Bumped... It's still early yet. Paragon

In case you missed it USC vaulted Georgia and Ohio State in the AP poll to take #1 billing . SC jumped Georgia in the USA Today's Poll to take #1 as well. I know this is not CC's idea of letting the spotlight shine on someone else, but I think this is a good thing. We need to see how this SC performs under pressure, as if Sep. 13 wasn't pressure-packed already. Bring on the Buckeyes!!!

Note: UCLA also made it into the AP poll at #23 and missed the USA Today's poll by 1 point. They played a great game yesterday and we'll also see how they respond with a little pressure on them.

As reported by Scott Wolf, Emmanuel Moody transfered out of USC tonight (Wednesday on the west coast), possibly for Oklahoma State. Moody was the second leading rusher last season before being sidelined for the final 4 games with an ankle sprain.

I am not quite sure what to make out of this. There has obviously been a lot of transfer speculation regarding the running back position which is now down to 9 scholarship tailbacks: Chauncey Washington, Hershel Dennis, Desmond Reed, Stafon "the Prince" Johnson, Allen "the Beast" Bradford, C.J. Gable, Joe McKnight, Broderick Green and Marc Tyler. However, I am still a little suprised in light of Moody's comments from a recent article I read:

"When it comes game time, I know there's only going to be one person out there on the field. Just one guy, with just one football. And the other guys aren't going to be there, and that's where it's going to be chaos for the ones on the sidelines. If it's me there, then it's me."

Well obviously that won't be the case this season, although he will be waiting on the sidellines for a different team due to NCAA transfer rules. Maybe Moody felt the heat from the competition, or didn't think he would get meaningful reps with his injury (bruised knee), or maybe it is a combination of the two. Either way USC is still loaded at the position and should have more than enough talent to fill out the depth chart. I guess that in Moody's absence, guys like Gable and McKnight will get his carries. Well, I wish Moody the best and I'm anxious to see how the tailback position sorts itself out during training camp and throughout the season.

Fight On!!

UPDATE: For more information surrounding the transfer see this LA Times article.
