Alabama sophomore Kirani James repeated as 400 meter national champion yesterday at the 2011 NCAA Championships. This guy has a very bright future, and will have a real shot at getting on the stand at 2012 London.

SEC West among SEC East Elitist?!
The SEC West moved to 7-12 against the "elite" SEC East on the year after Ole Miss took care of Kentucky tonight... so if the West finishes at .500, or better, against the East on the year (likely won't happen), does that mean its elite too?!
Fastest Man in the World
Thought it may be interesting for some, hopefully all, to know that The University of Alabama is currently home to the fastest man in the world at 200 meters indoors this year. His 200 meter time of 20.58 is the fastest in the NCAA since 2009 as well. For those also curious, his time (although posted indoors) would have placed him sixth at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Sidenote - he's only 18 years old.
Alabama Men's Cross Country 3rd at NCAA Championships
I know there aren't too many that follow the sport of cross country, but we should congratulate the No. 3 men's cross country team. They turned in their highest finish in school history this afternoon in Terre Haute, Ind. at the NCAA Championships.
The team had three athletes earn All-American status. In the school's history, there have only been six athletes - eight All-Americans (two earned it twice).

Best College Sports Bar
Found this bracket on the best sports bar on college campuses and the Houndstooth is listed as the fifth seed... right now, we're losing bad against the 12th seed.
For those who enjoy all Tide Sports
The Alabama men's cross country program won the SEC Championship on Monday morning. It is their first since 1973 and only the second ever in school history.
The title for the Tide marks them as the first school to win other than Arkansas since the Hogs joined in 1991. That's 17 straight SEC titles, and Arkansas also won 17 straight in the former Southwestern Conference making their streak 34 straight conference titles.
Alabama dominated the meet placing all five scorers in the top 10, all earning All-SEC honors. The first time since 1976 and only the second time in school history.
