Baseball fan since I was about 5 - my dad played college and minor league ball - I can remember listening to Harry Caray and the Cardinials on the radio. Grew up in KC, so I was an A's fan - ugghhhhhh..

Luckily, the Royals came along and George Brett - now, I have my own team - the ROX!!! Original season ticket holder (actually had minor league season tix).

Other sports - KSU football, hoops, Avalanche, and USA Soccer.

Love hiking 14ers, but those old football knees are telling me to cut back.. :(

Other interests - reading, movies, local music (DEVOTCHKA!!) and my grandkids - we had 9 people, three generations from 4 to 69 at the 6/17 game for my birthday - ROX WIN!!!

Favorite Rox player of all time - either the big cat or Vinnie. Tulo coming up fast though.

a fan of

Purple Row Cliff Lee's last 7 starts

highly erratic, to say the least....

         IP     Hits    ER    W     K

         5.2    7        3       1     6

         6.0    9        7        0     6

          4.0    5        1         1     2

          9.0    6       0          3     9

           7      10      4         0      3

           3      9        6         0      3

           5      10     6         0      5

Tot.    35.2  56   27      5       34

ERA = 6.81

56 hits in 35.2 innings

His control and strikeouts have remained good - I guess that says - hit the first pitch that looks good, because apparently he is throwing meatballs.

One good start -- one not too bad, but they pulled him after 4 innnings.

The other 5 - HORRIBLE.

Purple Row My John Kruk Story

but the john kruk stuff is so far down the page in the rockpile, i figured this would be the only way anyone sees it.

1993, phils are just battering the rox in mile hi (they had some serious hitters!!).

I'm sitting right behind the third base dugout...

Fat boy on 1st, two outs, 3-2 count..

Darren Daulton Batting, if I remember correctly...

you've got it - long foul ball down the line....

Kruk takes off - chugs nearly to third before he realizes it's foul..

Waddles across the diamond back to first...

Next pitch - another long foul ball...

Kruk chugs around second again....

Next pitch - I KID YOU NOT..

another long foul ball - kruk isn't exactly chugging now, but this one is close to fair, so he has to go all the way to third....

FOUL BALL!!!

Kruk stops, bends over, hands on his knees...

third base coach comes over, talks to him..

third base coach calls time out...

The entire section behind third erupts, Kruk is taking a load of crap....

Finally, he goes back to first, and Daulton makes an out.

One more time might have finished him, or maybe, even better, they'd have pinch run for him!!!

Hmmm, maybe this is why he dislikes us???

Purple Row Fresh worries for the week

The weather - ugggh, forecast in Denver is awful the next few days, 50 degrees, rain...

Injuries, postponed games, make up games, messed up rotation.  We don't need any of this as we come down the stretch.

Also, the braves schedule is absurdly easy - they could finish with a LOT of wins in the last 3 weeks.  10-2, something like that.  They might even - GASP - go Rocktember.....

There is one easy solution.....

JUST WIN ROX!!!

Purple Row Projected Tulo Stats

He's currently at 276/361/530 = 891 OPS

Roughly, I'd say he finishes at 285/380/570 = 950 OPS

Raw numbers

Hr 21, RBI 60, Runs 66

Straight projection on those = 29, 87,95

Given his STRONG uptrend since June 1, I'll say 34, 100+, 110+

gold glove shortstop with amazing range...

oh, he won't be 25 til october!!

we're going to love watching TULO for years and years and years...

did i mention, he has a GREAT attitude??

Purple Row 24 of the next 33 at home

No time for slacking, we need to put the hammer down at home - and i don't mean .600 - we need something like 18-6 @ home.

I don't have time to pull our our home record since Tracy took over - I know it started slow, then picked up - if anyone has that handy, i'd love to see it.

Big Crowds this weekend - the Rox need to put those little furry creatures and their fake TV fans where they belong - at the bar of the Billy Goat Tavern, drowning their sorrows...

Purple Row Fired Up for tonight's game...

I hope Jorge (Hip Hip) de la Roooooosa is more calm than I am.  He's been super for us over the last two months, but they will be loud in Philly, and one little pop fly that turns into a HR could upset anyone.

Time for TULO to come through tonight with a jack or tu!!

By the Way, when do the Player of the Month awards come out - Jorge has got to be in the mix for pitcher of the month - 5 starts, 5 wins - what more can you do.
