"This one was all my fault," Bannister said. "It’s up to the starting rotation to get us out of this and to go out there and have quality starts. So I put the blame on myself today."

Not your typical Banny response, but hard to disagree with the guy.

"OK, now the tying run is at the plate," Bloomquist said. "Miggy is a good fastball hitter. We could tie this thing up. He got a walk. Now, he’s a base hit away from scoring position.

"Then Zeus hit a gap, and your thought process shifts from tying it to let’s win this thing."

From here on out, let it be known...David DeJesus' new nickname is Zeus. If you don't like it, you can take it up with Willie Bloomquist.

The difference between the situations of Greinke and Hamilton is that Greinke didn't choose for this to happen. If you haven't dealt with a lot of depression or anxiety in your life, you're a special and lucky person I guess. And how do a lot of people choose to deal with depression and anxiety? Plenty of alcohol consumption and/or drug use. It's likely this was how Hamilton chose to handle such situations in the past, and heck, I've certainly been known to drink away my sorrows on occasion.

Chiefs need to draft Chase Coffman - Kansas City Star

"Chase Coffman will not be a bust. He will catch numerous touchdown passes in the NFL. He will be a high-impact rookie, a difference-maker for some quarterback, an easy-to-exploit weapon for a creative offensive coordinator."

As a Chiefs fan, I would love, love, LOVE seeing Coffman in red and gold. Doubt it happens, because we (as of yet) don't have a second round pick, and I'll be a little surprised he's there in the third round.

"He is exactly the kind of football player Pioli and Todd Haley say they want to bring to Kansas City. He’s a natural-born competitor, a loyal soldier and a high-character individual. Because of the influence of his parents, particularly his father, Chase can handle absolutely everything that goes along with being a top-flight NFL player.

Money won’t change him. Fame won’t swell his head. And the elevation in competition won’t make him melt. He’s going to raise his game and be one of the most effective red-zone receivers in the league."

Strong words from Whitlock calling for the Chiefs to draft Coffman. As a Mizzou alum who's watched Coffman over the years, if we can work out getting a second round pick from a trade, or if he's there for our third pick, I LOVE picking up Coffman.
