A long suffering Buffalo Bills fan. I am one of those pathetic saps that buys the hype every year and hopes..."maybe this year" and after the ship sinks I still watch the games and suffer. I watch every game until the bitter end thinking..."maybe I will witness a Reich like comeback." Born in Rochester and lived in Geneseo, but I haven't lived in WNY since I was a wee child. I remain a tried and true Bills fan. Will I ever be rewarded for my loyalty...probably not, but in the slim chance that someday I see the Bills win a Super Bowl it will be as sweet as sweet can be.

Bleacher Report NFL 2012 Power Rankings
Nice little article...they give some kudos to Buffalo, and rank the Bills #10. I know power rankings are meaningless, but I hope they are right.
POLL RESULTS: MEET YOUR SON-IN-LAW
Well the original poll entitled "Poll: Which draft pick would you approve of to marry your daughter?" has been closed and the votes have been counted. When asked who you would allow your daughters to marry, the majority of the Bill's fanbase sold out and went for the money.
I can't blame you, everybody likes more cash, or so the Jimmy Fallon commercial for Capital One tells us. I personally took the high road and voted for the guy rated as the best player as far as protective instincts would go (Matt Kalil).
In any case please find your new SON - IN - LAW after the jump!
POLL: Which draft pick would you approve of to marry your daughter?
I am tired of reading mock drafts and filling in the standard polls online. So it is my turn to have some fun. I am the father of two daughters who are a long way from being of dating age. However, suspending reality for a second if you had a daughter who was old enough, which one of these athletes would you choose as a son in law?
Please keep your answers as clean as possible, be creative and funny will go a long way. At the end of the poll who ever receives the most rec's for their comment will be honored appropriately at the same time as we the fanbase's future NFL in-law.

No respect from Raider fans...
Spending most of my youth in the Bay area with Raider fans, I am not surprised by this one. I think there is only one or two comments on this post that even give a glimmer of respect to the Bills.
Buffalo's All-Pro Development, and Retention
I like a large proportion of Buffalo Rumblings followers (83% at last count) was especially surprised to see my beloved franchise trade Lee Evans for a reported 4th round pick. Although he has not been a Pro-Bowler as of yet, he has been a Pro-Bowl worthy member during this turbulent time in the franchise's history from a fans perspective.
This got me thinking...one of the routine criticisms of the franchise has been its inability, or unwillingness, to retain talented players drafted and developed under the Bill's system(s) who then move on to become All-Pro performers. The words "farm team" have been thrown around a lot lately. To prove or disprove this point I hunkered down by the computer for an afternoon and ran my own analysis. I needed a quick way to address talent and success, and the efforts by the franchise to retain those talented players. To achieve this I took a look at all of the Bill's draftees over the past 20 years, and at least one signee who was undrafted (our favorite OT with the Eagles). I then compared those draftees to the roster of Pro-Bowlers over the past decade. Once I had identified all of those players that had earned Pro-Bowl roster spots (including those appearing as reserves, and those not appearing due to injury) I took a look at their careers with the Bills, in many cases the situations in which they parted with the Bills, and how their career progressed or regressed after that point.
Those that have paid any attention to my regular postings will know that I don't tend to put an enormous amount of effort into my posts. Well that is about to change after the jump. If you note any errors or omissions I claim two young daughters and an irritated wife as my excuses.

Playoff Drought or 4 SB Losses Poll...
As I prepare myself for the (hopefully) upcoming football season I begin my annual reflection of what it means to be a Bills fan. Every year I ask myself why... I stare at my old AFC East Champions sweatshirt and think, what is this thing worth to me? If this lock out ever ends I hope that we get a full season, and that the new Bills show up. It would be a good year to end one of the curses facing this organization. So for those more than short timers that have at the very least 20 years invested in this team I pose the following question...
A list of current free agent QB's without a team...
The following is a list of current free agent QB's without an NFL team...

None of these names inspire a lot of confidence in me, and highlight the reason why Trent was picked up by the Jaguars. So is there anyone on there you think the Bills should consider?
Poll: 3-4 Transition better for Offense or Defense
Offense...
Go back a year and change and one of the biggest criticisms of Trent Edwards was that he was baffled by the 3-4 defense. While I am to lazy to produce stats on this, I invite anyone else to prove or disprove that point. With that said, I am of the strong opinion that the shift of the defense to the 3-4 actually helped Trent out. Pretty simple, the more time he has facing it in practice, from first string quality talent, the better chance he has to figure it out. The same can be said for the O-line, receivers, etc.
Defense...
Now I am also of the strong opinion that we actually had a good Defense last year. Yes the secondary rocked, and yes we had some issues with the run...to say the least...but I was never on the bandwagon to swap out for the 3-4. That said, I still appreciate the fact that it sucked to face the 3-4, so if you can't beat them...join them...mentality. The biggest problem our D faced was injury, more talent needed at the line, and well they just had to play for too long per game.
So what do you think...in the end only the regular season will tell.
Spiller = Confused birthday kid...
Dear Chix,
Kind of like the kid who couldn't wait for my birthday I blinked and it has come and gone. The sugar high has died off, I am a little confused. I don't know if the gift I got (Spiller) is what I really wanted but none the less it is a cool toy. Yeah I needed shoes (OT), pants (NT), some socks (WR), not to mention backup clothes in other apparel areas....so what now? Do I try and trade my old toys (Whitner or Lynch) to try and get another cool toy (Clausen), or will that new toy be as defective as a Chinese manufactured lead covered one armed action figure (Ryan Leaf)?
One of the only things I have looked forward to the Bill's doing well at in recent years are the draft, which ranks a little higher than stellar punts, and non-fumbled kick returns.
Please Chix make this all work out, I don't want to have to write off another coach/front office...
Sincerely,
One punch drunk Bills fan.

QB's in the Superbowl by draft position...
I borrowed this one off of DraftHistory.com...it is attributed to Chris Malumphy. I haven't checked it for accuracy but it seems to be pretty good. It begs the question of whether the fact that a QB is drafted early makes a franchise stick with them longer....or if the 1st rounders are always that much more successful than the rest. I previously commented that the scouts have no clue, but this does counter my argument. Any thoughts?
