Rex says "This is about Bill Belichick vs. Rex Ryan,"
Perhaps Belichick should get a pedicure and slide a nice, "suck on my toes play" in to the ol' play book....
Marshall says Dolphins are playoff-bound
Turning point in the season? Marshall seems to think so....
Perhaps we should try this middle school play?
Love this play.... Who needs a good trick play? Here's one for ya.
NFL.com Miami / Ravens Preview.....
With Ravens weak seconday.... Marshall should be grabbin balls all day (and not his own)...... Get ready for the run, Ravens average 31 carries a game.
How about you be the Offensive Coordinator?
I’m a bit curious as to what the Phinsider Nation would do if they were Dan Henning…. Let’s do a Red Zone scenario (seeing as how that’s a big concern). Let’s put the ball on the infamous 20 yard line. Add a bit of drama; just for the fun of it (As we normally keep the game close anyways), just past the 2 minute warning with one time out left (for Miami)….. Go with 3rd and 10 (we seem to get in those situations enough). What would be your call going forward? Would you play it safe and try to pick up the first down or would you take a shot at the end zone (Hell we can always kick a field goal right?). Keep in mind; it’s just past the two minute warning……. Let’s go guys (or girls), be the Offensive Coordinator....... Oh and Miami is down by 4 and YES, WE ARE AT HOME!

Respect for the Pats from a Phin Fan.....
Good Morning Pats fans….. Thought I’d drop a note and commend your team for the 6-1 record. No, I am not a big Pats fan, but I do hate the Jets and I would much rather the Pats take the lead if my Dolphins can’t. Also on my mind…. Sheer genius as to how you guys can make things work in your franchise the way they do. I have to admit, at the beginning of the season, I really thought the Pats “D” wouldn’t hold up, but they have and I ended up snagging them as my fantasy Defense along with Branch as my number two WR. I also would like to commend the way the Patriot front office puts together awesome daft rankings / picks…. good grief, year after year they gather so many picks in the early rounds… How in the world do they do it? Touching on Moss, if he makes it through the waivers (I'd rather him make Miami his home), I say pick him up! That would be hilarious, getting a free draft pick and getting Moss back free of charge ( I have to admire his devout feelings for the Patriots, that takes a lot of guts). Don’t get me wrong, I love my Dolphins and I am a true fan, but you have to give credit where credit is due. In conclusion, JETS SUCK!

Have you noticed the new LA Stadium (plan)?
I was just a bit curious about this new LA Stadium guys….. Is there a team looking to make the move to LA? I was taking notice of the Stadium colors on their website…. Purple? Ummm…. Are the Vikes up for making a move to LA? I’m just being presumptuous giving all the turmoil going on up North. Interesting though. So who do you think will fill the Stadium? Do you think it will just sit empty (once it is finished being built)?
CBSSports.com Grades, Miami gets a "B"
"Chad Henne appears to be finding his footing as a quality starting quarterback in this league."
A sense of stability and assurance
It’s time we got back to our Defensive core, the core that we projected to carry us into the post season. Having Crowder and Odrick return to the line up is more a morale boost than anything. Starks can move back over to NT and Crowder can “hopefully” bring a bit of that loud “Mouth of the South” back to the field. I wasn’t a super big fan of Crowder in the past, but I’m not a big fan of shuffling players in and out, tweaking this and tweaking that to make things work during the game either. Crowder and Odrick not only bring their skills to the field, but they also bring a sense of stability and assurance. Odrick is still a rookie with little to no regular season experience, but there is a comforting nod having him back on the line.
Respecting the AFC East... passing game at least.
Well, it was a loss and yes the Defense did make mistakes, but all in all… it was a good game. A plus side is… our Offense showed the ability to make plays. On a few of those plays I think we should have run Polite…. ummmm, that 3rd and goal for example. BUT!

The 52 Card LB shuffle..... Who's doing what?
I’m sure there are tons of threads flowing around the Phinsider that can answer my questions, but I thought I’d drop it in a single spot and get some good solid answers from our “solid” writers / commenters.
Running back committee: See which are most concerning
Another bone head writer.....
John Happlin from Foxsports.com says "Ronnie Brown probably gets the carry edge over Ricky Williams until he gets hurt – and he always gets hurt. They’ll both get enough work to merit starting in most weeks."
The last time Miami went to the Super Bowl was when.....
OK, not getting to the Super Bowl is becoming "out dated" for this Phin Fan. I decided to compile a list of happenings from the year Mr. Marino completed 362 of 564 passes for over 5,000 yards and 48 touch downs..... the year of our last visit to the Super Bowl. The years start going by way too fast as we get older and we tend to lose track of time... here's a little perspective followed by a poll.
Top Ten Things that I dislike…. Hate is such a strong word.
Just another Top Ten List for a bit of humor..... CLS relief. Who coined that phrase anyways? Props to whom ever it was....
Feel free to add to the list!

How do you think the Phins will stack up?
I really try to not too look ahead toward games that we have on our schedule, but the interest is growing. Yes, I know lots of factors go in to deciding how good we could or will perform against other teams. My strongest thought is how we stack up against “the Big Boys”. I always give way to the idea that last year was last year. Will the typical leaders from last year pick up where they left off? I have a series of questions related to the Phins and teams that we will face early on. Some questions are for debate and some are just curiosities. I can’t stand looking at the schedule and thinking, “Awww crap, we gotta play them….”
August 1st and Football is in the air
I woke up this morning (in Virginia) and it’s actually cool outside. I know you Floridians laugh at the Virginia heat, but the 70’s are a great relief from the constant 100’s and 90’s we’re not use to. I opened my browser and Yahoo had a “Back to School” sign under its banner…. the cooler day (even though it won’t last) and the back to school sales are a very inspiring feeling that… yes, football season is almost here. Fall is right around the corner along with the Halloween candy, Turkey dinner, and good old family arguments between the men and women about how watching football all day long is what we want to do and to kiss our rears and get the heck out of the room….. Unless of course there’s a great play and we just have to tell them every detail like they really give a crap.

Dolphins report: Inside slant July 12, 2010 Dobbins or Crowder?
I was reading a few articles from the “Inside Slant” and I came across s quip on Dobbins and Crowder. I’m sure most of you have read this article, but I thought it would make for interesting fan thoughts. So… Dobbins or Crowder?
Lets get some wine and have a football party!!!!!
Let me think here..... when I think foot ball I think.....
- Nice worn in spot in my recliner where I plant me rear for hours of football bliss (or rage depending on the Dolphins)
- Cold beer that I make my wife or kid fetch….. Still training the dog.
- Chips on the floor that don’t quite make it to my mouth after an awesome play (or the foul language I’m screaming at the top of my lungs).
- My fat ass telling myself that I’m still good enough to play in the NFL (or realizing that there’s no way in hell that would have happened in the first place).
But the there is one thing I never think of adding with my football festivities….. A nice glass of wine to
Miami fans have given a big middle finger to Rex Ryan.
Have you guys seen the NY Post today? Those of us at the Phinsider took a poll.... Looks like Rex Ryan came out on top.... Thought you guys would find some of the comments funny..... One thing we can agree on is.... Jets Suck.
Not so Impressed with Revis Island......
I was just thinking about this Revis Island…. Maybe I hold no merit, but I’m not as impressed as most people…. Sure Revis is a good back, but where did most of his Int’s come from last year? I’m strictly talking about regular season.
Oakland = 1 QB = Russell
Buffalo = 1 QB = Fitzpatrick
Tampa Bay = 1 QB= Freeman
Carolina = 2 QB = Delhomme
Sure, he got a pick against Brady….. 1, but I just can’t stand the hype. Jairus Byrd from Buffalo is far better (9 Ints)…. Haven’t heard his name… How about the Byrd’s Nest?

Strength of Schedule 2010
Here's the strength schedule for this coming season.... I know it's all math and formulas (maybe not), but I'm not accepting that we're sitting at 16..... We have 8 games against play off teams, 2 divisional games with the Bills ( that can go either way) and and 1 game against the Steelers (they aren't slouches)...... 11 of the 16 games are going to be hard fought.... I'm not writing off the other games just looking at the "tougher" ones. Even so, I think the skins got really screwed and the Cards and Saints got it made in the shade.
1. Texans and Titans
3. Cowboys
4. Bengals
5. Jaguars
6. Pats
7. Giants
8. Redskins

Another Top Ten Post: What to do on Draft Day.
10: Make sure there’s enough beer in the fridge (who the heck wants to run out for more?)
09: Hide the credit cards: You know the wife is going to get pissed and rack them up.
08: Make sure the cable and internet bills are paid up to date…. Draft on the radio isn’t much fun.
07: Prepare a statement for the Jets that sounds something like go Buck your selves.
06: Take the battery out of the remote so the damn kids can’t “accidentally” flip it to Sponge Bob.
05: Start out with lots of coffee… it could be a late night.
04: Feed the dog, The constant, “I’m hungry” whining just gets plain annoying.
03: Lock the Damn front door so the annoying sister in law can’t get in…. be better if she had nice boobs.
02: Install remote T.V. in bathroom….. I’m sure the Taco salads going to keep me in there for a bit.
01: Install the “shut the hell up button” on the remote.

Top Ten reasons its hard being a football fan:
Just a little humor.... we can all relate to one of these.
10: There isn’t a “shut the hell up and don’t talk while the games on” button on the remote.
09: After the Super Bowl it’s cold as hell out and who cares what’s on Monday nights anymore.
08: For some reason we gain a few pounds and we swear it has nothing to with the beer and wings
07: When our team looses, we take it personally and we make sure no one else in the house is happy
06: Even if you have a season pass….. You’re not making it to every game (Yea, Not going to JETS land)
05: We come to believe that our personal good luck charms and rituals really affect the out come of a game
04: Smart ass wife points out number 5 on the list just to piss you off
03: Your local sports channel covers the golf tournament instead of the NFL double header
02: We’re forced to watch the Lions every Thanksgiving
01: Stressing over who the hell we’re going to DRAFT!

Dolphins to be busier during draft week-- Armando Salguero
Miami Herald Column.....
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/columnists/armando-salguero/index.html"The Miami roster was simply not good enough in 2009. The Dolphins didn't finish third in the division because their superstars got injured. It wasn't because the schedule was too difficult.
Miami's problem was it lacked superstars and the schedule was brimming with better teams.
The Dolphins have added considerable talent with Karlos Dansby and Marshall this offseason. While the Jets have been adding bargain-basement players such as a troubled Santonio Holmes or aging LaDainian Tomlinson, the Dolphins have been shopping on Worth Avenue, paying $93 million for Dansby and Marshall.
One nervous club source added the team believes it made further upgrades by cutting, trading or not re-signing Joey Porter, Gibril Wilson, Ginn and others.
In that sense, the Dolphins have been putting out their trash while also trying to add treasure. That demanding endeavor made the Dolphins very busy this week.
And next week could make this week seem dull by comparison. "

I'm going to be brief on this Jets post
Hey, Rex! EAT IT! What's that I hear? "Touch Down! Miami scores again!"
This just in from New York News (not really), Rex Ryan's ass just slammed shut and he choked on his horse leg this morning at the "All you can eat buffet." Also, Pats coaches are renewing thier Pass Ports to get the hell out of Dodge.
None of this is true, but I could only imagine the words coming out of those camps right now.
Miami Herald's "exploring options at guard, tight end"
Just thought I'd share these article cuttings posted by the Miami Herald's Sports Buzz this past Sunday.
"Sporting News analyst and former Browns scout Russ Lande said the players who most display the skills Miami is seeking (downfield receiving skills, good size, skill to develop into solid blockers) are Arizona's Rob Gronkowski, Southern California's Anthony McCoy, UM's Jimmy Graham and Penn State's Andrew Quarless.
The Dolphins also like Oklahoma's Jermaine Gresham, who showed he's over the knee injury that sidelined him in 2009 and likely is to be taken between Miami's picks at Nos. 12 and 43. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has Gresham as the only first-round tight end (25th overall), but UF's Aaron Hernandez and Gronkowski could go soon after.
Miami has shown an interest in McCoy and Graham, who has met with the Dolphins' Jeff Ireland and could go between the second and fifth rounds, analysts said. Quarless, who interviewed with Miami, could be a third- or fourth-rounder, Lande said.
Iowa's Tony Moeaki, Pittsburgh's Dorin Dickerson, BYU's Dennis Pitta, Oregon's Ed Dickson and Wisconsin's Garrett Graham have appealing pass-catching skills, but their blocking needs work (as does Jimmy Graham's). Dickerson is undersized at 6-2, 226 pounds."

Trying to understand prospecting Incognito.
I was thinking about this last night…. go easy on me guys, I’m just trying to understand prospecting a guy such as Richie Incognito while our needs are else where. We all know by now what those needs are. Incognito is a very tough and “mean” guy for an offensive linemen. Would it be possible to train him up at the Nose Tackle position, possibly converting him over and use his size and pure strength on the Defensive Line?
