Blazer's Edge Gavin Dawson appreciation thread.

This post is to thank Peoples Champ. First time I heard him was like 3 years ago, when he was on AM radio saturday show. I liked him right away when I heard him talk about Blazers. Even the AM radio waves could not distort his bright crisp voice. What I liked most about Gavin was that he is stariatght forward and is not PC, but thats not everything what he is good at. He was honest and had a good intuition about things, and could also speak out his thoughts in ways that some of us only dream about. So Champ we wish you luck in your career, and I know you bleed black, white, and red, and that wont change. Champ Dawson if you happen to read this post, stop by and give us some details on what radio station you will be on so we could listen to you on the internet. All in all, wish you the best, and happy for you bro, cuz you got a voice of a hero, and deep soul with a brilliant mind. You can come join us when we celebrate on broadway our championship in couple of years. Everybody lets make Peoples Champ know how we appreciate him, and write down your wishes for him.

Blazer's Edge BREAKING: Hornets to Relocate.

"We had to think about it long and hard," said team majority owner George Shinn at an emotional press conference. "But we've seen the success stories. Brandon Jennings, Josh Childress, and our very own Jannero Pargo have thrived in that environment. With the value of the dollar plummeting, there's no time like now."

The favored destinations would appear to be Barcelona, Moscow, and Stockholm, although the Bosnian city of Medugorje- whose lax tax policies and frequent religious apparations appeal to Shinn- is a darkhorse candidate.

Despite Shinn's upbeat tone, GM Jeff Bower struck a more despondent chord.  "We definitely feel like we let the league down tonight. With all the goodwill that the United States has built internationally, especially in the last decade, especially in the Middle East, we definitely feel like we let the whole country down tonight. Nobody can take this great nation seriously any more, and for that we must atone."    http://www.atthehive.com/

Im watching the Bulls-Ciltics games, and cant stop being amazed by Ben Gordon. He can shoot the ball really well. he can shoot it while still moving, he can shoot of picks, he can shoot the 3 well, and he is just good shooter. What if Blazers would get him next year. We know Roy is the point, so Ben could of play Shooting guard. I dont think it solves Blazers point guard problem, but I think he will be the best unrestricted free agent this summer. Any thoughts on this?

By clearing cap space the past two years, Thunder general manager Sam Presti has flexibility that should benefit him in free agency. While it was disappointing to not land Chandler, the Thunder could sign an up-and-coming player like Knicks big man David Lee, Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge, Atlanta’s Marvin Williams, the Lakers’ Lamar Odom or Utah’s Paul Millsap. Other free agents this summer include: Mike Bibby, Raymond Felton, Andre Miller, Linas Kleiza, Leon Powe, Charlie Villanueva and slam dunk champion Nate Robinson. It’s doubtful Presti would sign an aging All-Star. But some team will commit valuable cap space to Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd, Ron Artest and Rasheed Wallace. Oklahoman

Bobcats offering Wallace to Kings for Miller

The Charlotte Bobcats' ongoing attempts to acquire a true big man to partner Emeka Okafor have led them to propose the return of Gerald Wallace to the Sacramento Kings, NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com

The Bobcats, sources said, want Brad Miller in return.

But the Kings are unlikely to bite. They've had some interest in recent years in reacquiring Wallace — who has blossomed into a versatile and productive swingman at both ends since he was claimed by Charlotte in the 2004 expansion draft — but they also have a surplus of wing players at present ... too many to take on the four years and nearly $40 million left on Wallace's contract after this season.

Blazer's Edge Boozer opting out. Will be a Free agent next season

"I'm opting out. No matter what, I'm going to get a raise regardless," Boozer told ESPN.com. "I am going to opt out, I don't see why I wouldn't, I think it's a very good business decision for me and my family, but I'd also like to see what happens with the Jazz and stay here."

Blazer's Edge Greet Blazers at the airport after great road trip.

I dont know how we could organized it, but I would like to greet Blazers at the airport when they fly today back to Portland.

What do you guys think? How good it would make them feel if we came out 100-200 people to cheer them when they come out of the plane?

Does anybody know where they land? Maybe we can organize something together? I dont know where they land or what time, but it should be somewhere in 6 hours in Portland. If anybody could find out where they will be. Maybe someone can call the 5 quarter and find out the info?

Lets do this. GO BLAZERS.

Blazer's Edge John Hollinger, Blazers have 10.9% chance to win the title.

John Hollinger + Portland = Thanksgiving

November 30, 2008 3:53 AM

Thanksgiving weekend has been fantastic. The eating, the family, all those things we all count on ... I'm loving it.

But also, as a fan of the Portland Trail Blazers, it has also been a little bit like Christmas.

Why? Yes they have won nicely at home.

But more importantly ... Have you seen John Hollinger's power rankings?

(I have been aware of this for several days, but have not wanted to make a fuss out of it ... for fear it would later prove meaningless. But now it has been hanging around for a while, and I can't stay quiet.) Brandon Roy

Not to oversimplify things. But more or less the current state of events -- from a supercomputer programmed by one of the savviest experts in the game today -- is that all of the many teams of the NBA are spread across a vast array of quality. The exceptionally crappy Thunder are off the deep end of the charts, but ignoring that, every single team in the NBA has a Hollinger Power Ranking that is arrayed somewhere between 90 and 103 on the Hollinger scale.

The ranking is built on strength of schedule, margin of victory, and various other factors that have proven, over time, to matter.

Ignore Hollinger at your peril.

In any case, what I haven't told you is that not all the teams are either OKC or between 90 and 103 on the scale. There are actually four super teams that co-exist in the ether above the spectrum of normalcy. They're all over 108.

And they matter. Between them, these four teams hog a 90.7% likelihood of winning this year's title in an extrapolation of the power rankings.

Who are the NBA's four elite teams, based on Hollinger's formulas and the early returns? With all the normal early season provisos, and in order, they are: the Los Angeles Lakers (36.8% chance of winning the title), the Cleveland Cavaliers (30%), the Boston Celtics (13%), and ... my Portland Trail Blazers (10.9%).

By any conventional measure, the Blazers are somewhere between so-so and pretty good. They're 11-6 just like Houston, Phoenix, and Denver. They're a half game ahead of Atlanta,  about which I'm sure you are lukewarm. But Hollinger's computer knows Portland has played all kinds of tough teams, and they have had some big-time blowouts (thank you Miami and Chicago!) as well as quality wins against the likes of New Orleans, San Antonio, and Houston.

Portland is loaded down with so many weapons that many nights they can make big mistakes and still win.

Look, I'm not getting ahead of myself here. I realize that Portland still has flaws, and will not be winning a title this year.

But I'm also starting to realize that Portland's much-anticipated entry into the NBA's elite may be arriving well ahead of schedule. It couldn't be more exciting. As a fan who has been on the outside looking in for a decade and a half, it's a real thrill to be part of the Big Boy NBA conversation. Especially with a roster that features heavy minutes from three rookies (Rookie of the Year candidates Greg Oden and Rudy Fernandez, as well as starter Nicolas Batum) and is built for three years from now.

Where does that leave us? With a lot to look forward to (if by "we" we mean "Portland fans"). Virtually every Blazer can be expected to get better over the course of the next two or three years. And yet, even now in its infancy this Portland roster is a profound threat to win every game it plays. It's a nice situation.

Unless, of course, you find yourself in the peculiar position of being both a national NBA blogger with a commitment to fairness and a dyed-in-the-wool Blazer fan. I have long feared the day when by Blazer fandom could cause profound and persisent objectivity problems for my NBA coverage.

That time is coming.

Please, bear with me.

Walsh: I'm Worried About Oden

Nov 30, 2008 6:08 PM EST

Knicks general manager Donnie Walsh was asked about the state of the NBA and the future of talented big men like Greg Oden and Andrew Bynum recently.

"I'm a little worried about Oden," Walsh admitted. "He's young and these young guys come in, but their bodies are not ready for the NBA, and they do get hurt. I think with real young players, they're not ready for the NBA. All of a sudden they're playing at our speed and our tempo against men. It seems that even if they don't get hit, they start breaking down a little bit."

Blazer's Edge B-Roy "Greg Oden better than Dwight Howard".(Poll)

In the morning Wheels came on 95.5 the game and said that Roy told him  Greg Oden is better than Dwight Howard. Roy didnt say that Oden will be better, but he said that he is better.

So Im wondering what does B-Roy sees that I dont see? Is Oden showing something in practice that he cant on the court? Does anybody think that if we had Howard on our team we would be 8-0, and unstoppable in the future? If Oden wont be as half of what Howard is by the end of the year, then I think Roy just said this to bring Odens confidence up. Because I dont see Oden better than Howard. Maybe I need some vision change.

Ok. Would you trade Oden for Howard now? Is Oden better than Howard? I just dont understand why Roy said that. What does he mean, or whats the purpose of Roy saying that? Cuz its obvious that Oden is not better than Howard.... yet, or ever.

Blazer's Edge Blazers probably will miss the Playoffs

Since Denver made the trade they might be better cuz now they have a real point guard that will make their whole team better. So what is this going to do to the Blazers hopes to make the playoffs? If Oden wont be that monster after the new years, it will be hard to make the playoffs.

1 - L@kers

2 - Hornets

3 - Rockets

4 - Jazz

5 - Spurs

6 - Mavricks

7 - Suns

8 - Denver - Portland?

It will be hard for the Blazers to make it. I see that Dallas, Suns, and Spurs will make the playoffs. The 8th spot is left open for the grabs. I think Denver, Portland and Warriors will be fighting for that spot. We really can get left behind after we play our hard schedual, and if we are going to have those little injuries it might mess with our chemistry. Anybody has the any idea how hard the schedual will be for Denver in the the end of the season so we could at least have an idea how this might end? But you never know Blazers might make a big trade in the middle of the season so it might help them to slip in that 8th spot. What do you think, maybe we be in the 5th spot and dont have to worry about anything?

Blazer's Edge Blazers-Info packed Junk Drawer -- Oct 11, 2008

It's official: Greg Oden fever is completely out of control

The rash has gotten so bad, that even Raps fans are writing Oden love letters. A few excerpts: "By all accounts, I'm a pretty average dude. I have a job, live in an apartment, have a few friends (very few) and sometimes girls talk to me. [...] Completely average, except for one thing; I have an unhealthy obsession with a top-heavy 82-year-old, seven foot man from Indiana. I'm looking at you Greg Oden. My obsession with Oden goes so far that I actually caught myself looking for jobs in Portland just so I could be closer to the Trail Blazers and follow Oden's career; and I'm a Raptors fan. [...] The guy is just genuine, real, damn good at ball and just makes me smile — makes me smile so much that I can't close my mouth for hours — no, really, it's quite painful." What about you, do you suffer from chronic Odenitis?

TrueHoop By Henry Abbott:

Benjamin Golliver of BlazersEdge with a funny cheap shot at Warrior guard Marcus Williams, who was famously convicted of stealing laptops at UConn: "According to the Warriors Media Guide, Richard Hendrix's 3 favorite items are his Bible, his laptop and his phone. Funny thing about that: Marcus Williams also listed Richard Hendrix's laptop as one of his 3 favorite things." It's gallows humor, really. Blazer fans are just bitter that the list of players recovering from injuries -- Brandon Roy, Steve Blake, Greg Oden, Channing Frye -- now includes Rudy Fernandez (sprainedankle) and Martell Webster (stress fracture in foot)

HoopsHype-NBA Rumors

Just wondering: With Martell Webster out with a stress fracture in his left foot, and with Portland lacking definitive answers at small forward, could this be the moment the Heat has been looking for to maximize its trade value of Marion? If the Blazers start talking about LaMarcus Aldridge, the Heat figures to be a very attentive listener. South Florida Sun-SentineIt'S

Its old but funny:

Why then, did Shaq rip Kobe in that infamous freestyle rap over the summer? ``That was my bad, a bad thing to do,'' O'Neal said. ``I just threw his name in at the end, it was a bad move on my part.'' Los Angeles Daily News

O'Neal said he called Kobe shortly after the video hit TMZ.com and apologized, Bryant accepted the apology and the two have put it behind them. Los Angeles Daily News

While Travis Outlaw is said to be next in line for the starting spot, experimenting at small forward will be at a premium in Portland in the coming days and weeks. Another option is to start Fernandez – once he gets some treatment on the ankle and is truly healthy – but that will likely mean also a change at shooting guard as well. "Rudy's not a three," McMillan added. "I think if Rudy is playing and Brandon (Roy) is out there, I think Brandon is most likely the guy to fill-in at the three spot. So yeah, we can go with Brandon and Rudy out on the floor. We can go with Travis and I think this is an opportunity to take a real look at Nicolas (Batum)." HoopsWorld

Still, the topic of conversation remains, when Fernandez is healthy is he a realistic candidate to start for Portland? "We may have to look at that. After these preseason games, I'll make a decision," McMillan continued. "Losing a player that was in rotation – whether Martell was starting or if I decided to bring him off the bench – we lose a piece of this team, and I think an important piece. It's not a season ending injury. But again, we have to make adjustments. This is an opportunity." HoopsWorld

Despite his contract status, Miles is hardly seen by the rest of the Celtics as a hanger-on. “The guys have treated me really well, especially Ticket (Kevin Garnett), Ray (Allen) and Paul (Pierce),” he said. “Those guys know me from before. I’ve had some wars with those guys, so they know what I can do. That makes me feel more comfortable.” Boston Herald

MIles Playing on NBAtv with boston

over 3 years ago Picture_533_tiny RipCity 5 comments

Source: Boston. com

Miles making gains with Celtics
Darius Miles made a breakthrough Friday, practicing for the fourth successive day for the first time since undergoing microsurgery on his right knee two years ago. If Miles continues to progress, he could play a major part in the Celtics' eight-game exhibition schedule.

"Before practice, [Miles] was thinking about shutting it down for a day, but he was encouraged to practice and I thought he had maybe his best practice so far," said coach Doc Rivers.

Miles, who turns 27 Thursday, the day after the Celtics play Philadelphia in Amherst, Mass., in their exhibition opener, has not played a regular-season game since 2006 with Portland. He will be suspended for the first 10 games of the regular season after violating the league's drug policy at the end of last season.

"I usually go two or three hard days and take a day off, just to be real cautious with the knee," Miles said. "I wanted to practice every day, if I can. I don't want to miss learning anything. This is my first time playing four days in a row and I felt good. I just kept trying to stretch it and stay loose. I felt better than I did [Thursday]."

Miles was going full speed late in Friday's 2½-hour practice, missing a dunk off the back of the rim in a half-court set, then stuffing on a spectacular fast break. Miles has mostly been used at power forward, often matching up against Glen Davis.

Blazer's Edge Future injuries

I want to talk about these crazy little injuries and major injuries. Today Steve Blake went down with some kind of injury yesterday it was Oden with an ankle. LaFrentze had a surgery. Roy had a surgery about a month ago. Frye had some garbage removed from his body. Ike is kind of hurt. Joel broke his hand at the end of last season. And the big injury that happened to Oden a year ago. And bunch more injuries that happend during the season to our players last year. To me these injuries are gettin old, it kind of gets to me now.  Im not that worried about these little injuries, but if they will happen to us with current speed and amount of players it can be hard to reach the playoff this season. What is reasonble amout of injuries a team can handle with out loosing it? I dont know but it seams that this year one of our big three can go down with a major injury. If they are only playing in pick up games and getting injured, that playing in a real game can be more dangerous. If the Blazers keep on missing a player here and there during the regular season I think it will be a little diappointing, cuz they wont mesh as well with changes that will be made all the time. What do you guys think will one of the Blazers go down with a big injury, or will it be just little injuries happening all the time to various players? Maybe from now on everybody will be healthy? Tell me what you think is going on with the Blazers? Im kind of have this image that the Blazers over worked them selves in the summer and now it kind of shows, and im a (not alot) little alarmed by the frequancy of the injuries that happen to the blazers, and I dont even want to think that some one from the team will go down big time during the season. Your thoughts and concerns?

Blazer's Edge What if Kobe Bryant is a Blazer?

Ok before you destroy my post for saying that I want to give a few arguments that it is possible. When its all said and done the team is about wining  championships. I dont really hate Kobe because I know someone that has exact character as Bryant, so I can understand him. I just hate him because he plays for the L*kers. I hate that team, so if something is in that team I hate it too, but not on the personal level. I can see Kobe opting out of his contract in summer 2009 to get his last big contract. Plus if he opts out in 2010 he will be older and there is  competion with LeBron, Wade, Bosh for good contracts. In 2009 he will easy be the biggest  unristricted free agent, so that works better for him to opt out then, than a year later. Plus Bynums agent is theatening to leave if his client wont get a max contract(80 million over 5 years). But that said, it wont happen if the L*kers win the champion next year.  I remember Kobe was allways complementive of the Blazers last season. He said that out team has a bright future. I think that Kobe is smart and he can see that if L*akers cant win the ring then there is nothing left to do on their roster for a vet like him. Basketball is his job, so he knows who has the most cap space at what time, and where is the best chance to rub it in Shaqs face, and win a ring. I can see the Blazers as the best chance to win a ring, and Kobe likes to play with young guys because they listen( unlike older players that alredy have an agenda), so it is easy for him to be him self. I dont think that if Kobe would opt out KP would not go after him. On what player can KP spend the money we will have in 2009, there wont be no Chris Paul, and probably no Deron williams? I know that Blazers can make a sign and trade with some team, but its as possible that Blazers can sign Bryant. i dont think that he is going to be a problem in the locker room, because our guys will respect him, because they are good guys, and he is a MVP, that won 3 rings. There is no quetion about it that he will be respected on our team(I dont know about our fans, but as soon as we are the best team in the NBA, fans will start to like him, like he was loved in LA). Yeah the only negative is his past. But there is nothing like beating his wife or getting caught with drugs(drugs? everybody wish that drugs got leagal). I heard some one on the radio say that KP has something really big up his sleeve, and that it will really hurt our rivals. So I dont exculed the possibility that Kobe can play on our team. More over I would be happy to get him here, I think that he is good guy that got a little spoiled. I dont really care what fans of other teams will call us if he would be a Blazer. Im sorry if I wrote the article in a way hard to read, but Im not sorry for saying that I think that he would be good for the Blazers, because Im hungry for championships, and I think that alot people are hypocrits because he plays for the L*akers and not their team.

Blazer's Edge "Anatomy of Pritchslap" got a response from Charlotte.

The article "Anatomy of Pritchslap", that was writen by Ben, got a response from Charlotte fans. They basicly belive that Larry brown wanted DJ, but Jordan wanted Westbrook. There was a deal that would sent Westbrook to Charlotte, but they had to give up alot for him, so it didnt go thru. Here are some of the responses from Bobcats fans that read the "Anatomy of Pritchslap". Here we go.

"my god what a piece of garbage. i am really starting to dislike 99% of blazer fans.
maybe, just maybe, charlotte wanted augustine over bayless and could give two **** about what the pacers, nets kings and blazers did in the next 4 picks. maybe just maybe, KP, being the smart gm that he is knew that after the bucks took alexander at 8, augustine, bayless and lopez were still left on the board. he wanted a pg and would gladly take either bayless or augustine. knowing the nets would not take a pg since they just traded for devin harris and needed a center, KP did some 1st grade math and figured out that if he could get to 11 he would most likely get either augustine or bayless. so he calls LB...larry bird (not larry brown) and makes a deal. there was no need for him to panic and make a deal with the bobcats, especially, knowing larry brown and his preference for pass first pgs. of course he also could have read anyone of a dozen papers last week and known that LB was very high on augustine as well. come on people. sometimes the most logical explanation is the right one."                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Wow....exhibbit 1a for the case that blogs are journalistically irresponsible......

Seems a bit irresponsible to me to accuse Kevin Pritchard of what amounts to fraud, (making a legally binding verbal contract intending all the while to back out) with 0 evidence.

This is the kind of thing that would cost draft picks if it came out.......I could see the NBA giving Portland the Joe Smith/Minnesota Treatment AND forcing the trade through.

Also...I'm not sure if this kind of thing is even possible....We'd have to ask someone more in the know, but I imagine that in the cases where Team A picks a player for Team B, both parties call the league to confirm the deal first."                                                                                                                                 "There was no way Charlotte was going to select Bayless or Lopez. Okafor is a center. He sucks at Power Forward. Lopez can't play PF. So why take Lopez to be the third center behind Nazr?

Bayless is not a PG, hes a combo guard who can handle the ball. Charlotte doesn't need one of those, they have one (Felton). Charlotte has been searching everyhwere for a true, pass-first PG since Knight left, and they went out and got one.

There is a lot of bias against MJ because of the decisions he has made in Washington. The only bad decision he has made in Charlotte was hiring Sam Vincent, but I believe he wanted LB last year but LB said no. Now he has a great coach. The J-Rich trade was brilliant.

Blazer fans think they could have had a deal with Charlotte because they think they wanted Jarrett Jack. That is not the case. Jack paired with Felton is not a good PG combo at all. Both had limited court vision, take too many shots, and can't finish. Jack would quit the NBA if he had to play for LB.

Again I think a lot of this "What is Charlotte doing?" is accredited to the media and their total lack of a clue to what the Charlotte Bobcats are. They think Okafor can play PF, when thats like asking Ben Wallace in his prime to play PF. They think Felton is an up and coming PG, when in reality he has probably peaked and is an average PG at best in a PG's league. They have no clue who is Ajinca is or why LB would pick him. So if fans of other teams try to pass off blogs as smart information, you should probably stop following the media to get your Bobcats information."                                                                                                                                                      "Just out of curiosity, why would Jordan want Westbrook if we turned down Bayless becasue he's a "combo that can handle the ball"?

Who knows if this is true. I can see DJ preferring Portland due to there not being any competition for "future" (maybe that's why he looked so down on draft night). We might possibly have pulled Frye and Jack out of the deal as well as the 13th, which would have went a long way in helping out our 4/5 position. Add to that LB seeming to prefer vets (not saying he doesn't play rooks...agreed with Walt's post above) and it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Doesn't matter now anyway as I think DJ fills a need and will fit in fine with us. Yet to see what happens with Ajinca; hopefully he'll come in and be more ready than a lot think.

I asked this in the draft thread, but is MJ/LB that transparent leading up to the draft? Is this a good think if so? I thought MJ was a gambler...if this is how he gambles then I'm surprised he hasn't went thru all that NIKE money no matter how much it is."

Blazer's Edge Why did Bayless fall so far down?

Im really happy that KP got us Bayless. KP told some of the blazers broadcasters that Indiana will take a point guard, even before the draft started. But Indiana already traded for T J Ford, so they didnt need a point guard. KP gave us a hint that he is going to trade with Indiana, but nobody got it as far as I know. But this is what I want to know did KP already know that Bayless will be at #11, or he was just proposing that there will be either one of the good point guards(Bayless, Westbrook, D J, Gordon) at that spot, and therefor made a deal before the draft with Indiana. If He knew what other GMs will pick, then KP works for CIA. KP said that the draft went exactly like he predicted up to pick 15. The other quetion I have is; why did Bayless droped so low in the draft? I heard some ideas that those 10 teams ahead of Indiana dont have a 2 guard like Brandon Roy(exclude Miami), and thats why they were looking more for a true point guard than a scoring guard. And one last thing after watching some youtube, I think that Westbrook will be better than Bayless, but Bayless is still young and can become better down the road. (Addition) I didnt see that this topic was allready discused before. So I found a link to an article, that says that KP is not done dealing. HoopsWorld Article

Blazer's Edge What NBA teams(fans) want for #13

I went to all NBA teams sites and some of them are interested in our #13 pick. I know that its no proof of what the GMs will do, but we can speculate. This is all we do is speculate and predict (unless KP comes here under the name of Mortimer) what will KP do to get us a PG, and some vet help. Here are all of the teams(fans) that are interested in our #13 pick; Houston, Cleveland, Atlanta, Chicago, LA Clippers, Memphis, Orlando. What can we package with our #13 pick to move up the draft? Or maybe some of these teams have a vet that we can steal, if they want to rebuid? I know that there are people that know more about other teams and what they would be willing to give up, so I would like to see a proposal. Im just too tiered looking thru all the other teams posts.

Blazer's Edge We can get Hinrich for #13 and Jack.

Ok I know that this topic has been in here for a long time. The deal for Hinrich. If Chicago Bulls select Derick Rose, then we could trade for Hinrich. I know that annthefan dont want to give up Outlaw(#25). And Some people dont want to give up Marty either. I been on realGM Bulls site, and they know that we want to trade our pick, and are willing to give us Hinrich for our 13 pick and Jack. Thats strange that they would value him so low. Another proposal was to trade Ben Gordon to us for Our #13 pick. Also They would trade Hinrich and Nocioni for Blazers 13 pick and Lafrentze. I think that they are too over excited. I remember when we got the #1 pick last year we were happy to trade Z-Bo, what looked like for nothing at that time. But now we have Frye, Rudy, and JJ. I think that they want to unload contracts to run at Lebron James. It was funny reading their comments, some of them think that they wont get any better offer for Hinrich than our 13 pick and Jack. What do you guys think should we trade our 13 and Jack for Hinrich? I think we will have to add another player so the salaries would work. But I think its worth it. Lets do it now since they are high on their #1 pick.

Blazer's Edge Bulls Noah charged for marijuana

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP)—Authorities in Gainesville have charged Chicago Bulls forward Joakim Noah with possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol.

Gainesville police spokesman Sgt. Rick Roberts says Noah was arrested around 1:50 a.m. Sunday after an officer spotted him on a sidewalk holding a plastic cup containing an amber drink, a violation of city law. During a search at the station, officers found marijuana in his pocket.

Noah was released after signing a notice to appear before a judge—standard procedure for such offenses. He could face up to 6 months in jail and a $500 fine for the marijuana charge.

Noah led the Gators to consecutive national championships before being selected ninth overall in last June’s draft by the Bulls. He averaged 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 74 games as a rookie.

Bulls spokesman Tim Hallam said general manager John Paxson “did express to Joakim his disappointment in his actions this weekend” and added: “Until we gather further information on this situation, we won’t be making any further comment.”

Blazer's Edge Blazers games in theater in 3D

Hey I was thinking about this idea that I heard on the radio. I know that the Rose Garden will be packed next year, especialy on the opening night. Every body will want to see Greg Oden. I know that there probably will be more than 20,000 people that would want to be there, but will sit home to watch on tv, because of different reasons. Well I was thinking would't it be nice if Paul Allen would build, a big theater, so we could go watch Blazers on big sreen, and have it in 3D(you know those glasses u put on). I would like to have a theater where I could go watch Blazers in 3D.
