I should warn everybody first that this parody is probably NC17 because of the language, but it's probably more accurate to how the characters really talk, so if you are adult enough to handle it and don't get offended very easily you will probably think this is great. KSK has created a funny parody of a conversation between Coach Haley and our new quarterback. (apparently Todd Haley is a new favorite target for KSK because of his abraisiveness).
This is getting pretty good.

Two of the top NFL information men in the business are engaged in a duel regarding the question of whether the Kansas City Chiefs are talking to former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan regarding the possibility of replacing former Chiefs coach Herm Edwards.

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the Chiefs and Shanahan are closing in on a deal.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reported on Thursday, and has reiterated today, that the Chiefs have made no contact with Shanahan.

“[U]nless people I have known for years are blatantly lying to me, Shanahan is not going to be the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs,” Schefter writes. “It is not happening. People can keep talking as if it is. But it is not. He will not be the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009.”

Jack Harry just reported tonight that his sources at Arrowhead have said that the Chiefs are 24 to 48 hours away from announcing Mike Shanahan as the new head coach. What do we think, can we get over him bieng on our sidelines after years of hating him with the Broncos? Is he any good as a head coach without John Elway? I'm sure that he'll be better just as the coach and not running the personel side of things.

From Pro Football Talk:

Miami Dolphins vice president of football operations Bill Parcells had been reticent about his status involving a lucrative escape clause in his contract that was triggered by the team’s change of ownership that became official Tuesday. However, Parcells broke his silence Tuesday when asked whether he plans to stay with the Dolphins and seemed to shoot down rumors that he’s considering leaving.

”What does it look like I’m doing?” Parcells told the Miami Herald and other South Florida reporters after a Senior Bowl practice in Mobile, Ala. ”What do your eyes tell you?”

When pressed on the issue of the 30-day deadline that would allow him to walk away with a sum of $12 million, Parcells repeatedly said that life can change quickly before adding: “We’ll see what happens. It’s not about the money. I’ve got more money than I can spend.”

The article notes that the 30-day clause would expire prior to the launch of free agency Feb. 27, and surmised that Parcells seemed to be hinting that it didn’t make sense for him to guarantee he was staying when there weren’t any tangible negative consequences created by leaving things open for the next month.

Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland said that he would be shocked if Parcells left.

”I know I’ll be the first person that he’ll tell when he decides what he’s doing,” Ireland said. “I’m not worried about that. I’m really not.”

After finishing his discussion with a small group of Dolphins beat writers, Parcells got into his Cadillac and drove away with Ireland and coach Tony Sparano.

Interesting that his answers are so vague that they really don't answer wether or not he is at the senior bowl for the Fins or for "some other team". I really want to read into his line that "It's not about the money. Ive got more money than I can spend." I would like to think it's about family to Parcells at this point in his career.

Gruden Fired!

Over at Pro Football Talk:
Posted by Mike Florio on January 16, 2009, 5:56 p.m. EST

The city that will be hosting the Super Bowl in 16 days suddenly is in the market for a new head coach.

According to Adam Schefter of NFLN, the Buccaneers have fired head coach Jon Gruden.

(Maybe, in hindsight, he should have taken the Tennessee job.)

There had been some quiet speculation that something could happen in Tampa, but with nearly three weeks since the last game Gruden had seemed safe.

The timing of the move makes us wonder whether the Bucs quietly have lined up a successor, with speculation sure to center on a guy who took two weeks off after unexpectedly being fired two weeks and three days ago, former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.

Such a move would violate the Rooney Rule, which requires at least one minority candidate to be interviewed for each head-coaching vacancy. But if everyone involved is appropriately discreet, no one would have to know that someone like Shanahan already was lined up for the job.

It remains to be seen whether G.M. Bruce Allen stays or goes, since he was hired after Gruden arrived.

More to come, undoubtedly.

Would John Gruden be a good HC here? I think he would be great!
