Prospect Tube
Has anyone checked out Prospect Tube yet? It's a collecting site for minor league player videos. I think it's fairly new, but is building steam very quickly.
For example, here's some video of Jhoulys Chacin. You'll notice some other Rockies prospects videos also easily accessible.
Just beware, that since individuals are posting them, there's no common identifiers for the videos, so a Search on "Rockies" or "Colorado" for example, may not get you all the Rockies prospects.
It's great stuff.

Rockies Fest - Jan. 24th
I hadn't heard anyone mention anything about this, so maybe they aren't publicizing it very highly. It may be that invites are only going to season ticket holders.
Jimmy "Ballgame" in left?
Let's say that Holliday gets traded this offseason, as many expect to happen, what's your thoughts on the Rockies signing Jim Edmonds to a one or two year deal. I know he's injury prone, and clearly on the downswing of his career, but they wouldn't need him to play everyday.
The guy has absolutely crushed the ball here throughout his career. My calculations for his career Coors field numbers, in 120 plate appearances: .316/.425/.724. That's an OPS of 1.149.
I've got to imagine that he could be had for less than $5 million/year. His wheels most likely aren't good enough to man center at Coors, but I think he'd do fine in left. A platoon with Spillborghs, Fowler, Smith and Edmonds could be pretty effective between LF and CF. I guess the downside would be one more left-handed bat to factor into the mix.
Thoughts?

Reynolds goes on DL
This is not good news. He goes on the DL with a shoulder impingement
http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/jul/26/rockies-reynolds-dl/
First an arthroscopic "clean-up" last year and now this. You never want to see a pitcher starting his first couple seasons in the organization with repeat shoulder issues, especially, when he's the #2 overall pick in the draft.
And to think, Tim Lincecum was there for the taking.

Major Deal w/ Cards in the works?
I don't know the likelyhood of this, but may be fun to discuss.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/41107-cardinals-and-rockies-potential-trade-partners
The Rox would be getting some decent prospects. Anderson could easily be flipped elsewhere for decent value. And if they could get McClellan, he would be rotation ready by next year. Yet, I have a hard time believing that the Cards would part with two of their top pitching prospects, especially McClellan, who they've been grooming in the pen this year.
Plus Reyes just went a different direction, and I don't understand why the Rockies would have any interest in Shane Robinson.

05 Draft Class
Again, I hope people don't mind me sharing, as I catch up. I'm sure many who read this blog have followed some of these players for some time now. That's part of the reason for the posts. I actually am interested to hear others thoughts and opinions on these players. It will help to expand on what I am finding mainly in stats.
With the #7 pick In the 2005 MLB draft, the Colorado Rockies select Troy Tulowitzki.

What's on the Farm? '04 Draft Class
I decided some time ago that I wanted to get to know the Rockies farm system better. I'm really enjoying the research, and I thought others might enjoy seeing what I find. Please feel free to give your comments and initiate discussion (or just tell me to "go away").
With Chris Iannetta having a breakout year and Dexter Fowler expected to be patrolling center for the Rockies possibly in the next year, why not start with the 2004 first-year player draft. (All stats are through 7/23/08)
