The Dream Shake Poll Question from the noob

Too many times, management, coaches, even players have claimed "this is a successful season even though we got knocked out of the 1st, 2nd or Conf. Finals."

The question remains, if a team advances in the 1st-Conf Finals, but loses deeper in the playoffs- how are they expected to make a run the following year?  Any thoughts, ideas would be appreciated.

It seems to me that each season is indirectly related to the previous seasons "achievements". When the Rox went on a 22-game firing spree, they were the fav's to take out Utah, but we know how that ended - unfortunately.

Good to meet you guys and thanks for reading.

Poll
Do you think that if a team (ie. The Rox) make it to the second round and lose - is that still classified as a successful season when the ultimate goal is a championship? Thoughts please.
