When is this guy going to get called up? He homered last night and I believe he had a mulit-homer game earlier this week. Every time I look at his line in the box score, he has a hit or a walk. Does he finish the year in AAA and how good a major league hitter do you think he will be?

Minor Threat had a great hard core punk song in the early 80s called "FILLER" !

None of the three candidates for the fifth starter spot in Cleveland are impressing so far. Cliff Lee, Jeremy Sowers, and Aaron Laffey have all been hit hard and have looked poor. There are still two weeks left, and one of them could get hot, but I was wondering if Adam Miller could get a call?

I know Miller has a blister and is behind in his throwing schedule, but when will the Tribe need a fifth starter? Perhaps he could be ready by then? It is a shame he has been hurt. He had a great spring a year ago and could(should?) have made the club.

What do you guys think? You know more than I do.

There is a nice article on Travis Snider in today's Seattle Times. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2003792275_snider17.html

I was wondering what was going with him, as he had sat for several games. I like him as a prospect, think he has a good head on his shoulders and will be a solid .280+, 30+HR guy in Toronto. Not sure where he will play in the field, but I think he is one of the AL's top 15 prospects.

I also like watching him and Lars Anderson develop at the same time, as I think they will both be mashers in the AL and are roughly the same age.

Top systems

Since it has been mid-season everyone is re-evaluating prospects and determining the new top 40 lists and what not, but since the draft is over, and we have mid-season numbers, I am wondering if teams' have risen or fallen or stayed static.

I still think Tampa has the best system, but I think Masterson, Buchholz, Lowrie, and Kalish have boosted the Boston system overall. I also think with the development of so many pitchers, the Yankees have taken a big leap.

KC, because of Butler's promotion and Hochevar's struggles, have fallen, as has Milwaukee with Braun and Gallardo up.

Anyone else see organizations climbing or falling overall with the draft and half a season in?

Adenhart

Nick Adenhart went 8 innings, gave up 3 runs, and scattered 10 hits last night, while striking out 4. He did not walk a batter.

Last year Adnehart was one of the most talked about up-and-coming pitching prospects, but lately, he has been off of everyone's radar. What gives? Is he no longer a top prospect? Is he still considered a prospect, or is he just not the flavor-of-the-month anymore and Joba, Clay, Homer, and Gallardo are the new "in" clique?

I have been wanting to track Chamberlin's stats this year, but he is not active on the Tampa Yankees roster. Does anyone have any info on why not? Are they planning to start him in Tampa, or perhaps a different league?

He is an intriguing prospect with a great arm. I am wondering if he will be a right handed Sid Fernandez, or Rick Reushel, or if he will become an injury plagued pitcher.

Thanks for any input.

-Checo

Garko vs Francisco

The battle for the last spot on the Indians opening day roster appears to be between Ryan Garko and Ben Francisco. Who do you think will get it, and why?

Personally, I think Garko should get it. His bat is impressive and he did well in a limited role last year. Granted, his defense around first base has been spotty, but I am not sure if Victor Martinez, or Travis Hafner's is much better, if they even consider putting Pronk over there. I just think Garko's bat is too good to send down, unless they want him to play every day in Buffalo.

Nixon, Delluci, Michaels and Blake all seem assured of corner spots. How is Francisco going to be used? Maybe the Tribe are looking to deal one or both of these guys though and are showcasing them?

What do you think?

Which of these two young players do you think will have the better overall careeer? I am in an AL dynasty league and can only keep 7 players. I'm probably keeping Vlad, Granderson, Glaus, Harden, Haren, Craig Hansen. I have Alex Gordon in my minors system and see him long term over Glaus. SS is tough to fill but is Peralta going to be worth carrying over year to year? I have been impressed with Kubel and think he will get better. Kubel could hold down my LF spot for years, just like Jhonny would at SS. What say you?
