Whew that's gonna be a helluva tandem. Sam has all the intangibles just like Tim, and obviously better pure pocket skills. This can't fail, can it?

Mile High Report More stuff about our QB's work ethic

This time from his roommate Decker.  I saw this on yahoo fantasy football because I'm starting Tebow this week.

I wanted to just do a fanshot but wasn't sure how to link it.

"QB Tim Tebow does almost everything with a focus on getting better. Training camp roommate Eric Decker can attest. He said Tebow even studied his playbook at night in a hyperbaric chamber as a way to physically recover from the daily rigors of camp. But the work ethic wasn't confined to the chamber set up in their shared hotel room. "He's always in the weight room, always doing something after practice, before meetings and what not. He's always doing extra stuff," Decker said, adding that Tebow would arrive at the last moment for meetings huffing and puffing from speed work and fundamentals drills. "That drive he has is pretty remarkable because it's a long season, days get long, but he comes to work every day with energy every day. That's something that's really stood out to me.""

Here's a clip I found by googling "Laurence Maroney". I noticed Gaffney's in the video, meaning McD was around. Opponents? JAX. Coincidence or no? In any case, Denver should be very glad to have him at such a cheap cost. As the vid shows, he can be good, very good.

When I first heard about this, I remember thinking "OMG whoever asked that's a COMPLETE douchebag and a moron." Thankfully it wasn't McX... Has anyone had to deal with more crap during the draft process than Dez in recent years?

So far, we've turned Cutler, Marshall, a 5th rounder (turned into Knox), whoever the Ravens take tomorrow in the 4th, and Sheffler (plus the 7th sent with him) into Orton, Ayers (Bears pick), Richard Quinn (Bears 3rd turned into a 2nd from Pitt), Thomas (Philly's pick via SF and CHI), Tebow (Dolphins), Decker (Philly), whoever we take in the 5th tomorrow, and whoever we take in the 2nd next year.

Is this the right breakdown? It's 6 players into 8 or something close to this. Not bad at all. Man that's a lot of trades.

That's better than most cornerbacks, running backs and receivers btw. The key thing is that we've got a guy who can move!

This is a pretty sweet youtube channel. It has various Broncos related interviews. Definitely worth checking out.

And the Chiefs used their past three first rounders on LSU players. Hehehe

He says teams think he's a weakside mike. We need one of those... Looks like he can cover like a safety. No wonder he loves Dawkins. I would love to have him on the team. I think he brings a Dawk like love for the game to a spot on our team that really needs the skills he brings right away.

Does anyone have a list of all the prospects we've had in for workouts and/or interviews? Seems we've had a lot of running backs in, and they're all of different styles.

Mile High Report We're getting some serious MSM love now...kinda

Bill Simmons is completely on the Broncos bandwagon.  He was praising them quite a bit in his picks podcast today.  He probably has one of the largest fanbases amongst sports writers working today, so it's most likely not going to be long until the MSM takes headline.  I predict once we're 4-0 some writers may start eating their words.  Not Clayton tho.    Obviously.  He'll just say it's McD's fault.

Mile High Report One thing I hate about football

This is a quasi-rant.

It is by far and away, the professional sport with the highest frequency of commercial breaks.  I mean, it is endless man.  Here's how I see it if a list was to be made ranking sports and commercial breaks:

1) Football

2) Nothing even comes close to football so there is no #2

3) Baseball

4) Hockey

5) Basketball

6) Golf

7) Tennis

8) Soccer

Never enjoyed tennis and soccer until I got into Adbusters and came to loathe commercials.  Those two sports are thoroughly enjoyable to watch if only because it doesn't cut to commercials every 5 minutes.  This is also why it's so awesome when an offense undergoes a long drive.  Can't stand 3 and outs.

Thoughts?

Mile High Report For the third time this offseason, an O-Coordinator fired

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4446060

The Bills fired Turk Schonert.  So it's now KC, Tampa, and Buffalo that's fired their offensive coordinators.  Has even one coordinator ever been fired in the preseason before?

I guess the league is becoming even more "what have you done for me lately".

Does anyone think that once Gailey was fired, it gave Tampa and Buffalo the precedent to be able to fire their coordinators?  Would this have happened if Gailey wasn't fired?  I guess what I'm asking is whether KC broke what Malcolm Gladwell would call "The Tipping Point".

Mile High Report Your top 3 all time favorite classy athletes

So in light of the fact that we've had to deal with two major headcases this off season/pre season, I figured it'd be fun to discuss - perhaps nostalgically - our top 3 favorite athletes who are class acts on and off the field/rink/court/diamond/pitch/etc...

My 3:

1) Steve Yzerman - most of you here are probably Avs fans, but you gotta admit, Stevie Y was an absolute class act on top of being an absolutely BEASTLY hockey player.  Fell in love with his slap shot as a kid, grew to respect and appreciate him as time went on due to his classiness.

2) Rod Smith - no real explanation needed here.  Hopefully B-Marsh can actually make good of his time spent with RS now.

3) Georges St. Pierre - Such a mile high difference between him and Brock Lesnar.  All the talent in the world, but remains humble to the core.  Never really heard him talk trash or diss his opponents in any way shape or form since I started following UFC.

Would love to hear y'all thoughts!
