Meeting Crawford at the Airport?
I was just wondering if there were any plans to welcome Jamal Crawford to the team by meeting him at the airport when his flight gets in?
Wall Street Journal Article on Timbers v Sounders Rivalry
Didn't see this posted yet, but it is pretty good read. Also it should make you hate Sounders fans even more.
Excited for Tomorrow, One Request.
I have been looking forward to this day since attending my first Timber's match in 2002. Sadly because of work I am not able to attend in person however I will be watching in a bar in our nation's capital. My only request is that the Timbers Army do the Tetris chant loud enough for me to hear through the TV. Again I am truly sorry I cannot be there on such an epic occasion, but hearing that chant will make me feel at home. Thank You I would be very grateful. (RCTID)

Am I The Only Person Who Thinks the Cal Game was Our Most Impressive Victory?
I know that might sound crazy to people on this blog but i'll explain. My only knock on this team, that I have stated to my friends time and time again is that the Ducks have not proved they can win a close one on the road. I was worried that they just got stuck in this pattern of trailing early and then wearing teams down and then blowing them out in the 3rd. I wondered what would have happened if a team stuck around as long as Cal did. How would our young but talented team react? I think this game proved something about our team. They could have very easily lost that game sure, but the most important thing is that they didn't. After the Cal game I really felt like this was a championship team. Every championship team gets tested. Good teams find a way to win and bad teams find a way to lose. The fact that Oregon can be knocked off its game and still win is a true statement and shows me the caliber of our coaching staff. I am not saying that I know that we will win the rest of our games, however I feel a lot better about it now having struggled the way we did. When a team struggles it gives them the chance to refocus and understand that they are not invincible. So my point is that we may look back at this Cal game as the best win of the season. I could be wrong but that is just my thoughts on it. There is always a silver lining.
Going to Game Day in SLC on Saturday
Since I live so far away from Eugene I never get the chance to attend game day there. But now Game Day is coming to my little corner of the U.S. I was just wondering if any of you have any tips for a first timer. What time should I get down there and where should I situate myself to make sure I am on TV. Also and good sign ideas will be considered. Any info you have will help thanks.
Probably the Strangest Story Related to the Ducks All Season.
Can't imagine what it would have been like to be this dude. We should take up a collection and get the man a new Duck's jersey.
Some perspective on Poll Positions.
I live in Idaho, and this week as been insane. A lot of hate being spewed in my direction do to the new poll standings. I have even had BSU fans lecture me on SOS. Really?!?!
First of all my thoughts on the arguments.
1. Boise is being punished for a schedule they haven't even played yet.
So.... What is Boise going to suddenly not play the rest of its schedule. It is still an inevitability that they are going to play it.
2. Boise beat Oregon last year.
Well I think you have to go solely by what happens this season. This is a different team than the one that showed up in Boise. What are the two most important positions in our offense? QB and RB. When we last played Boise our QB was, well you know who, and LMJ did get very many carries because Blount was out starter.
3. Oregon is going to end up losing a game at some point this season.
Ok so when that happens Boise will move back in front of them, so why is everyone freaking out about where they are now. The only poll standings that matter are the ones at the end of the season.
4. Oregon hasn't really played anyone yet.
This is my favorite. One of my friends (who is a BSU fan) even mentioned that we had a warm up game against New Mexico and the reason they almost lost to Va Tech was first game jitters. Funny because this was the same argument that he criticized Oregon fans for making last season. Also by arguing that strength of schedule should be taken into account essentially solidifies every argument made against BSU. Further more it is ridiculous to criticize Oregon's "warm up game" against New Mexico when BSU has 9 "warm up games" on their schedule.
Anyway I don't really know what the point of this post is, but I think that I just wanted to let Duck fans know that we shouldn't stress about the polls. Lets enjoy our awesome season. Win The Day and we will see where things shake out at the end of the season. There is no point in arguing with BSU fans, since most of them are new to college football and will honestly try and make a valid argument that the Broncos could beat the bottom 10 teams in the NFL (this was actually brought up). The fact is we wont really know if these two teams are better or not until they play on the gridiron and that may or may not happen this year. So until then sit back and enjoy the ride. Same goes for you BSU fans.

It is always nice when they give us some love.

yeah take the Boise State.
New Beer named after LeBron for the bitter taste it leaves in your mouth.
I think the term "Quitness" is really funny.
LeBron-A-Thon Open Thread
I figured we could get one of these going, since I am now distracted at work and wont be able to focus until we find out where LeBron is going. I for one think it would be great if LeBron just pulls a fast one and signs with the Bobcats and throws everything off. However I wouldn't mind him on the Knicks, when was the last time they were good? I am not a big fan of the Miami idea just feel like he would be giving up on his full potential. Then again has he already peaked? Discuss........
AJ Brady of Bleacher Report gives his take on where Lebron should go.
I think it is interesting that these rumors keep popping up. I for one think that the Blazers have something like .001% chance of landing him, however in the famous words of Lloyd Christmas "so you're telling me there's a chance!" Anyways I just thought these little pieces were fun to read to see what other people's takes are on the situation.
Ian Thomsen on Dan Patrick radio show, mentions Portland as a possible landing place for Lebron.
I just thought that this was interesting. I think the likelihood is extremely small, but when you have nike in your back yard and the richest owner in sports on your side I guess anything is possible.
I wasn't sure how to get the audio link in the fan shots so you can get it on this web page.
Watching Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw get in a fight on Sports Center in another team's jersey is like seeing your ex-girlfriend post pictures of herself with another guy on Facebook.
Me
Portland has the best fans in the NBA.......
So this is the thought that I had come to after the recent events that have transpired. I believe that we as Trail Blazers fans have the unique opportunity to prove that we really ARE the best fans, not only in the NBA but in all of sports.
Previously when the Trail Blazers have struggled our attendance has sagged, mainly due to the whole metro area being fed up with the "jailblazers". This is different however, This team we can really get behind and I think that is exactly what they need. Call this a rallying cry but I do believe that fans can affect the outcome of a game. Even if we start to dip below that .500 mark we need to spread the word and spread that Blazer love and show up to every game with that same fever pitch level that we have seen over the past year. I don't want us to be one of those teams whose attendance fluxuates with our win/loss record.
I believe that we have the chance to show the nation how much we really care for our team. For better or for worse they are our team, and the only team we have. Lets cheer them on at every game like it is Game 7 of the NBA finals. This goes for all of you displaced Blazers fans as well. Lets continue to show up in mass support on the road as well. I really feel that if we prove the NBA that we are the most loyal fanbase other players will start to notice and we can land those free agents that have eluded us in the past. Lets make Portland the place to be in the NBA regardless of how well our team is doing.

For all those who think Milsap can't play Center.
I read an article with quotes from Milsaps agent saying he could play three positions SF,PF,and C. This proves at least one of them correct.

Question about the Content on this site.
Growing up in Oregon I am a full time Ducks fan, having lived in Idaho for 5 years now I am a part time Broncos fan, meaning anytime BSU is not playing the Ducks I cheer for them. That being said please do not take offense when I say it seems like there is a lot of talk about the Oregon Ducks on this blog, I mean it is almost like the people here cannot get enough of them. Whether it is talking about the New Coach they have or the uniform redesign. Also I noticed the O in your main picture bares an uncanny resemblance to the Oregon O it is just a different color. I my question is this. What are the general feelings towards the Oregon Ducks on this site. Personally I am a huge Ducks fan but I have a huge amount of respect for the Broncos and all that they have accomplished.
Looking forward to a great game in September, See you at Bronco Stadium and GO DUCKS!!!!!!
Support the Blazers on Facebook!
So my friend and I were discussing ways to show our support and solidarity as the most loyal and avid fan base in America and we came up with what we think is a pretty cool idea. For the remainder of the Playoffs change your profile status the the RISE WITH US BANNER. I think that would be a really cool way of telling the rest of the country that we are proud of our team and the work they put in to get where they are and to get to where they are going as well.
Happy Easter to everyone out there in Blazerland.
Behind Enemy Lines
<!--StartFragment-->
For the past few years I have been attending a private University in eastern Idaho located a few short hours from Salt Lake City. You guessed it this is Jazz country. I can’t stand the undeserved sense of accomplishment that Jazz fans have. First of all your name doesn’t match the city you live in, secondly you have probably the lousiest fan base in America (IE chanting Cancer to Derek Fisher). The reason I bring this up is that for the past few years I have had to endure constant harassment from these so called loyalists who, if I remember correctly dropped the team flat on it’s face after Stockton and Malone peaced out. Even now their support is spotty at best, I went to a game as part of a career fair about two months ago and the place was literally half empty, but since Mormons (Jazz fans) are overly optimistic people they would probably argue that it is half full. Now I know what you are thinking about the Mormon comment but I actually am a “Mormon” as well and I have to say sometimes they can be so ridiculous (like rooting for the Jazz). But I digress; the fact of the matter is; now I finally have something to say back to them.
The following is an actual argument that took place in front of a Dairy Queen approximately 3 hours ago.
(As I leave my car and head into the restaurant I ran into a friend of mine who took it upon herself to talk a little trash to me after the Utah Jazz started out the season 5-0, from there on out you had to know this would be war I would not stand idly by and have my fan hood endure such mockery)
Me: (wearing my old school Steve Smith jersey… laundry day) Hey how about those Jazz huh? Hope you guys enjoy the 8th seed and losing to the Lakers in the first round.
Jazz fan that thinks we are friends and is actually from Virginia but happens to be a Jazz fan because her boyfriend is: Well uh uh. What is that a child size small Martell Webster jersey?
Me: No actually it is my vintage Steve Smith jersey that I have had since high school.
Poser Jazz fan: Oh I was just wondering.
Me: it’s ok I would be in a bad mood too if my team couldn’t win on the road.
Jazz fan again: All I have to say is Sam Bowie, Darius Miles, and the latest Greg Oden.
Me: funny you would mention Greg Oden who actually leads the league in offensive rebounds in his rookie season, and how many rings do the Jazz have again….?
Jazz fan: (silence)
My point is that many of you probably encounter conversations like this every day, well I want to give you a chance to vent in the comments below lets share our best “Behind Enemy Lines” story. I don’t want this thread to turn into a religious debate I have already told some Mormons that they are wrong a on few things, being Jazz fans for one, I mean don’t the realize that Brigham Young was a Trail Blazer?
