Instead of watching the Rockies tonight I felt like I needed to be reminded why I watch and love the game of baseball so much. I watched Field of Dreams and by the end I was in tears, and I don't cry at movies that often. I was surprised about all the memories that came back of playing catch with my Dad and going to games with him when I was young. My Dad and I don't get along on too many things but baseball has always been a common ground that we could bond over. I know that there are a lot of issues with our team right now, but tonight really helped me to see that Baseball has been so ingrained into my life that it won't matter (too much) if the Rox are not the greatest team. What will matter is that I will still get the chance to cheer, complain, and root for my team along with my Dad. So the next time you feel like you are getting burned by the Rox I suggests popping in a copy of the classic "it will remind you of all that was once good". Sorry if this seemed a little emotional I felt like I just had to write something about it.

Hey

I was looking on the Braves SB Talking Chop site today and they have a pretty cool competiion (here). It relates to people making predictions on game threads before the game . It is really up to the site managers so Russ and others what do you think about such thing happening here. If it's too much trouble to run something like that I understand. I think it could encourage further involvement in the game threads during the season.

Tracy Ringolsby wrote an article in the Rocky Mountain News about the Cardnials seriously chasing after Matt Holliday. He notes that Ryan Ludwick could be part of a package deal with the possiblity of some young prospects. Do you guys think there is any suitable trade that could happen between the Cards and the Roxs? Personally I just don't feel like the Cardnials have any suitable arms to throw in to make it worth it.
