I am just an average joe looking to see the Lions make the Super Bowl in my lifetime. I've been waiting now for 63 years!! Actually, I'm really not old enough to have seen them in their last heyday with the likes of "Night Train Lane" ! However, I was privileged to be able to see in all his glory and magnificence, arguably the greates running back to ever play the game...the one and only Barry Sanders! What a great joy to watch him scurry across the field leaving would-be tacklers in his wake. There is now nor ever has been a more exciting player to watch, to anticipate whether he would break away each and every time he touched the ball!
I think, for the first time since I can remember, the Lions have a decent coaching staff and are actually on their way to respectability. The last two drafts with Delmas, Hill, Pettigrew, and this year with Suh, Best, and almost all of them seem to have potential. I cant wait to see Chimera from Canada play! I think he could be the sleeper of the ENTIRE draft! Anyway, they have also been picking up some good FA in KVB and CW. Tony Scheffler, the tight end will make the team. I can see them finishing 3rd or even 2nd place this year and a division title by 2012!
