2012 Offense Better Thank 2005? Tasty!
Interesting breakdown and possibilities...
USC v. Bosie St. in a "goblet" game. Let's do this!
Amusing stuff....but I'd go to the game!
Matt Barkley throws four touchdown passes as USC rolls the Bruins 42-3. Barkley nips Stanford QB Andrew Luck for the Heisman Trophy. When Oregon beats Alabama in the BCS national championship game, the AP votes USC No. 1.
On Jan. 12, NCAA president Mark Emmert announces that after a double-secret meeting, all remaining sanctions against USC are revoked. Says Emmert: "It's easy. A Committee of Infractions hearing chaired by former Miami athletic director Paul Dee has zero credibility. I personally reviewed the case. Those penalties were exhorbitant. So the Trojans get time served -- a two-year postseason ban. But they will get all their scholarships back."
Kiffin sweeps across the country, tearing away commitments from major powers in every AQ conference.
Says ESPN recruiting guru Tom Luginbill on national signing day, "It might be the best recruiting class in history."
Meanwhile, UCLA hires Paul Hackett as its head coach.
"He has a track record in Southern California," says athletic director Dan Guerrero.
"You and I see Dee as a hypocrite. But relationships are everything in life and I think Dee's history with the committee will actually help Miami. After all, the committee members all know him. He can lean on them privately to be gentle with the Hurricanes, but really, he doesn't even need to do that.
Presumably, the other committee members like and respected Dee. Do they really want to make him look like a fraud and a cheater -- and, by extension, call their own past work into question? I doubt it."
USC, Ohio St. were best college football teams of last decade
A North Carolina professor crunches the numbers and, sorry SEC fans, says the Trojans and Buckeyes were the class of the field.

Come on Uncle Phil!
It's always about USC...always
I had to hop on Bruin Nation for some halftime fun after watching Cal dominate the gutty little Ruins. Of course, the comments turned from their debacle to USC. Since they can't route for their team, the chat moved to hating. UCLA "fans" are so pathetic.
Only satisfaction today will be Harbaugh asking... Kiffin, What’s your deal?
I can't find USC @ Stanford on DirecTV? Does anyone know who is broadcasting that game at 6pm? A strong beat down by Stanford would at least be some comfort today.
Bruin Nation is crumbling...
I can't stop reading Bruin Nation. Really, you can't beat it for pure entertainment. I was reading a post by some Bruin fan whining about how people are slamming the team and their coach on the site, and found this comment from our friend, and their humble moderator:
Part of us are contemplating just shutting this whole place down and perhaps let someone else start a UCLA blog. Doesn’t seem worth the trouble for what is supposed to be a hobby.
If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen I guess...
The Pac-10 Has More Work Ahead to Overcome Natural Disadvantages
Interesting read on the Pac 10 from John Walters at Fanhouse (with Lane Kiffin digs, of course).

This stuff is starting wear on me, but an interesting analysis.
Neuheisel says Carroll is scared of the Ducks?
Bumped...More obsession from Slick Rick.
Last year aside, didn't SC beat the Ducks several times under Carroll?
Playoffs = how many national titles for USC?
Sorry if this was posted already, but found it interesting.

Fast 40?
Question is...did he beat Taylor Mays time? The comparisons at the end are pretty funny.

Jeremiah Masoli, Garrett Embry are Oregon players named in police report, student says
I hate to see players make dumb mistakes like this...if its true. Hopefully for the Ducks its just a case of "mistaken identity." If not, I wonder what punishment Chip Kelly would hand down?
The Eugene Police Department confirmed this morning that its officers are investigating an alleged theft, and the student who filed the report has told The Oregonian that the men he accuses in it are University of Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and wide receiver Garrett Embry.

An evening at Pauley...
Bumped - P
A little off topic, but funny none-the-less. I found this on ESPN's mobile site (can't find it on the full version website). ESPN blogger D'Arcy Maine attends the UCLA/New Mexico basketball game and gives us a blow-by-blow description of the night. Here's an excerpt: (emphasis added)
8:28 PM: There is an attractive group of female students in front of me dressed in their finest clothes. I ask the security guard about them. Apparently they are paid to schmooze with recruits. I hope Lane Kiffin is reading this. Turns out you just have to call it "schmoozing". Crisis averted. Looks like I just saved the Vols recruiting class.
OK, one more:
8:34 PM: The halftime entertainment is the LA Clippers "Chairmen", a wheelchair basketball team. The crowd is far more into this than they are for the actual game. Only a few people leave their seats. Probably because this is the best basketball the crowd will witness tonight.

UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel has a way with words. On Monday he did his best to downplay the Bruins’ budding quarterback controversy and two-game losing streak. By the sound of things, there might also be a power struggle brewing between him and offensive coordinator Norm Chow.
