Need someone with Parking Pass

to step up to the plate and agree to hosting a BSD tailgate.  I am willing to throw $20-$50 bucks in a hat if we can find a host and want to cook also.  Also would be nice to see if we could get a list of peeps that would attend and try to get organized in some way.  I unfortunately do not drive so will be cabbing and metro'ing it everywhere.

Rockin is attending with 1 guest (my daughter). my email is : lvw10@psu.edu

Leftover tickets

Not confirmed but a friend of mine bought her tickets 5 minutes before closing and was told there were several hundred left over. According to gopsusports.com this means they should be going on sale to the general public on monday. The site has not updated its info yet to confirm this but I think its worth checking out if you still need tickets. I did buy 2 tickets which I will hold onto until Tuesday to see how everyone makes out. I need to figure out some way to fairly disperse these. Suggestions? length of membership in BSD? Highest amount of BSD posts? First come first serve? Best Zug haiku? Which do all of you think?

My Opinion of Maurice Evans

After his much publicized incident at the beginning of the season, I must say so far so good.  He lost his starting job and still has not got it back.....although it is quite possible that he lost it for good to Mayhem.  I have heard no blame game, no whining, no news at all as a matter of fact.  This to me shows Evans maturity.  He has matured and I feel will be one of the leaders of the team next year.  Hopefully my judgement is not wrong.  I can't believe that Bradley would not have Maybin and Evans on opposite sides of the line at the same time next year.  They will be playing pinball all game long on the opposing offenses.

We need a t-shirt design

Staff we need a t-shirt design for our Rose Bowl trip.  Sounds like several of us are going to be there and we are going to try to at least tailgate/socialize before the game.  Would be cool, if we had enough interest, to all be wearing our Official BSD Rose Bowl t-shirts.  Please give us something fairly quickly so we would have time to get them made if there is enough interest in this. Personally I'm willing to fork out a generous amount of change depending on the quality of the shirt.  Although I think we could get decent white or blue shirts with the opposite for the art work.  That would be cheapest with one color of ink on a solid color shirt.  I figure the lower the price the more interest there will be in purchasing them if we could get this.

Student tickets ?

Anyone know if you will need to use student ID to get into the Rose Bowl if I buy student tickets?  I already have a set of tickets arranged with the Rose Bowl package but am thinking that If I buy a set of student tickets for $145 each I can bring them out with me for a BSD'er to purchase at face value.  But if they ask for student ID at the door the way do at Beaver Stadium I am just basically wasting my money.  This is assuming I can even get tickets since there aren't that many available.

I will be at the Rose Bowl

Trying to get a list together of people that will definately be the Rose Bowl.  Let's get a BSD party going some night.  I am arriving at LAX at 4:50pm on Tues. 30th and leaving Saturday 1/3.  I will be with my 18 year old (hot) daughter who I feel no qualms about abandoning for an evening of BSD partying.   Is anyone planning on tailgating? Where would be a good place and time for us all to get together?  Mighty Erik who is a local would probably be our best point man.

I hate myself but I am already looking forward to next year!

So before I get flamed let me say I know this season is not done yet.  I am hoping that I can talk my daughter into going to the Rose Bowl with me since I need a driver. She is not a fan (I don't know how I failed in parenthood there) but here's hoping she can't resist a free trip to a warmer climate. But I just can't help not being excited about next year already.

Couple things I was thinking about

Joe is coming back.  Hell as good as medicine is becoming he may coach till he is 90 or older.  Hopefully his next innovation to the game will be to convince everyone to get a playoff started.  Maybe he and Obama can work on it together.

Sean Lee will be back.  I think his injury making him become a coach will make him just that much better.  I have always said that teaching or training someone is the best way to learn yourself.  Laurinitis will still probably have more tackles than him in college ball next year but some things are just baffling.

Maurice Evans will be back.  At the beginning of the year we probably all thought that he would be gone to the draft after this year.  What are the chances of Maybin and Evans both being on the field at the same time?

Bowman is a total BEAST!  Will be curious to see what next years LB set up is: Bowman, Lee, Hull?  Bowman, Lee, Stupar?  Personally I think that Paterno will go with Hull just because of his experience.  If Hull can get it together and play both halfs he can be good.  Stupar has definately earned some starter consideration with his outstanding special teams play.

Ogbu and Koromo will be back to make the Defensive Line great again.

Daryll Clark definately seems to be back to form and has put the concussion and any confidence problems behind him.

Evan Royster.  I can still visualize him breaking out of the middle of the pile in that one game where he was totally buried and then popped out and took off for the TD. Stephon Green can only continue to improve.  I like seeing him catch the ball and just taking off.  With wideout being weaker next year I can see Royster and Green getting the ball a lot more. Here is me cheering for Royster for Heisman already.

TE should be good no matter whether we go with Quarless or Szczerba.

Offensive Line will be a little weaker with losing so many seniors although Wisniewski will be back and a lot of the younger players got significant playing time.

The areas that scare me are CB's and Safeties.  Astorino looked good but beyond him none of the substitutes really stood out to me.  Here is hoping that the new starters will play with a lot of passion.

Wideout i'm not sure about.  Zug seems to be a nice target that Clark is comfortable going to.  Beyond him nobody seems to really stand out.  What happened to Chaz Powell?

So anyway sorry if I pissed anyone off  by jumping to next year already.  I need something to think about besides the BCS while I am waiting to see who we play in the Rose Bowl

Rumor mill

So I am on my 3rd bar of the night & have heard this same rumor at each bar. "the blue band is not playing @ half time & Joe will be giving his retirement speech." Personally I don't believe it; but I will definately be very happy to see the band lining up at the end of the second quarter. If the band doesn't come out I will be scared. Someone w/ insider info please reassure me.

Help I'm so confused

The computer polls are confusing the hell out of me.  I understand that they are based on Strength of Schedule and such but what I don't understand is the Colley Matrix and Peter Wolfe polls still having Texas ahead of Texas Tech.  Don't these polls also take into account head to head matchups?

Team AH RB CM KM JS PW
1. Alabama 25 22 24 23 24 25
2. Texas Tech 24 25 21 25 25 22
3. Penn State 23 24 22 22 22 23
4. Texas 22 23 25 24 23 24
5. Florida 20 20 23 21 19 20
6. Oklahoma 19 19 20 20 20 21
7. Southern California 15 21 17 17 15 17
8. Utah 21 15 19 19 21 18
9. Oklahoma State 17 14 14 15 16 14
10. Boise State 18 16 18 16 18 19

What am I missing?  Someone please help me understand what I see as a flaw in these polls.  Is this just bad programming?
