Daily Norseman I don't know who this Omar Kelly is but its interesting

http://twitter.com/OmarKelly/status/30282174057947136

I have no idea why Omar Kelly, apparently of the Orland sentential, would have such a strong inside source. When you sit back and look at the Vikings hires it kinda makes sense. I like what I have seen from Vince on the field. He has had his share of off the field issues though. I think LF is the kind of coach who could help Vince, and the Vikings have a veteran locker room. I am not sure if I am excited or not. Please discuss.

Daily Norseman In the shocker of the week Dilfer picks vikes to lose

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=wojciechowski_gene&id=4841753&sportCat=nfl

The article is a nice little back and forth between Gene Wojciechowski's pro saints and pro vikings sides that shows this is a very good match up between relatively equal teams. The video is Trent Dilfer explaining how the great line play of the cowboys saints will be the difference and they will handle the vikings. I think I have seen this song and dance before. It ends in Mr. Differ looking like an idiot. Its always a joy to watch.

Daily Norseman Sunday wild card games

I may be the only person who is watching this game and is willing to talk about them, but i wanted a place to voice my opinion. With just a few minutes gone in the New England and Baltimore game, the Ravens are up 14 -0 with a long run coming from Ray Rice and a sack/fumble (aka Jared Allen special) from Suggs.  The ravens look faster and more ready for playoff football. The loss of Wes Welker maybe even bigger than expected.

Daily Norseman 9th probowler

Since Desean Jackson was selected to two positions for the probowl, the league chose to replace him that the position he had the lower total vote. That happened to be KR, so, ROY Percy Harvin was selected to replace him. Making the 9th viking on the NFC probowl roster and the 9th player that will have to be replaced when the vikings are preparing to play in the super bowl. Also my 2 cents on the packers. Bring them on. The last 8 games that they are 7-1 in were all played on grass (except detroit). The slow fields have allowed them to hide their poor line play. If they happen to come to Minny anytime that game will not be pretty.

Daily Norseman Off the topic of football: Modern Warfare 2

I have recently got my copy of Modern Warfare 2. Beyond regular multiplayer, I would like to find some guy (or girls) interested in doing some to the spec ops missions. I have been working, so i haven't been able to play, but from what i hear is doesn't disappoint. I am on xbox live. I know some of your are already my friends, but if you aren't my gamer tag is Hydatid Cyst. Add me.

Daily Norseman Question for Everyone

I created a little poll for everyone. I made the answer really easy, but I am sure there are some people who find a reason to disagree with the correct answer. Hopefully it is not to difficult. I don't have enough words so I am going to fill space with my opinion of the game. Brett looked like he was slow on the trigger and took some unnecessary hits, but he was also protecting the ball. I was really impressed with Percy Harvin. He is a threat to make a big play every time he touches the ball. AP, what can you say about him. Defense looked good. When they don't get stuck dealing with a short field (onside kick) there isn't many teams that can move the ball on them.

Poll
Which NFC North QB had the highest QB rating week one?
Aaron Rodgers (92.0) thanks to blown coverage on a 50yd TD

Jay Cutler (43.2) Bears QB of the future with 4 Ints

Brett Favre (95.3) To old to play, to much of a gun slinger, no one on the team likes him

Mattew Stafford (27.4) 1st overall pick, 1st game of his career

Daily Norseman ESPN reports Vikings spend pursuit of Brett Favre

ESPN just broke in on their evening Sportscenter to report that Vikings officials have informed Bus Cook and the Favre camp that they will no longer be pursuing Brett to be their QB for the up coming season. This was reported by Ed Werder. He stated the Chilly had told Brett he needed to be at one of the OTAs and since that has past, they will be moving forward with out him. Werder did find it necessary to say that Favre signing with the Vikings could still happen, and as we have seen with news on this subject, this maybe completely wrong.

Daily Norseman Can DeAngelo Hall play zone?

Does one else feel like the Vikings need to find someone to play oppisite Antoine "I will carry this team if i have to" Winfield? The Raiders are going to release Hall. I am really up in the air if it is worth the risk to sign him. I know he has been over rated, but he can't be any worse then what they get out of Cedic "10 yard cushion" Griffin. Anyone have thoughts on this?
