2 things prithard has learned from the playoffs

I truly believe that once the playoffs start, the cream rises to the top, and any and every flaw a team has is exposed. Taking that into consideration, there are 2 things that I have learned and I believe Kevin Pritchard is going to take into consideration this summer. Number one is the problem with the logjam at small forward. With Martell out, this was Travis' year to shine and show why we have kept him around. While statistically he has had his most impressive year (offensively) he had high expectations going into the playoffs and is definitely a huge factor for us. Unfortunately he has not shown up AT ALL and is a huge defensive liability. At least with Batum you know you are getting defense. I believe that Travis has sealed his fate with this extremely sub par playoff performance.

Secondly, I have learned that Steve blake can't. I know that is music to his ears, but it is true. I remember watching him turn the ball over with Denver at a crucial moment in the playoffs! All this talk about him being clutch, but how anti clutch has he been as well? I am not saying he needs to go, but simply needs to be a nice reserve. How many times did he choke this year and blow/ almost blow games? I almost cringe when he goes to the line in late game situations. I love the guy and i know he is tough, but he IS NOT our starting PG and we need a significant upgrade. I mean frickin AARON BROOKS looks like chris paul against the guy. It is sad but true.

I truly love both of these players and it would hurt more to watch travis go than it was Jarret Jack, but unfortunately I really think it is gonna happen unless he drops 30 tonight. I just worry how Brandon will take it considering they are best friends. I know how many times travis and blake have helped us this REGULAR SEASON. But this is when it matters and they have not only not stepped up, but completely shriveled under pressure. Feedback?

Can anybody tell me, are we supposed to wear certain colors to the game tonight? I am watching the boston/chicago game and everyone is wearing green or white and it is pretty sweet. Are we going with Red? or maybe black and white because Houston is red? any info would help. Goooooooooo Blazers! It would make me very very very very very very very happy if Greg Oden woke up and showed the league they should be afraid, very afraid.

So I woke up like a giddy school girl this morning. Not from the snow, but from the fact I could now look at the highlights and bask in the glory of Roys sure to be dunk of the night. Only problem is that it wasn't dunk of the night! "Wow" I thought, Lebron musta laid something nasty on someone tonight to get that number one spot. I mean, he musta dunked on an infant or somehting! Better yet, he must have dunked an infant over the mom trying to get it back! But no! It was a pretty standard Wilson Chandler baseline dunk with little or no contact?? This begs me to ask the question, " Just who the H#@L picks these things anyway? Monkeys throwing randome darts?" Not only that, but it was only #4 on the top ten plays from Monday on NBA TV! I have now lost all faith in humanity. Maybe it was just the shock from seeing Roy actually throw down like that, but I thought that was something special. Does anyone else feel betrayed and disrespected?

Ok, so I posted before about being classy and staying off of other teams blogs and gloating after a win. I think we can all agree it shows a lack of class and horribly misrepresents this team and its fans. I never mentioned anyone specific but kept it more as a generality. But after tonight, I am disgusted, and ready to call out names. Da34Shadow for some reason felt the need to go over to the celtics blog and post, "Who's barking now" and taunt Garnett. While I may agree, just think if laker fans came and posted FANPOSTS on our site about how roy is overrated or any other taunting. I just cant believe this stupidity. Taunting other teams for injuries or simply us beating them needs to stop. Do we need any more bad Karma???

This subject has come to my attention because I have recently been viewing the other teams blogs after our games to hear from their point of view. It is very enjoyable, (especially since we are winning), but I have noticed something that has been sticking out like a sore thumb. Now I am not going to name any names, but it seems like a common theme that we have a couple people from our site that go over there and talk smack. I think it shows a complete lack of class on our part and really puts other fans off. How often do you see fans from other teams come on to our blog and talk smack after a we recieve a thourough whipping? How would we all feel about that? Questions to consider, and I hope whoever is doing it will stop. Go Blazers

I, like the rest of you, was casually browsing BEdge last night when I came across the news of Roy and instantly thought the worst. I dont know about you, but it is almost as if I have been holding my breath this whole offseason just hoping we can start the season as a HEALTHY team. Just a glimpse of Oden, Roy, and Aldridge was all I wanted. And then BAM, a sledgehammer to my knee if you will.

I bring this up because earlier in the day I had found out that an acquaintance (not friend) of mine had killed himself. I was naturally blown away by the news, but soon recovered and went back to life as normal. Yet before bed time I found myself more angered and bewildered by the news of Roy and his knee. In fact, that was the only thing on my mind when I remembered the news about my acquaintance from earlier, and I suddenly calmed down and put it all in perspective. I love Roy, trust me, but the dude is fine, maybe not his knee, but he is alive, rich, and doing well. And here I am thinking about how unfortunate and unfair life is.

I write this because I am sure the rest of you were pretty upset to say the least. While news following the surgery is intially good, I am still holding my breath. Regardless of how it turns out, I hope that we can all put in perspective what really matters in life. When I am thinking more about Roy and his knee than a person who just took his own life because life was too much to bare, something is wrong. I just hope everyone can take a step back, look at what matters, and then be thankful because life can sure be a WHOLE lot more difficult than an unfortunate incident involving your favorite team. Now of course I hope he has a speedy recovery and is ready to take the league by storm, but please Blazer faithful, lets get a little perspective. P.S. We have Rudy and Bayless in case you haven't heard.

Growing up reading the Oregonian, I would frequently come across his articles and wonder "just what is this guys deal?" Never quite understanding how or why he was even allowed to write about my beloved Blazers. Now, since the emergence of 95.5 The Game, I have had to endure listening to him, causing me to think, how the (add four letter word) did this guy land a spot on the radio?!?! I love The Game because you know you are always going to hear some good Blazer talk on most days, but just listening to this guy drives me insane.

I want to keep this as classy as possible without completely bashing the guy, but there is just something about him that drives me to call him obsene and childish names. I mean, If I thought I couldn't stand his writing, just the tone of his voice is enough to make me want to pull out my hair. I am curious to hear the popular opinion on him and see if he makes everyone else as mad as he does me. Talk about a know it all, pesimist, whiny turd. BFT? more like BFV (use your imagination). Who else will rally with me to get this guy off the air. He talked about how a paper in Washington tried to steal him away and I wish with all my heart he would have taken it! Give me some Wheels, Barrett or Rice for three hours in the middle of the day. Hell, I would take Rosie O'Donell over this guy. Atleast it would sound more manly.

Please, let me know how you feel about him and if I am alone out here...

Just wanted to comment on how GO was MIA from the game last night. Think about it. You think it could have anything to do with the fact that he recently played in a pickup game with scrubs? Did you notice that was like the first question Roy got asked about??? Is there a doubt in your mind they would have been all over him and asked him about it? I think he was probably just embarrassed and didn't want to talk about it with the media. He has had no post since on his blog and it has been kept relatively quiet. They said he had the "flu" but don't you imagine he and the organization wants to just forget about it? I imagine he will resurface soon.
