Gehart has batter numbers on a 4 loss team then Ingram.

I think Ingram is getting to much love for his last performance from a somewhat average year rushing the ball. Don't see that he or Gerhart diserve the Heisman.

The Heisman shouldn’t be won or lost by one game. It should be the whole year and highlights. That’s why it is for most outstanding player of the year, not what you did right before voting takes place

The vote is also becoming laughable. The vote seems to be influenced by the BCS standings more year after year. There is precedent for a winner with career records (Ricky Williams and Ron Dane). Colt has the most wins and highest comp % of any QB ever and the first QB to record 12 wins in back to back seasons.

If you look back at past heisman winners, especially before the BCS, I know there are winners on teams that didn't finish in the top two in the country. I'm not rooting for or against Colt, but I believe that he is a worthy Heisman winner in my book and to not be included with the winners of past Heismans would be bad for the trophy. They risk the Heisman trophy becoming irrelevant in college football.

With all the teams going with alternate helmets/uniforms (Missouri and Kansas in their game last Saurday). Would Longhorn fans like to see an alternate uniform/helmet maybe once per year? Not refering to throwback uniforms but new look ones. What alternate helmet designs do you think might be interested in seeing? Here are some ideas that I thought of.
1. Ram like Longhorn Horns design on helmet (in longhorn form of course)
2. interlocking UT logo that is seldome used
3. Bevo toon showing double Hook'em signes/or head only
4. Blown up normal Longhorn head
5. the detailed Longhorn logo from the Zephyr caps
6. Reverse colors, Burnt orange helmet with white Longhorn logo.

What do yall think?

Just a though. Hypothetically speaking. If A&M would have won last Thursday, wouldn't it hurt A&M (and Big 12) more by winning the game then losing the game? As far as money A&M would receive by the shared income it would bring in the Big 12 by Texas probably missing out of the National Championship Game if A&M had won? Granting that Texas takes care of business in the next game vs Nebraska. With that said it would hurt the Big 12 and Nebraska by the same token if Texas fails to beat the Huskers.

I'm not trying to start what's better for the coference, but at this point, anything but a Texas win in the Title Game would not only hurt the Big 12, but the other teams as well in form of money and exposure.

I expect the Texas Defense to be back and on for the Big 12 and the game after in Janurary. I suspect that the main reason that the Defense was torched in Thursday's game was because the limited time to prepare and the tired legs from the quick turn around especially in the secondary.

Calling out all Ranger fans......

In my opinion, the Clubs money issues could have been solved or helped with better turnout this season.

If the Rangers could have drawn 30+ thousand fans per game on average I believer that the increased in income alone would have helped the 2009 outcome this season. With increased income/attendance, the Rangers would be able to pick up a pitcher or bat with they need it and not end up flat at the end of the year. The Indians and Braves benefited from saleout or near sellout crowds in the 90's. The Red Sox and Yankees while have bigger wallets to begin with arn't hurt by poor turnout.

I say if Ranger fans really want to see this team excell in the playoffs and put the end to Angel domination in the West, the Rangers need to see atleast 30,000+ crowns nightly and sellouts in weekend games.

I live about 2 hours from the ballpark and usually try to make it one game a season. This year I descided to make 2 games. There are enough Ranger fans in the D/FW area to fill the Ballpark. The new Cowboy Stadium holds over 100,000 fans and if the Cowboys can get that many per game a few blocks away, surely 30,000 plus per game is possible. Better attendance will help The Rangers be able to jump the Angels and be the dominating team in the AL West..

Who should the Rangers go with? I believe the odd man out might be either Byrd or Cruz. Murphy is a consistant bat and defensive presence and Hamilton's bat should make a return in 2010 with health. Barbon is a speedster and a good average guy that shouldn't be forgotten moved. While Cruz has some pop, he hasn't shown much else and his range in the outfield is suspect. Byrd can be streaky with the bat but can make the catches you need to stay in the game. I wonder what kind of pitching the Rangers could add with a trade involving Cruz or Byrd. I would hate to see Byrd go to the Angels like Gary Matthews Jr.

With Eddie giving up yet another crucial HR last night, he has nothing left in the tank to fool batters or overpower them.

When Eddie came in last night, I knew something bad was about to happen. The last time he pitched he gave up a bad HR in his last outing against the Angels and Friday night was no different.

I thought that Kinsler would be back at 2ndlast night and we sure could have used him. There were a couple of plays that Omar Visquel couldn't quite make that I believe if Kinsler was out there, he would have made, which could have made the difference in the game last night. {couple of hits (top 9), one being an infield hit, around 2nd base and the other finding a hole to get to CF}

Yet again and a second half run while the Rangers string off multiple wins only to see the Angels copy.

Haven't we seen this before? The last couple of years when the Rangers were still in the race with the Angels, the Rangers go on a nice win streak or win like 8 of 10 or something to that effect only to see the Angels match it or better and the Rangers lose ground regardless. I'm sure many Rangers fans out there share my frustration on this. The only difference this time around is that the Rangers hold a nice 9-2 record against the Angels and an 18-8 record vs. the West. I say if they Rangers can continue this streak and if the Angels could perhaps have a loosing spell or two by the end of the year, I say it would be a good possibility that they Rangers can take the West. The Wild card is still within reach with only the Red Sox 2.5 games currently ahead of them.

What doesn't help the Rangers is when they play a team like the Red Sox, they Angels are playing Kansas City. One key spot coming up in the schedule is August 4-6 when the Rangers play the @A's and Angels play @White Sox. The Rangers might be able to gain ground then. Other the head to head and division play, the Rangers tend to play teams that are stronger then the teams the Angels play. Call it bad luck or no luck but that's the way the cards were delt for this years schedule.

I say they injury but would be nice right now for the Angels since the Rangers had to go through the Flu bug and are currently 5-5 in their last 10 games.
