I know what your best college memory is, but what’s your best pro memory? Flutie: "The NFL memory that kinda stands out was my first start in Buffalo. Well, we played Jacksonville in Buffalo and it was my first start in nine years because I’d gone to Canada for eight years and Jacksonville was undefeated at the time. We had a last-second drive, on fourth down, I ran a naked bootleg into the endzone for a touchdown and the celebration at the end of the game and then on the field… wow. My wife brought Dougie down to the sidelines, and I’m holding my son after the game, and I saw a picture of that, just really cool. Just a fun memory."

Wannstedt's (and Jimmy Johnson's) D Explained

This is the most detailed writing I've found on the Miami 4-3. It goes into great length about why and how it was put together down at The U and then how they adapted it for the NFL when they went to Dallas. Now, hopefully Wannstedt has adapted it to today's league.

Bronze: Carl Nicks, OG, Tampa Bay Buccaneers There was a long list of candidates for this last spot on the podium. The offensive and defensive line coaches that I spoke with were very high on Ravens guard Marshal Yanda. Another name that kept popping up was a bit of a sleeper on the national scene: Bills center Eric Wood. However, Nicks was given the nod because of his freakish size, strength and ability to protect the passer. He is impossible to penetrate in the pass game because he has quick feet, a strong base and excellent balance. He has dominant moments in the run game, displaying the strength and power to knock defenders off the ball. If not for a few mental lapses, Nicks would have a legitimate case to claim the top spot on this list.

The Bills’ release of Drayton Florence was as much about the team’s confidence in Aaron Williams as it was about the team’s confidence in Stephon Gilmore. Unless Gilmore totally fell on his face in camp, the plan all along was for him to be a day one starter. Williams, who was chosen with the 34th overall pick one year ago, has shown the Bills coaching staff enough for them to believe he could be ready to start as well.

A question about out blocking/coverage schemes...

I've been looking around the web to get any idea of what we've been doing in regards to this. When I'm watching the games, I'm so into them I don't have time to keep track. I guess I should start...

Do we need to go back to the Polian or AJ Smith trees for a GM?

Going through each teams' front office page (the ones that display backgrounds, at least!), I've noticed there are a few directors of player personnel and pro/college scouting left in the league...
