For those of you making the trip out to Stony Brook tonight, check out some signs I've made for College Crosse to help support the Orange!
College Crosse Presents: Signs You Can Bring to Title Games!
Are you a College Crosse reader? Are you going to any of the title games in the next two days? Do you have a printer?
If you answered "Well, duh, yes!" to these three questions, then here's some signs you can bring to your choice of Division I, Division II, or Division III men's championship games in Foxborough, Massachusetts, or the Division I women's title game in Stony Brook! Sure, College Crosse only sticks to Division I men's lacrosse, but with championship weekend we know there are a lot of people catching the lower division games as well.
Not going to the games? No worries! Just print them out and hang them up in your room or office to make for a great conversation piece or something. If you click the images, you can make them full size.
Division I Championship: Maryland vs. Loyola
(Loyola's sign is a reference to the fact that the Greyhounds would be the ninth school to win a national championship.)
(Maryland's sign is mentioning the Terps' opportunity to win their first national title since 1975.)
Division II, Division III, and women's Division I signs come after the jump.
This is basically all we've got to talk about today, aside from some baseball and some marathons on TV. Saturday Open Thread regardless

Dropkick Murphys - I'm Shipping Up To Boston (with lyrics). (via mArTiN90dth)
(You knew eventually this song would show up. Even if it's not really in Boston at all.)
Today's a big day in college lacrosse, as four teams battle it out in Foxborough to play for the right to dance with the National Championship on Monday! First, it's a battle of two teams looking for title number one as Notre Dame faces-off against Loyola. That's followed by a clash of rivals and two different styles of play as Duke collides with Maryland. ESPN2's got all the action for you starting at 2:30. As always (and for that matter, better late than never), we've got some fancy smancy infographs to help you prepare for today's games (as well as give you the ability to blast out some Dropkick Murphys songs for the whole neighborhood to hear). Without any more interruption, here's a look at today's big games!
#4 Notre Dame vs. #1 Loyola
Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: Their cover of "The Irish Rover," because it's a team named the Fighting Irish against a team that's named after a dog. Get it?

Lacrosse Magazine named him a 3-time "Lacrosse Radio Host of the Year."
Duke Head Coach John Danowski says he's "The most recognizable name in Mid-Atlantic college athletic media."
Mike Francesa would have him on his show if it weren't for Rangers-Devils and the Yankees this weekend.
He single-handedly caused the Cornell Daily Sun to declare war on The Princetonian and The Daily Orange during the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
Broadcasting throughout the lacrosse hotbeds of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
This . . . is the Paul Finebaum Radio Network!
Welcome to today's show. We're counting down to the big weekend in Foxborough but if yesterday's show was any indication we're still recovering from the fallout from Hopkins-Maryland. Later on in the show we'll have our weekly talk with ESPN and SNY's Eamon McAnaney to give a preview for this weekend, but as always we'll start with your phone calls.
2012 College Crosse Bracket Challenge: Quarterfinal Update
Another round has come and gone, and that means another update to the scoreboard for the College Crosse Bracket Challenge. In this round, things started to separate a little bit. Nobody had a perfect Final Four, oh by the way (I won't subject to you to Miley Cyrus this time around), but some participants still have their National Title Game nicely still in place. For others, this is really the end of the line for you, as you guys got none of the semifinalists correct. Our apologies, and we recommend you light your bracket on fire in an outdoor setting away from any objects. Some trends that I saw while marking the tallys:
- Virginia and Johns Hopkins hurt a lot of guys. I know, they are under the "SAME FOUR TEAMS (plus Duke)" category and since 1975 one of them or Syracuse made it to championship weekend. Welp, that's not going to happen this time around. Be sure to root for Loyola and Duke for all the pain caused by Notre Dame and Maryland to your brackets.
- A lot of the championship picks have really dwindled down with Hopkins, Virginia, UMass, and ...Syracuse all out. That means things are gonna spread out quite a bit towards the end
- Many of you who did well in the 1st round did well in the Quarterfinals as well. However, some who didn't do so well recovered pretty nicely this time around.
So without any further ado, here's a look at how the standings look now: Bracket Challenge Quarterfinal Scoreboard
Best of luck with Championship Weekend as the College Crosse Bracket Challenge is shipping up to Boston (WOAH-OH-OH) and commuting over to Foxborough from a hotel in Harvard Square with a bunch of 11 year-old Long Island boys running around, playing fiddle stick, and preventing you from getting any sleep.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Temptation Sensation (via sofiahime)
Technically I'm lying to you because these games are in Chester, not in Philadelphia. But if the NCAA says it's Philly, it's Philly. Grab your Philly Cheesesteaks and get prepped for the quarterfinals with these infographs. There's two games on the docket, as Notre Dame and Virginia face off in the only fully-seeded quarterfinal of the tournament followed by Colgate looking to pull off another huge upset against Duke. If you're at home, the games will be televised on ESPNU, complete with all the Enterprise, Sector SPDRs, and Paul Rabil/Warrior WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB commercials you can handle.
#5 Virginia vs. #4 Notre Dame
Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: "Loyal to No-One" because it's an awesome song and has a train and Philadelphia's got a pretty large commuter-rail system. Yeah.
Don't worry, Colgate and Duke fans, you didn't get the shaft. Just click after the jump to see your infographic and hear your Dropkick Murphys song.
NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Infographs: Annapolis Quarterfinals

If you missed anything -- and you really shouldn't because you're only hurting yourself if you do -- click this fancy highlighted text to get all caught up.
The only issue with these infographics are that they get a little redundant this time of year. And when it comes to the two games in Annapolis, you've seen these things already a few weeks ago (ahem and sorta ahem). However, because you guys love infographics, and you love rivalries, which Johns Hopkins-Maryland and Loyola-Denver are two of the best in the biz, and I love the readers of this site, so without further ado, here's two matchup infographics for the games you'll see Saturday on ESPN2 from Annapolis, Maryland. Good luck with traffic on I-97 if you're going from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium to the Preakness. I'm still not sure which genius at the NCAA thought that was a good idea...
Maryland vs. #2 Johns Hopkins
Dropkick Murphys Song(s) of the Matchup: Mandatory "Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya" and "Which Side Are You On?" for the rivalry aspect.

2012 College Crosse Bracket Challenge: First Round Update
It's time for the first update of the 2012 COLLEGE CROSSE BRACKET CHALLENGE. I've got good news and bad news. Let's start with the bad news first.
nobodys perfect (via doglover199709)
Nobody will be winning the College Crosse $1 Million Perfect Bracket Challenge. (No, we weren't really going to be giving away a million but it sounded fun.) Everybody got at least one game wrong. Most of you can blame it on UMass-Colgate or Lehigh-Maryland or being Syracuse homers. So it goes.
The good news, though, is that basically everyone's still in this! Everyone got at least half the games right, so nobody had to really crumble their brackets into the trash just yet. However, some national title picks (such as UMass and UNC and . . . Syracuse) are out the window after this weekend.
Check out the standings right here: Bracket Challenge First Round Scoreboard.
Best of luck in the next round as we continue our magical journey into the COLLEGE CROSSE BRACKET CHALLENGE.
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament in One Infographic

Boys and girls, this is by far the most expansive and wackiest infograph I've ever done. It might just be the most mind-boggling lacrosse infograph on the internet, too. What you are about to see is 2400x800 pixels of lacrosse knowledge. Don't say I didn't warn you, because here it comes...
For the love of Quint Kessenich, Bill Tierney, and Mikey Powell, click to enlarge it so you don't go blind from trying to read it
If that's still too small for you, I will gladly e-mail it to you if you tweet me @RyanMcD29.
NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Infographs: #7 Lehigh vs. Maryland
It's the 2012 NCAA Tournament! Take out the nice napkins and make sure that your kid doesn't have crap all over his face. College Crosse has this all under control, so feel safe, friends. If you missed anything -- and you really shouldn't because you're only hurting yourself if you do -- click this fancy highlighted text to get all caught up.
Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: "The Gauntlet" as both teams are looking to fight their way through the NCAA Tournament. Lehigh wants to make a huge mid-major splash while Maryland looks to repeat their unseeded magic of 2011. Either way, it's gonna be a fight on Sunday Night (or as Faith Hill like to say... THE TERPS AND THE HAWKS IN A NASTY SHOWDOWN and I'VE BEEN WAITING ALL DAY FOR A SUNDAY NIGHT.. GET ON YOUR FEET FOR A STAR-SPANGLED FIGHT*)
Dropkick murphys The Gauntlet (via Mclovinreturns)
To wrap up your NCAA First Round viewing experience, it's Maryland taking on Lehigh. This should be a fun one to watch for your Sunday Night viewing experience, as Lehigh has looked good all season long and look to make some big noise while Maryland looks to do what they did last year, when they made it all the way to Memorial Day as an unseeded team. Both teams are dangerous and both teams will be bringing their A-Game. Worth mentioning is that Maryland lost their final game of the season against another Patriot League team in Colgate. They'll be looking to bounce back by taking out that conference's champ. Meanwhile, Lehigh's got a packed house, as they've already announced a sold out crowd in Bethlehem. This should be the perfect end to a perfect weekend of lax, so here's how the Terps and the Mountain Hawks match up.
*(if there was a Faith Hill intro to college lacrosse, I'd expect it to be like CBS Sports Network's intro. Hope you all like the ACC, Johns Hopkins, Princeton, and Syracuse!)
NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Infographs: #4 Notre Dame vs. Yale
Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: "Fields of Athenry" because Celtic and a bunch of Republic of Ireland sport teams use it and Notre Dame's like the Ireland team of America. There's also ships by New Haven and the British had control over the Long Island Sound during the Revolution or whatever (probably way off on the Connecticut side but I had to relate it to Yale somehow).
Dropkick Murphys - Fields of Athenry (via XxMrBlondexX)
If you would've told me that Yale and Notre Dame would be playing in the NCAA Tournament about two weeks ago, I probably thought you were crazy. Notre Dame had an inside track to a top 2 seed and Yale was looking like the 3rd team in a conference that was at most a 2-bid conference. Then last weekend Notre Dame lost to St. John's and failed to make the Big East Championship Game while Yale continued their winning streak by knocking off Cornell and Princeton on their way to an Ivy League auto-bid. So now we're here. Yale's got the longest winning streak in the nation while Notre Dame has to shake off their loss to St. John's. However, the Irish look like one of the favorites to win the whole thing and a win over the Bulldogs would set the wheels in motion. It's going to be an interesting one in South Bend, and here's how the two teams look. Note the use of both teams not using costumed things for mascots and using real humans/dogs!
NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Infographs: #2 Johns Hopkins vs. Stony Brook
Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: "Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya." We're contractually obligated to play this song for every Johns Hopkins game in the tournament. Rule would've also applied had St. John's won the Big East.
Dropkick Murphys - Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya (via otakuploader)
So, Johns Hopkins-Stony Brook. You'll be treated to.. well... Homewood Field. And a lacrosse game. And maybe the possibility of a team with a losing record beating Johns Hopkins because this season's been wacky and what's a huge upset to boot. More than likely, though, you'll be hearing the Johns Hopkins pep band a lot. Either way, here's how the Seawolves and Blue Jays square up.
NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Infographs: #5 Virginia vs. Princeton
It's the 2012 NCAA Tournament! Take out the nice napkins and make sure that your kid doesn't have crap all over his face. College Crosse has this all under control, so feel safe, friends. Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: Did the Dropkick Murphys ever do a cover of "Orange Crush"? No? Then we're gonna have to break my own rule and do the version Editors did.
Editors - Orange Crush (via receiptforsale)
STORY TIME STORY TIME STORY TIME! So the last time Virginia and Princeton faced off, it was on ESPN. However, instead of watching it at home, I went to the game as my high school team went on a trip down to Jersey because we had some guys on the Tigers who played for us and our coach thought it would be a very good matchup to see. The game was quite good (a 12-10 Hoos victory), but it rained. It poured. It was like a hurricane hit extreme northeastern Mercer County and dumped all the rain it could. If I recall correctly, about four inches of rain fell that day on Princeton Stadium (FUN FACT: Somehow I've been to more Princeton games at Princeton Stadium than I have at Class of 52 Astro Turf Field O' Fun Stadium). Did I mention I could've watched it in my nice cozy home on ESPN?
Well, the Cavaliers and the Tigers are facing off on ESPN again on Sunday, this time in probably the most mind blowing first round matchup in ages. These two squads fall in the "SAME FOUR SCHOOLS (plus Duke)" championship category and both could make a tournament run deep into May with Virginia being the defending champs (and have Steele Stanwick) while Princeton, even though they barely made the tournament, looks like the most dangerous unseeded team (and have Tyler Fiorito). A lot of people are saying this showdown in Charlottesville could be the best of the First Round. How do they match up against one another? Take a look at this infographic to find out. It's quite orangey. And it didn't even require Syracuse or Otto to make it so... orange.
NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Infographs: #8 UNC vs. Denver
It's the 2012 NCAA Tournament! Take out the nice napkins and make sure that your kid doesn't have crap all over his face. College Crosse has this all under control, so feel safe, friends. Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: "Hang 'Em High" because with these two offenses, all you gotta say is "now lower the cannons the battle begins."
Dropkick Murphys - Hang 'Em High (via cherryapplejuice)
Are you ready for some Saturday Night Fireworks? Oh no, we're not allowing you to watch Capitals-Rangers Game 7. Come on, that's just gonna be Lundqvist and Holtby stopping pucks. This? OFFENSIVE EXPLOSIONS AND NOT THAT MUCH DEFENSE! The Denver Pioneers head to Chapel Hill to take on the UNC Tar Heels in what should be a high scoring affair. Denver got into the tournament by the skin of their teeth and UNC just held on to a home game (your welcome RPI ruining everything by scheduling Michigan). What will happen Saturday night? Anything and everything, to be quite honest. Here's how they look against one another in terms of stats.
NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Infographs: #1 Loyola vs. Canisius
Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: "Take It and Run" because Loyola wants to do just that early
Dropkick Murphys - Take it and run (lyrics on description) (via doslitris)
So yeah, Loyola's the top seed of the NCAA Tournament. They'd like nothing better than to propel that to win their first national championship and become the kings of the lacrosse world, as well as have bragging rights over those other Maryland schools (like Hopkins, Maryland, and Navy). However, considering this entire season's been so crazy go nuts, it's not impossible for Canisius to screw that all up for the Greyhounds and pull off one of the largest upsets in NCAA Tournament history. Here's a look at how this game will shape up.
NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Infographs: #6 UMass vs. Colgate
Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: "The State of Massachusetts" because the game's being played there and that's where the tournament ends as well.
Dropkick Murphys - The State of Massachusetts (via Guyfr0msweden)
Two teams... two very similar color schemes... two almost identical mascots and logos. This must mean one thing: UMass-Colgate. It's chock filled with colonial guys with tri-cornered hats and red jackets and stuff. It's also got Will Manny and Peter Baum and if you needed any reason to watch lacrosse ever, that's it. In addition to the Manny-Baum battle, it's a very interesting matchup between two of the teams that headed the mid-major movement sweeping the college lacrosse world. And just look at the whopping amount of goals per game that both teams score! It's anybody's game out in Amherst, and here's how the Minutemen and Raiders match up
See what I mean? Those guys are like twins.
NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Infographs: #3 Duke vs. Syracuse
Alrighty, it's time to break out the infographs for the 2012 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament! Men's D-1, sorry everyone looking for Gary Gait's battle plan to destroy everything in sight for the Women's tournament or breaking down Cortland-Salisbury in every way possible. If you loved the conference tournament matchup infographs, you'll love these new features!
- More colorful!
- Breaks down how each team earned their way to the NCAA Tournament!
- Includes furry, loveable, and adorable NCAA mascots! Well, at least for the First Round
- Comes with a Dropkick Murphys song in every post because the Final Four's in Massachusetts and thus every song needs to be Dropkick Murphys!
Dropkick Murphys Song of the Matchup: "The Burden" because... yeah... Syracuse is somehow in this tournament and Duke always seems to bounce back from bad outings in a huge way.
Dropkick Murphys - The Burden w/lyrics (via MrSchevik)
We begin with a future ACC rivalry and a rematch from last month involving two of the past three NCAA Champions: Duke and Syracuse. This is about as high profile as you can get for a matchup, people, and that's why it's on ESPN instead of the U. This is also a very intriguing game, as Syracuse seemed to get its act together in the Big East Tournament while Duke can either look very good or look very sloppy depending on how they show up each game. Either way, this should be a fun one. Here's a look at how they match up.
Stick to College Crosse the next two days as we break down all the First Round matchups. Also be on the lookout late Friday night for the lacrosse infographic to end all lacrosse infographics... or at least hopefully it will be.
Ivy League Lacrosse Tournament Infographic: #2 Cornell vs. #3 Yale

You want the biggest bubble battle of the weekend? Look no further to this one. Cornell, without master of the universe Rob Pannell, has fallen down to the bubble spot after two straight losses. Yale, on the other hand, is on fire and on a seven game winning streak after going quintuple-overtime against Princeton. The Big Red and the Bulldogs tackle in what should be an epic battle right off of Nassau Street this evening and the intensity will be through the roof. Here's a look at how these two squads match up.
Ivy League Lacrosse Tournament Infographic: #1 Princeton vs. #4 Brown
Every Division I tournament. Every team. College Crosse has it all on lockdown. Please send cookies and naptime. Today we're slashing to bits the Ivy League Tournament.
The Princeton Tigers are one of the hottest teams in the nation and will be hosting the Ivy League Tournament. On the other hand, the Brown Bears are looking to do what the St. John's Red Storm did yesterday in the Big East and make the chaos theory continue to dominate college lacrosse. Grab some Hoagie Haven, because this one will be a fun one to watch. I mean, really, just check out Hoya Suxa's Fun Factor ratings for proof with this Tiger team. And if Brown pulls off the upset, that's fun too because it adds to the insanity of this season. You just had to miss the tournament, Harvard... That had a Jeremy Lin pun written all over it.

You know what with music... I've had a busy week. I'm letting YOU, the reader, to choose your music while viewing the conference overview! Oh man, what power to have. If you're reading this and thinking LOLOL NERDS, click here. If you're reading this and thinking LOLOL RICH PEOPLE, click here. If you're reading this and thinking "Oh, it's always Cornell and Princeton winning this conference anyway," click here and here (sorry P'ton fans for picking the most cliche song ever).
Now alas, no, Cornell and Princeton don't automatically win these things. They have, however, dominated the Ivy League quite a bit as of late. But don't let that fool you, this Ivy League Tournament, especially given Notre Dame's early exit in the Big East Tournament, is going to be whales of fun. The intensity is cranked up to 11 as it's looking less and less likely that the Ivy's a two-bid conference. Yale very much wants to crash the NCAA Tournament with their winning streak and Brown wants to make every bracketologist's head explode. The Tigers and the Red sure as hell want to be surely in the field, too. And with three teams on the at-large bubble, you know everybody's going to bring it at Class of 52 Astro Turf Field O'Fun.... actually, Princeton did a really nice job putting in field turf during the offseason, so it's no more super bouncy lax time!
Here's an infographic that I'm sure you guys will love. The Ivy League website kept all the ties in place and didn't have historic standings, and considering the Ivies count shared championships towards their conference title total, I kept them in place. This is also the most extensive infographic you'll see, as it goes back to the beginning of the NCAA Tournament era. I hope you all have as much fun looking at it as I did making this.

No bid? No problem! College Crosse has the NEC Tournament covered, too. We don't say Every Division I Tournament for nothing. As I mentioned yesterday, I've been stuffed with finals as of late, so I won't be able to get to the fun team profiles and matchup infographics until possibly the championship round. But that doesn't stop me from coming out with an overview for the NEC Tournament! The conference is only in its second year of existence, thus the NCAA does not grant an auto-bid to the NEC, but the fun is still coming to Moon Township! Here's a look at the tournament as a whole, including a very brief history lesson.
If you click on it, you can see it CLEARER! LARGER! MORE MIND-BLOWING!

I've got some good and bad news for you guys. The bad news is it's finals week here at Syracuse, so my infographic output will be cut down a bit for some of the minor conference tournaments. The good news? I've still got nifty overviews for the MAAC conference, as well as the NEC, and we'll be going H.A.M. into the Ivy League Tournament tomorrow! I'll also try to get some matchup and profile infographs this weekend for the championships I've kinda glanced over (no promises though, I do have quite a ton to do). Don't worry, Hoya Suxa still got the goods for these tournaments, so you won't be left behind, fans of the MAAC! Without further ado, here's a look at the MAAC Tournament taking place on Marist's campus this weekend. Sorry, no free peeks from the side of the Amtrak Empire Service train.

Tomorrow we'll be giving you in-depth coverage of the America East Tournament. However, the semifinals start tonight. To get you all warmed up for the tournament where, yes, a sub-.500 team will be going to the Spring Formal (otherwise known as the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament, which is smaller than Basketball's "Big Dance"), here's a look at how things shake out overall in the conference.
As you can see, there's no "ranked team" box in this infographic. Duh. Otherwise, enjoy the action tonight and stay tuned for more stuff tomorrow on the America East Tournament!

Wooaaaahhhh Nelly! This is a huge game on the bubble. The Syracuse Orange looked like they turned around their season against Princeton early in April. Or maybe the week after when they trashed Rutgers. Well, they're on a two game Big East losing streak after losing to Georgetown and Notre Dame. Villanova looked like a sure at-large... that is until they lost to Providence last weekend. Now this game between the Orange and the Wildcats sets up as an elimination game, with the winner having a slim chance of getting an at-large but realistically needing to win the tournament. The loser, it's all but certain, will not be playing any more lacrosse this season after the completion of the game. Here's a look at how both teams break down.

Sorry guys, we were only able to rent out CBS' crew and music and slogans for two stories. That stuff gets really expensive quick. On the brighter side, we've still got infographics and analytics to post! "Hello Friends, I'm Jim Nantz. This weekend we embark on one of sports' greatest traditions. The excitement. The pageantry. The history. The elegance of Villanova University's every sport in the universe turf field. This can be nothing other than the Big East Lacrosse Tournament. Notre Dame heads in with a sure spot in the NCAA Tournament, but to lock up their first conference crown would make many an Irish eye a smilin'. Then there's Villanova, who needs a Big East championship on their home turf to send them to the NCAAs. And then there's the perennial powerhouse, Syracuse. The Orange are in an unthinkable situation... if they don't get the auto-bid, they'll be sitting out the NCAA Tournament. And let's not forget St. John's, who's looking to play the ultimate role of spoiler and crash the NCAA party. Without further ado, let's take a look at this year's tournament, which can be seen right after the jump."
