Arrowhead Pride To Be or Not to Be

Before I say anything else, let's get one thing out of the way: I am a Cassel supporter. I have been since the day he came to Kansas City from the Patriots and despite some ups and downs the past few seasons, my support has actually grown instead of diminished.

I make this clear because the honest-to-God truth is that there are many times I wish I wasn't such a believer in the guy. The tide has turned on Cassel since the end of his 2010 season, and to have to constantly defend a belief in a player that most have given up on can get tiresome. It would be a relief to be able to listen to some of his detractors' arguments (some of which are valid points but which I sincerely believe have equally good counter points), say to myself, "Yep, now that I look at it that way I can admit I was wrong." I wouldn't have to be one of those few left wandering the streets to be viewed as a madman for supporting a QB that's so "awful" (and believe me - or ask others on here who also have faith in Matt - we really are looked at as though we've got some contagious mental illness).

But I can't say that, because I don't believe it. And I can't join the opinion of the masses simply for the sake of not wanting to be a dissenting thought. So I'm stuck - and all I can do is wait. Whether it be this season or three from now, for the greatness I see Cassel capable of in the right circumstances to either come to pass and validate my faith, or for him to crash miserably into the earth and prove how wrong I've been the entire time.

I am confident in the former coming to pass rather than the latter, and while this post is truly not meant to spark animosity, argument, or yet another Cassel debate, I did want to make clear where I stand and a simple reasoning for why.

I've rambled all of this in order to lead up to an article I read by Adam Teicher today - one many of you, especially those that receive the Kansas City Star, have likely already read. It's a story on Ryan Lilja which I think is worth everyone reading - whether you are for or against our current starting quarterback.

As I said, I am not trying to incite anything, nor am I using this article as some sort of proof. I will say that radio personalities, journalists, bloggers, and fans can say whatever they want about any player. While we would like to think that all opinions are equal, in truth they are not. There is a pecking order. And the closer the one holding that opinion is to the person under discussion, the more validity that opinion should be given.

Ryan Lilja is honestly about as close as one can get to the source and anyone who has read this far and plans to read the article itself would be doing themselves a huge injustice not to give a large amount of weight to the thoughts of someone so well respected - both in KC as well as the entire NFL - who works so closely with the object of our debates.

And in the end, if his words are taken as truth, I also think Kansas City as a group of people owe our quarterback a lot more respect. To work as hard as he does, to know his potential is far greater than what he is given credit for and to hear, see and read nothing but negativity from the entire fanbase he is playing for...

Kansas City has always been known for its fans. As one of those fans I think we owe it not only to our quarterback, but to our legacy of fandom to treat the man better.

I apologize for the length of this. This actually started out as a Fanshot and then had to be copy/pasted over to the Posts. The article can be found HERE.

A picture my brother drew quite some time ago. What makes it even more awesome is all the faces in the crowd - some that are friends of his, but even more that are fun. Can you find Waldo? Or Mario? Thought with Misery going out in the first round and us in the Final Four, it was an appropriate time to post it.

A Sincere Thank You

I created a fanpost the day before the Chiefs/Raiders game requesting via a poll whether or not I should place $50.00 wager on KC to win the west and promised to go by the results of the poll. I placed the bet and lost. Oh well. But I want to thank those that voted, ESPECIALLY those that gave the go ahead. There were SO MANY plays in that KC game that, had any one of them happened differently, I would be one game away from making $750.00. KC shot themselves in the foot, but with Detroit and Buffalo demolishing our rivals, you "yes" voters nearly helped me to do something great. So - THANK YOU. Can't wait till next year. GO CHIEFS!!!

Arrowhead Pride A Wagering Question

So, I've never really put money on anything other than roulette and blackjack - and that only a handful of times. Bovada (previously Bodog) is offering 15x the wagered money if KC can win the AFC West. I'm completely torn on what to do here. I would be betting gifted money, and only $50.00, but as I'm not exactly well off, I'm a bit nervous. I believe we should win out, and that Buffalo can defeat Denver (geez, that's the scariest part). I also believe there is a definite chance the Chargers lose one of their next two games - likely tomorrow's.

But I can't make up my mind. Turning $50 into $750 would be awesome - especially for something that I believe to be a real possibility. But, again, for some reason, I can't come to a decision on what to do. So I would greatly appreciate the help of AP here.

I have decided to leave what I will do up to a poll. If you're reading this, please vote. I will go with the majority consensus as it appears by 10 am tomorrow.

Thank you all in advance.

Buffalo leads the charge for KC's chance to win our division. You guys have an entire KINGDOM of fans behind you this week. This was just a picture I put together symbolizing the playoff scenario for KC - Lions devouring the Bolts, Raiders getting their head severed by us, Buffalo trampling the Donkeys, followed by us putting the final arrow through their heart.

I share it here simply because I thought you might enjoy it.

Go Bills, and Go Chiefs!!!

Interesting comment by Weis

Was just listening to the Weis Press Conference from yesterday. I haven't seen this statement spoken on, but found it interesting since there are obvious worries about the fact that he hasn't stayed anywhere for long recently... "The best part for the Weis family now is that we see the end of the rainbow. We see how we're going to be here at the University of Kansas until I'm done coaching, and then I'm going to be retiring with my wife and my daughter, while my son tries the trials and tribulations of coaching."

It seems like nearly everyday recently new accusations keep popping up about the deviant sexual behavior of perverted college coaches. I'm just wondering if these two might be involved somewhere.

DENVER VS. SAN DIEGO

I'm really torn on what I think is the best outcome for this Bolts/Donkeys game. On the one hand, Denver is one game ahead of us already, so it seems natural that they need to lose. However, on the other hand, I believe that as teams watch more tape on the college style offense and Tebow's ability to run, the Donks magic rise in the AFC West rankings will come to a screeching halt - so keeping San Diego another game down could be more beneficial for us in the long run. I obviously can't root for either of these teams to WIN - but who should we be rooting for to LOSE? Thoughts? Opinions?

A video created by bfett81, aka ChiefsGo81, aka Red Tribe Cinema, aka perhaps the biggest "Cassel Sucks/Suck For Luck" Champion on the World Wide Web. This was posted to Youtube shortly before the season...

For anyone that wants a video NOT slamming the Chiefs... I wanted it to be longer, but it is what it is. Had to decide between taking several days on it or rushing it a bit and making sure it was done prior to kickoff.

I chose the latter.

GO CHIEFS!!!

Arrowhead Pride Is There A Lawyer In The House?

(This should probably be a fanshot, but as I don't usually post fanshots, I was a bit confused as to what category - quote, link, chat, etc., - to use or how to do so.  ...I know, my ignorance is showing...)

Is there possibly a member here on AP that also happens to be a lawyer?  I have some questions regarding the Fair Use Act as pertains to a couple of specific Chiefs videos I created and posted on youtube which have just been removed due to the NFL claiming copyright infringement.

I am in no position to afford legal advice and thus hoped some kind, Chiefs fan soul in the legal field might be willing to help me weigh my options.  I am aware that the NFL is a "copyright jerk" (a term I've found several times in perusing the internet for help, but it also seems the videos in question could very well fall under 'Fair Use').

Perhaps I shouldn't really care, but they happen to be a couple of my favorite videos - even if they were my earliest ones.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated....

Silver And Black Pride Arrowhead Is Back

I am not posting this to talk trash, as there is no trash talk included in the video.  I am posting it here simply because I'm excited about the return of Football and the Chiefs after the maddening bull that was the NFL lockout.  I don't think I've ever managed to post anything here without being attacked, haha, but that's to be expected, I guess. We DO have one of the most heated rivalries in the NFL - and by far the most ancient in the AFL.

ANYWAY....

After months of waiting, after the frustration and anger of the lockout, after many Sunday afternoons spent staring blankly at the television with a deep sense of loss eating away at us... Arrowhead is back! This is our year.

Arrowhead Pride ARROWHEAD IS BACK

After months of waiting, after the frustration and anger of the lockout, after many Sunday afternoons spent staring blankly at the television with a deep sense of loss eating away at us... Arrowhead is back! The Chiefs are in St. Joe, the ads for ticket sales are everywhere, and the schedule we've all been going over with the cliched fine tooth comb is actually going to be played.

2011.  This is our time. GO CHIEFS!!!

Somebody has probably already posted something on this, but as I don't see it in recent fanshots, thought I'd put it up. It's about time something began happening to change the greedy methods of the BCS....

Arrowhead Pride An AFC Optical Illusion

This is an optical illusion I created just for the hell of it.  Google is a fun thing, and with the use of After Effects I have been able to create something that really relates something, even if for only a matter of nanoseconds.

What follows is nothing amazing but I believe, in some way, this simple illusion actually DOES relate to football.  And not only to football, but to the Chiefs themselves.

I don't know how else to explain it.  The illusion relies on the simplest of peripheral vision and changing audio (so do make sure you can see and hear well), but in the end somehow makes a point abut our Chiefs.
