Jimmy Kimmel makes a shout out to Tony Gywnn...
Kinda cool, last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live while interviewing Mike Tyson, Kimmel says ".... its a sport you studied intensely, maybe more intensely than I've ever heard any athlete study anything. It reminded me of a baseball player, Tony Gywnn, who would watch videos of the other pitchers and other batters and study them so intensely..."
Nice to see Kimmel recognizing Tony like that! But comparing Iron Mike Tyson to Tony Gywnn...? Tony wins in 6, minus an ear
New MVP's and maybe more?!
After reading this article (http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3915217) on the possibility of stripping away MVP's to everyone found guilty (admitted or accused) of using steroids during an award winning season... Might as well strip the teams of their seasons. That way it puts more pressure on the players and the teams/team management to enforce steroid use. Can you imagine a team being stripped of a WS Championship. You can even start it next season and spare the teams of the past the shame. I know this will never work because there's always that excuse, I didn't know it was in my supplement or I was told I was getting something else, but what if?
Is Peavy a product of Petco Park?
As Peavy trade talks continue, Rob Neyer writes an Interesting article on Peavy and his Petco numbers versus road numbers.
I say of course his numbers are slightly better, but who's shouldn't be in a pitcher friendly park. But pitcher friendly park or not, a K is K. Yeah, he'll give up more homers, but at least you know you're getting a pitcher who's not going to strain his ribcage (again).
