Van Walker, Yahoo! contributing writer should get a job as a paid writer because he is really funny! Here is an excerpt:

"The play was the old 43-Dive, right off the center's left butt cheek. All Barber had to do was follow a bunch of fat guys in white jerseys and fall down, and three minutes later he's in the locker room running through cliches like "it was a team effort" and "I can't replace Matt Forte, I'm just trying to do my part" and "our backs are against the wall" and other such comfortable phrases mumbled in the afterglow of a victory.

Quoth John Belushi, but noooooooo."

Mile High Report Throwback Hoodie

I've been planning to make a decent avatar ever since I joined MHR, and finally got around to it today. My wife's nephew owns a t-shirt shop in Denver, and several years ago my wife commissioned him to make me a Broncos hoodie for a unique Christmas gift. Since this seems to be "the year of the hoodie", coupled with the throwback uniforms of the last couple games, this seemed like an appropriate way to update my avatar from the default image, introduce myself a bit, and share a few images from my man cave.

BTW - AFAIK, there are only two of these hoodies in existence. My wife had the other one made for our daughter's BF, who is also a big Broncos fan. If you want one, you'll have to get one made custom like she did for me :-)

Mile High Report 1st and Goal and No Points

I read a few folks here writing about being concerned about red zone production, and I am concerned too. In particular, on that first drive where we couldn't knock it in from the one yard line. After the jump, I am reposting something I asked about in the 3rd Qtr open thread (I hope this isn't bad manners here to repost, I'm still kind of a newby to this board). But during those last 4 downs, where we turned it over on downs without even a field goal to show for it, I really wondered about the play calling. I certainly understand the rationale of the coach showing the team that he has the confidence to go for it on 4th and goal at the 1. But I'd be curious what others who have more football smarts than I (most everyone here) have to say about this?

Mile High Report OMG! Gimme another swig of that Kool Aid!

Hi all, first post by a noob, lurking a while here.

I have only seen a couple games this exciting. The first that comes to mind was the Divisional win over Houston in 92 when we made 2 4th down conversions and drove from the 2 for the winning field goal. The other was the Washington game where Rod Smith made his first NFL reception to win the game on the final play of the game. I was at both of those games.
