Born and raised a half hour from Happy Valley in the same year JoePa took the boys to a stunning upset of Miami and a 2nd national title. So I was destined to attend PSU and inherit all that comes with being die hard, blue bleeding nittany lion.
The Phillies are also a passion of mine. Right up there with dear old state. Also a fan of Vikings football, Knicks B-Ball, Flyers Hockey and Mixed Martial Arts.
Also, Minor League baseball might be the most underrated thing in history. Cheap seats, small town teams, summer time, slightly less expensive beer, odd promotions and giveaways, the whole bit. I'm a sucker for the poetry-esque-ness of baseball and the foaming-at-the-mouth patriotism of college football.
Also, if you don't appreciate MMA, give it a shot. Trust me, you won't regret it.

PSU great Phil Davis signs contract with the UFC.
For those of you not in the know, after Phil won a national title and graduated, he began a mixed martial arts career. He is 4-0 professionally; all wins coming in devastating fashion. He also won gold at the brazilian jiu jitsu world championships.
In just about 2 years he has signed with the best MMA promotion out there, pretty impressive stuff.
There is no date announced yet for his first UFC fight.

It should be a good challenge. They're a good, sound defense. They play a heck of a game.

Gators Star gets a rough sounding DUI
Over/Under on quarters he gets suspended for by Earvin Myers?
I'd set the bar at 1 and take the under.

The lesson Meyer delivered: Nothing, not even thuggish behavior, will be allowed to substantively interfere with our pursuit of a repeat national title.
- From Pat Forde, who happens to be one of the biggest doucheas at the douchea leader in sports. I can't believe he actually said something I agree with.

Hull up for Campell Award (Formerly the Draddy Trophy)
This is the so-called "academic hiesman." I think this would be an incredible thing for one of student athletes to achieve, plus I really dig that he is an engineering student.

My 2 Abraham Lincolns
Well, I am still numb as I am sure a lot of you are. I by NO means expected a blow out, but a workman like win is what I thought would happen. Good job Iowa. Gradulations. You dirty dirty corn farming hill people. You earned it. I wish I didn't hate you as much as I do. I hope some day down the road we can be friends and laugh about this.
If any NFL scouts want to know what Sean Lee is worth, or how good he is, watch this game. You can tell almost more by his absence than by his play.
I wish Jay never said the words "Spread HD." Now I have to put up with endless retarded puns about being stuck in "SD". Hardy Har Har.
I so badly want a Houston-Boise St national title game. More than I want anything else in the world. I obviously know this will never ever ever ever ever happen. A boy can dream can't he.
STFU about Tim Tebow. Please. He wasn't the first, he won't be last golden boy. Get over it. He is a very very good college football player. I just want a picture to arise of him at a party with a beer in one hand and a nude co-ed in the other. Can you imagine the headlines? TEBOW INDULGES IN SINS OF THE FLESH; TIME FOR THE RAPTURE IS NIGH!
I still do not think this is an awful team. I just am not overly impressed by anyone in league besides Iowa, and maybe tOSU; everyone else on the slate still has question marks like us. Last year, we held it together after losing to Iowa. Clark responded by killing it the rest of the way. Lets pray he does that again this year.
At least Stanzi didn't torch us? I know its largely because he didn't have too, due to very gracious field position, but he did have 2 picks and no TD passes so, yay for that? Our secondary isn't even a third as bad as our Oline. I mean they aren't great either, but we rarely have a GREAT secondary anyways right?
I like so many of you need to remind myself that it is just a game. Just one game out of many. Losing hurts so freaking badly. It hurts way more than winning feels good. However, I have more pressing issues to worry about than this. This loss will hurt much less if Iowa wins the league and wins its bowl. I still have grand hopes of us pulling it out, maybe we can have one of those great co-championships that tOSU is so fond of?
I am currently watching "The Waterboy." It is at the scene where they play Iowa and win. It is making me laugh and feel slightly better. Now its the scene where UM uses their towel-boy at wideout. I think Gerg might try that only at DB.
I just don't want everything to be doom and gloom around here for the nest week or longer. I still want happiness and optimism. Cautious optimism, yes. Lets turn our focus on putting up 63 on Illinois MRob style.
Writing this was somewhat therapeutic for me. Thank you for withstanding my rambles. I have already moved on through writing this and can laugh and be merry again. Don't let this eat at you, it isn't worth. Although, I'd suggest avoiding BHGP for awhile.
Oh, and Rambler., I prefer my crow deep fried and wrapped in bacon.

"Washington wasn't the better team. They just outplayed us,"
-Joe McKnight, USC
I see these quotes by guys across the country. Whatever happened to "gradulations to them, they did the things we didn't and won" or "no comment" Just because you are better on paper doesn't give you a W, you have to play for it. So, if you get out-played, you lose.

"We should have beat them by two or three touchdowns. Easy, man,"

Just maybe a little over-confident for someone who has proven almost nothing on the field and has won ZERO big games. Grow up, I hope you succeed at somepoint so I don't feel foolish for once wanting you on my favorite team.
