a day early and decided to make a post out of it. Next week I'll take a look at it and see how well I did for the games and for against my Confidence Rating, which is a 1-4 scale [higher better] for how much I like a matchup, with 5 being sure locks.

Oaklands Raiders +9.5 @ Houston Texans :

Here I'm going to take the raiders with the points but have the Texans to win straight up. I'm expecting a few long runs, pass completion to help bring the score up and get over 42. Overall I don't like the odds for this game that much and wouldn't bet too much on it. Confidence Rating: 2, 2, 1

New York Giants -9 @ Kansas City Chiefs:

The giants are a much better football team all around. Much more efficient and much less prone to turnovers. Looking at the 3rd down conversion percentage the delta between these 2 teams is 31!(favoring Giants). My picksGiants win -9 and of course the moneyline and for over under I expect good defensive play from the giants and an early lead to eat this game away and keep it under 42. Confidence Rating: 3, 5, 2.5

Tennessee Titans -3 @ Jacksonville Jaguars:

I'd say these two teams are somewhat similar but the titans are much better. Expect a hard hitting physical contest, low scoring. Possibly we could have another upset here, I could see a game changing turnover baffling the titans but I'm not goig to bet on that to happen. I expect Tennessee to finally get a win here, cause now they really need and I expect their play to show it. Titans -3 and moneyline. And for the total to go under 41.5, I expect a final game score close to 22-13. Confidence Rating: 4, 4, 3

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +7 @ Washington Redskins:

Plus seven looks to be a good spread for this game. But I think Washington gets a break here. Tampa has shown holes in their run support and have trouble generating a pass rush. The redskins will look to establish and maintain healthy run game for Portis. I think this one will depend upon who can get going early and not make costly turnovers. Picks are Tampa +7 but Redskins to win moneyline and the game to go over 37. Confidence Rating: 3, 2.5, .2

Baltimore Ravens +2 @ New England Patriots:

This should be a good game. The Ravens should do an good job providing crisp coverage and ample pressure on Brady. Good things happen when you get pressure on Brady and I expect to see the Ravens to snatch an interception at some point. I like the Ravens here with the points and moneyline. As for the over under expect the winning team to have to put up 25+ points, but both teams are very competitive so i don't anticipate a wide margin of defeat so over 44.5. Confidence Rating: 3, 3, 3

Cincinnati Bengals -6 @ Cleveland Browns:

I think the Bengals are really a lot better than those odds I'd put more like at 9 or so. They'll easyly cover a touchdown. Picks Bengals -6 and moneyline. The final score I expect to see the Browns around 0-10 and Bengals 20-30 so I'll go ahead and take the under here as I don't think this one is ever close. Confidence Rating: 5, 5, 4

Detriot Lions +10 @ Chicago Bears:

Plus Ten is a pretty wide margin and I know from experience Cutler doesn't like to win or make anything easy. All the Bears wins and loses have come at the end of games. I think Cutler will get cocky and throw a pair of picks. So take Detriot +10 but Chicago moneyline. and over 39. Confidence Rating: 2, 4, 2

Buffalo Bills -2.5 @ Miami Dolphins:

This game plays right into the strengths of the Bills. Miami doesn't have a real pass attack and will hav e to get by with mostly wildcat running. This game will have a fast clock because of all the running so my picks are Bills -2.5 and moneyline and under 37. Confidence Rating: 3.5, 3.5, 3.5

N.Y. Jets +7 @ New Orleans Saints:

This should be another good game this weekend. I like the match up better for the Jets here. I think Sanchez is poised for another big day and is schooled on holding onto the ball. I'm going to take the Jets here + 7 and to win moneyline. And for the game to go over 45. Confidence Rating: 2.5, 1.5, 3

St. Louis Rams +10 @ San Fransisco 49ers:

This is a tough game to pick. I don't think they'll be a lot of points in this one and a short clock. Im going to have to give the Rams my pick +10 but San Fran the win. And I'll take under 37.5. Confidence Rating: 2.5, 4, 2

Dallas Cowboys -3 @ Denver Broncos:

Alright I'm biased here. But I like the Broncos matching up against Cowboys Run offense, If they can shut or slow it down they should be able to win if they can put enough points up. I can't wait for this game I think it will be very good and revealing. The game is pretty much nationally televised(except Ncali and Missouri) So I gotta take Broncos +3and for the win. The total should be close but I think it will slide over 42.5. Confidence Rating: 2.5, 2, 2.5

San Diego Charger +7 @ Pittsburg Steelers:

I expect a fairly low scoring game teens to twenties. I think +7 for the chargers is to big to pass on so take them but I have Pittsburgh to win by a field goal late. And I'll take under 43. Confidence Rating: 3, 2, 2.5

Green Bay Packers +3.5 @ Minnesota Vikings:

This is a tough one. I've gone back and forth. I don't think either team will sweep the other but I'm gonna predict each team wins in each others house. So I'm going to take the underdog here, thinking they'll be a key turnover or key missed 3rd down on the Vikings part. So Packers +3.5 and moneyline. And I'll take over 45. Confidence Rating: 2, 2, 2.5

The intracacies of Cash Considerations

OK so I'm more of a NFL fan (go broncos!) but I have always loved salary cap stuff. Just recently I have been studying the NBA's 'soft' cap and its rules -which I find very interesting. But one thing I can't find any information on by googling is trading cash.

Example: Team A trades a draft pick to Team B in return for 3 mil$

So my questions are:

1. Does Team A get 3 mil added to their cap?

2. Does Team B get 3 mil subtracted from their cap?

3. Or is it like the GM for Team B just gives the GM for Team A 3 mil with no cap affect?

can someone please explain!!?

Heres what I found in the CBA....but it doesn't answer my Qs

Section 8. Trade Rules.
(a) A Team shall not be permitted to receive in connection with any trade, directly or indirectly, more than $3 million in cash or other compensation, including cash or other compensation received as reimbursement for Compensation obligations to players who the Team is acquiring. For purposes of this Section 8(a), if a Contract is signed and then traded pursuant to Section 8(e)(1) below, and the Contract contains a signing bonus, the payment of all or any portion of such bonus by the Team that signed the Contract shall be treated as a reimbursement of a Compensation obligation of the assignee Team and shall be subject to this Section 8(a).

Alright this is my final draft board including 7 rounds and a CFA section.

All the rounds are ranked & every player is put where we should start looking at them. So that could be a little early or a few rounds late.

Players that I escpecially like or 'have a feeling for' (like with eddie last year) I highlighted in blue. -Darker the better. BTW, Ziggy Hood is my Eddie Royal of 2009.

I still need a few words...... so yea, now I got them. anyways I'm curious to see how this all turns out and how inaccurate this board is.
