SC Warrior

I was born and raised in Santa Clara and lived in the Bay Area all my life. My family is orginally from Hawaii (Oahu) and the Philippines (Pampanga). I've been a die hard Warrior fan since 1985. I remember watching Warrior games on KICU-Channel 36 when George Karl coached a promising squad with Sleepy Floyd, a rookie Chris Mullin, tear-drop shooter Purvis Short, Mr. Mean aka Larry Smith, and Joe Barry Carroll. My favorite NBA player growing up was Byron Scott of the Lakers and Tim Hardaway. I honed my game after Scott's jumper and Hardaway's UTEP 2-Step crossovers.
Over the years, I've stood by the Warriors through all their ups and downs. I've bitten my tongue many times when we drafted wrong . . . Joe Smith instead of Kevin Garnett, Todd Fuller instead of Kobe Bryant, Adonal Foyle instead of Tracy McGrady, and Antawn Jamison instead of Dirk Nowitzki or Vince Carter. We let Gilbert Arenas leave via free agency and traded Mitch Richmond for Billy Owens and Chris Mullin for Erick Dampier. It hurts, but you see the team pick themselves up and keep on fighting with what they got. That's Warrior Pride.
