Buffalo Rumblings Open Thread All Weekend!!

I miss these things. The Mods haven't done it in a while, and I think everybody is pretty much "mock-drafted" out. Lets talk about some fun stuff or anything that doesn't deal with the draft.

Buffalo Rumblings Poll: What round should we draft our OT in?

There's been LOTS of discussion on the Rumblings recently on where we should draft an offensive tackle this year. Some want to pull the trigger in the first round. Others feel that there is not a blue-chipper that we can get at pick #10, and the other guys available at that point are not worth it. I'm writing this under the assumption that Bell will not be returning to Buffalo.

Buffalo Rumblings What was your earliest Super Bowl memory?

Think, think, think. Think back when you were a kid. What was the first game that you can remember and did it get you addicted to this wonderful beast that we call the NFL? Mine, I still recall vividly. Even though I can't remember my nephew or nieces' birthdays (gottem all written down).

Buffalo Rumblings Buck up Lil' Campers.  "FALL-IN!"

So the Bills lost on Sunday.........
And?

The Bills have a winning record.  DID you hear me?  THE BILLS HAVE A WINNING RECORD!

When is the last time we had the chance to say that?

Yah-yah-yah............ I am fully aware about 3 years ago.  This is a new team.  Almost a complete turnover of the roster.

Dear Debbie Downers:  The Bills have a winning record!

Buffalo Rumblings YOU are Buddy Nix! Pick our 1st round QB in the 2012 draft.

Sorry folks, no Luck here.  We are NOT going to suck that bad and get the #1 pick.  So man up, that's why Ralph is paying you the $big $bucks.  Everybody on here has a different opinion.  Here's a little video for you.

Matt Barkley:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTmKA-AiFUc

Landry Jones:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q_w0LJNm3E

John Brantley:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7zXAEtqMpI

Is it too early to think about next year?  I guess that all depends on how Fitz performs (read how our O-line performs).

Buffalo Rumblings Happy Memorial Day weekend all !!!

Hope you all are enjoying a great weekend with your families.  My daughter is graduating high school today.  OMG!

My family is down to TN visiting from the fatherland (Chautauqua County, NY).  Gonna be a great day.

Here's what's for chow:  Pulled pork sandwiches, 3 slabs of ribs, 4 smoked chickens, my wife's famous potatoe salad, 3 bean bake, German vinegar cucumber & onions, cold ranch broccoli bacon salad, cole slaw, baked apples, and strawberry shortcake.  Whew!  Oh, also some adult beverages.

What's for chow at your place this weekend?

Please remember to pray for all of our young men and women still across the pond.

Buffalo Rumblings Grading the Ralph............

A+ baby!  All the way.

Watch Chan's interview which starts with Ralph walking in on the side ..... and then then next video when he talks about his team.

HIS TEAM!

We all get old eventually.  And we all don't look like Tom Cruise.

This great man brought us the Bills to Buffalo.  Built the team.  Helped build the AFL.  Got them respectability and helped them join the NFL.   Our team has stayed here in the wonderful city of Buffalo the entire time because of him!!!!

And he loves this team sooooooo much, that his old body had to fly to Miami and watch us beat them.  Or maybe he hates Miami as much as we all do.  I think that is really the case.  Ralph is a fan of the team, not an owner, he is a fan just like us.

I certainly hope the Bills can give him a win at home this week.  He's not getting any younger.

Please do not post hate on Ralph for supposed past mistakes.  Regurgitate all of that stuff on another post.  Let's celebrate this wonderful man who brought NFL football to Buffalo.

Buffalo Rumblings Buddy Nix sly as a fox?

First post.  Forgive me if it looks crappy.

In keeping with the Buddy Nix theme for today, what do you think about this?  Does Buddy have a long-term plan that we don't know about and/or understand?

Here's what we know:  He did not address our two biggest needs (or are they really?) during the draft this year.  QB and OT.  We drafted heavily on the defensive side of the ball and picked up a couple of WRs later on.  Are the positions of QB and OT really our biggest need?  Buddy and Chan obvously studied film and maybe determined that Trent and the linemen we have on the roster are good enough.  Hence the reason to draft and improve the defense.  But what if...........

Buddy did not like the QBs on this year's draftboard and also thought that the OTs available in the 1st and 2nd round were not worth the pick.  Could it be possible that his grand, master plan is to accept another sub-mediocre season in order to draft our franchise QB in the 1st round next year and continue to plug our holes with another good 2011 draft?  But what about the O-line deficiencies you ask?

Here's what I think.  He purposely ignored the OT position because of this year's labor situation.  A LOT of good players got screwed and were stuck on their current teams when they could have been UFAs marching off to a new team with a big, fat contract.  All of those guys are pissed.  And guess what?  Next year they WILL be UFAs.  Buddy's plan will be to scoop some of these guys up to make our team playoff contenders again.
